A year later I found this. I was looking at a video about DTV and saw DTF; hey, what is that? Of course, you have a video. But this is all too much for me. But thank you for being the best teacher out there.

      Hi, Jennifer,
I was wondering… have you had an opportunity to do a wash test on the red Cardinal shirt? I have watched this video several times to refresh myself before doing this hack. It really does look beautiful.
      Have a lovely day!

I've always thought that powder is harmful, especially when it melts, you're the only person who wears a mask and glasses and I'm glad about that.😷

I really like “learning” together. It never fails, that no matter how careful I am the first time, I mess up in some way! I talk myself through things like you do. Lol It’s nice knowing I’m not the only one having to figure things out the first time. People generally only post their perfect pieces. You know what would be fun, if we all just posted one of our fails, so we know we have lots of company!

  • @ladynredmichigan
    @ladynredmichigan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +58

I saw a cool trick on another video for melting the powder. they laid the paper in a cookie tray with a cooling rack folded over it and laid the press on the cooling rack so that you don't have to hold it. I haven't tried it yet, but it beats holding that heavy press over the print. Another trick I've heard is to wait a minimum of 24 hours before washing. Happy sublimating!

I was thinking the same thing….use a jelly roll pan instead of wasting cardstock to apply powder and then (after removing excess), put a cookie cooling rack into the pan over the design.

I noticed you only pressed 1 time. I learned to press it a second time after the initial press. Also, is it possible to cure the images and save them to press another time?

A heat gun works well also. 😊 if you have a heat press ( the ones that have the claw handle types), you can lay it under it, while still keeping it open (top up).

OMG this is fantastic!!!! Beautiful results. Just a note. I have and Epson Eco Tank ET-2800. It WOULD NOT feed the DTF paper taped to a sheet of regular paper, no matter how I tried it. However it fed through beautifully all by itself (This printer feeds only from the back.) This opens up so many possibilities for me. So many beautiful Cotton, Rayon, Modal & Viscose shirts that I wanted to use!!

You are the best for explanations. No one speaks about the respiration part. I have asthma and I've been sick because I used vingl. I really w need to know a bette way to make shirts.

What about working in a garage or a well ventilated room? You can get personal respirators off of Amazon🥰

@@JenniferMaker thank you. I just need to get better. The asthma attacks are not under control yet. I thought I could do projects in my little craft room by leaving the air conditioned on. I was wrong. We don’t see the fumes but there there.

Just repress couple seconds for the excess powder.i own dtf and sub:) I'd recommend a short repress either way.

Jennifer, question about ventilation. I have a bedroom I use for my craft room. It only has 2 windows next to each other on the outside wall.i don't close the bedroom door so in the winter how can I be sure if I close the door the room will be well ventilated? Should I use my ceiling fan, Crack open the windows, or both? I am like you in so far as I want to also be safe, especially because I am getting over a bout of aspiration pneumonia.

You can use both depending on the breeze.

I love this video. I tried to do this but had problems. I used an Epson ET-2400, Hippo ink, No Dreaming powder and CenDale DTF Transfer film sheet. Could not get it to cure. CenDale said to cure at 266F to 330 F for 120s to 300s. Tried that, still powdery. Tried 385 F for 40s. Still no luck. Any suggestions

I use DTF Transfer Film with a Sawgrass printer. I have not tried the CenDale brand if that makes a difference. jennifermaker.com/dtf-t-shirt-printing-on-cotton-sublimation/

I love how vibrant the colors are showing up with this technique. I will definitely be trying to make something out of this one. I have all of my protective gear and will have plenty of ventilation while creating my project.

Hi Jennifer, Thank you so much for sharing your techniques. I've tried this and it came out great. I used my HTV RONT to melt the powder. Maybe a heat gun will work too.

I purchased a Sawgrass Bundle heatpress nation for Sublimation on cotton. The paper and ink Chromoblast for cotton came with it. My first try was horrible. The adhesive on the paper stuck to the shirt outside the image! I still can't get it off. The company guy who does their Master Classes stated he doesn't do anything in cotton. So I have no ideal where I went wrong..Love your videos. Hope someday you will do one on Chromoblast sublimation.

Hi Jennifer. After watching your video several times, I have decided to try the DTF powder sublimation. I have had success on one print, so I decided to put several on a sleeper. I printed them and powdered them all at the same time. I heated the sleeper and the pictures. I did the back first and it turned out perfect! Then I did the prints on the left, then the right. I'm not sure what happened. I can't seem to include my photos, but the prints got worse as I went. Almost faded looking. Would you know what I might have done wrong?
