The fact that I did NOT know about that ruler on the cricut cutter thing, being able to change the canvas color AND clicking that box to remove the grid 🤯 wow - great video, trying this out now! I like the outline showing better!
That is really cool! The colors are really bright! I definitely want to see this done with an inkjet printer because that is what I have and would use. It would also be great to see it used on the larger sheets of DTF.
I did do this hack , I’ve discovered that using my heat gun to melt the powder works so well. Using after the first powder then again after the second powder. Turns our absolutely perfect 😊
What setting did you use on your heat gun? This might be a stupid question too, but with mention using sublimation printer or inkjet printer I'm confused. Is this printed with sublimation ink or regular inkjet (office) printer??
I use the low setting working in small sections until all the powder is melting. And t those were done with a sublimation printer. This hack works really nicely for white shirts as well. Any color for that matter.

No need for fear, jump in! I myself will never pay for a sublimation machine. My favorite thus far has been Siser DTV, which you can do on light and dark fabrics of any kind. The ONLY benefit I see with DTF is you can use those pretty sublimation designs with bits and pieces of color everywhere......... so you don't have to weed. That's honestly the only benefit. I do like I can use those designs with the DTF technique.
Also Yolanda adds powder again after the melt. Then melts the powders one more time. Make sure people know that step . Very important for washing purposes
@@kimkass9548Ive never powdered twice & never have had problems washing. I made a shirt for my son who unfortunately got sick on it the next day. I scrubbed on the print with a laundry brush, using all kinds of detergents to soak & scrub to pre-treat, then washed, heat dried, and it still looks fabulous!

I use my easy press to cool off my shirt after pressing in my heat press. I know they make cooling stones but those easy presses are cold when not turned on and work great for cooling off quickly
I tried DTF over HTV a few months ago. I didn’t care for the area where the DTF edge appeared fuzzy on the HTV. someday soon I will try the DTF over Siser material that is marketed for eco solvent printing. I think it will work much better because it’s made to print on.
Me too, did you try again ? I used htvront white htv., tried less pressure, less time etc nothing worked.. I wonder if this only works with sister easy weed. ?

I think on the black tshirt the white offset showing is a great idea, maybe on a color not as dark wouldn’t need to have the offset showing. I like this hack a lot. Thanks!
usually people offset an image because of the complexity of cutting the image and weeding. I think. But also, because you can only do the dtf hack on white background. Idk, I am assuming. Maybe someone can comment.

@heathersmith2847 well I did get something from htvront for dark shirts sublimation vinyl and it turned out beautifully. It hasn't been washed yet but the colors pop and don't look faded

OMG!! I stumbled upon your youtube video and spent the next 3 hours watching previous ones!! I have had my Cricut for about 2 years and have been very frustrated learning how to use it. Most other "instructional" videos talk in the lingo and I didn't understand them. You are so clear and simple-very straight forward in your explainations and word choices!! Thanks for the video. It seems lots of steps for newbies like myself. Wouldn't it be better and faster to print on transfer film from a sublimation printer(mine is Epson F100) and apply on the fabric. I've got LOKLiK cutter but takes long to print and weed and it doesn't accept some of my designs downloaded from Canva. I don't like using LOKLiK image library stuff. You also didn't mention the fabric material which looks cotton as sublimation works best on light and over 65% polyester material. I know you aren't using sublimation paper but you're aiming to gain the same effect. It is a great video by the way because I never knew this technique.
Will like to know if the colors held up or faded also love to see on bigger paper, I'm so hooked on your channel 😊 I'm about to buy th epson 2803 but not sure if I want to buy the sublimation ink to convert or just use the ink it come with to just dedicate to using this hack,help! What's best 😅

Hey i love your page I’ve learned so much from you. Quick question have you ever try doing a mixture of drf powder? The black and white? Or do the white and then the black to see if all the colors come out?
My griddle melts at 225 in about 15 seconds. I grab with pliers and drag across to catch any middle uncured spots. Anything above 250 warps the paper because it melts too fast, so test quickness of melt. You can slowly reheat and get wrinkles out
Hi this video is great. I tried to do everything the same but for some reason when i pressed it i got bubbles and poweder. i made sure there was no powder left, it all melted. that took 10 mins to melt. maybe i didnt shake it off good ? i had the press on 320 for 15 sec. and peeled cold

That’s a good idea. Key is getting powder on (wet)ink after printed asap. Melting and adding powder a second time is genius. Thank you!
Somebody told me that regular flour will also work for the powder, just a way to save money!

the ink for ink jet is a water based ink, so as soon as it gets washed the first time you will pretty much lose it all
I don't have sublimation anything so I too would love to hear more about these hacks for an inkjet printer

I hate to say I have washed my dtf hacked shirt and the design started lifting. Looking for a new way with black shirts

Do u ever use a foam pad on your heat press for any process?
Use those cooling blocks that I’ve seen and ads and on some of the websites where you can buy your HTV and other items
You can also use a ceramic or stone coaster sitting around the house.
is the inkjet printer that was used here has the normal ink or the sublimation ink?
This one is the sublimation printer with sublimation ink
Have the color bled onto the white vinyl?
