As someone who also hasn't read any of the books you've had in these videos, I am living for this series! And no judgement here about being a mood reader...lol
Thanks for not judging my lack of commitment 😁
You would love to know that Annie Wilkes got a phenomenal prequel in Castle Rock, the show. It's incredibly well written and spectacularly performed, absolutely worth your time.
Omg this makes my day a better place! I will definitely look that up!
I've been reading classics for the past several years, and it's been amazing reading fantastic literature.
I read Catcher in the Rye for the first time last Christmas, and coincidentally, the story takes place during Christmas. Holden Caulfield began as an irritating, moody teen. But as I read further, the words began to resonate with me because of similarities I have found in the thoughts he had and how he expressed them.
The description of the scenery and the formulated thoughts are so raw. By the end I was in tears which a book has never done for me before. I found closure and it helped me heal in a way.
It's now my favorite novel.
I'm now currently reading One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.
I love that books can have such an impact on our emotions. Sometimes they find you at the perfect moment. And I’m so happy that not only did you find a classic that resonates with you but you found your favorite book!
Good luck on your classics journey 😁
Maybe I should look at picking some up soon 🤔
@@mrs.pizzareads I recommend Mary Shelley' Frankenstein if you haven't already.
I angry finished Cruel Prince and washed my hands off it 😂 Throne of Glass you'd have to read the first TWO books to really get into t he tonal shift of the series so yeah, best to just wait if you are ever into it. I still dnf'd at book4, they just really weren't my type of books anymore. Seeing you get into your horror era, makes me wanna pick up King again. I used to read a ton of his short stories in middle school and loved them!
Having to read two not-great books to start a series never bodes well for me. But if the YA mood ever hits again I have options 😂
If you feel the Stephen King itch, scratch it!!! I’m having so much fun picking up his books
I love when you read a great book and just fall into a genre deep dive. I'm currently in my ya thriller era thanks for A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
I’ve heard great thing about that series!
Coming here from StephMorgan_'s channel and library tag video ❤ Already loving your energy and I haven't read any of these books either 😅 I totally understand the needy dogs when trying to film. Our dog Nugget always wants attention when the camera starts🤣
Thanks for checking out my channel 😁 also Nugget is a fantastic name for a puppy!!
@@mrs.pizzareads ❤
Thank you! We got it from Critical Role which does D&D campaigns and she truly fits her name 🥰
My favorite Stephen King book is either the shining or misery. Im happy you liked it, and Kathy Bates is doing Annie amazing. I haven´t read the exorcist only seen the movie. Btw I´m a new subscriber 😊
@@amandizanbooksandlife both are great books! Thanks for the sub😁
The YA series that got me back into reading over 10 years ago included Throne of Glass, which I liked more than A Court of Thrones and Roses. Would present-day me have the same assessment? I don't know... but I loved the original cover art and the Witches that appear later in the series.
I have had so many people have similar experiences with TOG jumpstarting them into reading. I really think that when I’m not being the moodiest mood-reader ever I will enjoy it. My brain is just not cooperating 😂
@@mrs.pizzareads Here are the other YA series that catalyzed my spending lots of time and money in Barnes & Noble. Hehe (ordered by alpha of author's last name):
~ The Tiger Saga [first book called The Tiger's Curse (Colleen Houck), fantasy-romance featuring mythology of India]
~ The Reawakened series (Colleen Houck, Egyptian fantasy-romance)
~ Shadow Falls series (CC Hunter, summer camp romance with vampires and such)
~ Fallen (Lauren Kate, fantasy-romance with angels)
~ The Daughter of Smoke & Bone Trilogy (Laini Taylor, action fantasy-romance)
TOG was closer to the end of reading the above; and then when ACOTAR came out? mmmm... no turning back. haha.
Have you ever heard of Francesca Lia Block? She published a lot of cozy, ethereal, urban stuff in the 90s. If you ask around enough used bookstore employees, I'm sure someone will tell you about her Weetzie Bat books. She's written a lot of standalone stuff too.
@@Sthemingway omg this list is amazing. 🤩I actually have been dancing around reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone as well.
And now I’m going to go down a rabbit hole looking for Weetzie Bat. It sounds like my favorite kind of 90s nostalgia good time
@@mrs.pizzareads If you end up wanting to give the Weetzie Bat books a try, look for the omnibus editions like Dangerous Angels (another beautiful cover, at least the version published from 1999 that is mostly blue with pink font).
