The Gouf is no Zaku. And it is intended for more experienced pilots. Here are some thoughts on whether it should be buffed or not. #gundambattleoperation2 #gouf
Full Ramba Ral loudout also includes the Zaku ll machine gun or Rick dom giant Bazooka. Even the model kits have those listed. Also the gouf is right handed so the left finger gun doesn’t get in the way of either the Bazooka or machine gun.
The gouf custom was a legit thing though. Not just to make it stronger in this game. It was used in 08th MS team by an absolute legend. One of the most badass fights in all of Gundam.

Old 1st month JP PS4 vet here, Back in the day when your only other raid options were Zaku I, GM light armor, G3, FATB and the Efreet Kai, the Gouf was basically a side grade to the Zaku I. The Zaku I had a better machine gun, a bazooka no one used and 2 swings, while the Gouf had a shield, the whip at the time no one knew how to use, a worse machine gun and 3 WHOLE SWINGS! that was the big decider on what you picked between the Gouf and the Zaku I (no one used the GM light Armor because it was debatably shit.) Then the Efreet kai came and completely invalidated both, because one GOOD raid player in a Efreet Kai could singlehandedly take out an entire enemy team, the Zaku I couldn't match it in a straight up fight but the machine gun kept it semi relevant till the zudah came with it's Anti-ship rifle. but the Gouf had the same Melee priority as the Efreet Kai, so i constantly would get into these close, 1-on-1 duels with them, clashing and just barely avoiding being knocked down, the good old days of me being a designated Efreet Kai killer till the Dom was added and once again destroyed the meta. I heavily agree with giving the whip a buff, as it would allow players using the Gouf a more consistent stun, maybe a few more skills to compensate against Stunning Beam rifles, would personally want a range buff on it but i feel that would give opponents more time to get a tackle ready for the inevitable melee rush down.
I think what would help the Gouf is to give it a Zaku machine gun to let fight a further ranges more comfortably and the finger vulcan for closer range build stun. I also think that the Gouf family in general should get the offense system skill, higher levels of leg buffers, shield break stance and enhanced tackle. But in general I honestly think all of the Gouf's are very serviceable. They just need a little push to get them out of B tier and into A tier.
I think all of the Gouf variants that don't have it would benefit significantly from getting either the Emergency Evasion System skill or the Damage Control skill. I think that, generally, their stats and equipment are fine, but their ability to deal with the increasingly common instant-stagger beam weapons at higher costs hurts them. Maneuver Armor is helpful, but since the suits lack ways to build stun quickly at range it only really comes into play while retreating or repositioning. It's also very strange that they lack the EES skill, since the Gouf (VD) gets the level 2 version of the Emergency Evasion System skill at all of its cost levels that gives it TWO dodge rolls.
The cooldown on the heat rod is fine. I just think the animation needs to be more forgiving for the downswing. Or to be able to cancel out of the animation at higher levels all together. The level 4 Gouf is legitimately fine/good depending on the map if you're able to get it going but the same can be said about pretty much any other suit. It'll never be great or meta. Easy to average ~100k damage on the higher level ones if you stick to maps like underground base, arctic base, etc.
Also the gouf variants are just ace pilot variations that were asked specifically. Gouf mpt has a loudout of Zaku machine gun, RD giant Bazooka, heat rod, heat sword. The gouf VD is almost identical to the gouf custom and the only differences being torso and generator output, loudout wise is pilot specific. As for the flight units, prototype flight gouf was a mix of the original while the completed version was the mix of the mpt gouf with a Gatling sheild. This regular gouf in gbo2 is specifically ramba rals which is the first version of the gouf and is not the mass production version.
they could give it an alt mod for the finger machinegun as sub weapon, like the heavy arms gouf, where all the fingers shoot at the same time as a pseudo shotgun for a more reliable insta stun at short range
This regular gouf we have in game is specifically the ramba ral version and his missing it’s full kit, the devs didn’t think anyone would care enough to make two different Goufs so we only have Ral’s.
Really unfortunate that the Gouf gets outclassed in most of the cost levels it appears in. At 300, you already have the Efreets with the most vile weapon to ever grace this game (specifically at their cost level): the assault shotgun. The Efreet is just a better raid than the Gouf, invalidating the use of this MS. Why would the average meta player decide to play a MS that easily gets outclassed by its neighbors? The Goufs Maneuver Armor can't even tank a Efreets shotgun, which adds some salt to the wound. Also, love your content :)
you forget to mention that the downswing from the gouf can outdamage those 5 swings from the agguguy in a single downswing from the heat rod, my friend routinely takes his gouf in 400 lobbies and absolutely kicks ass in it to my astonishment. the gouf is absolutely fine, the way to fix it is to give it a dodge roll at 350 and 400 and increase its defenses.
I didn't mention it verbally, but i did show it. Since it's a raid i figured the melee goes without saying. At least in most cases. Dodge roll could work. Maybe 1 or 2 more skills.

I love playing this thing in 400 cost because of the modifier on your rod down swing allow you to do massive melee damage even on general, playing this thing on 250-350 kinda suck cus general and raid at that cost range don't fuck around like the efreets (ugh), I think this bad boy could use more stunt accumulation on his finger gun .
Goufs not used by Rambal seem to mostly depoly with a Zaku Machine gun or a Giant Bazooka, It might be enough to just let it use them, though the problem is that takes away from the Goufyness
I saw an older game play where the gouf's over head heat rod attack looked way longer than the current, nerf perhaps? Also i think gouf (vd) might be in the classic as the other back ground goufs seen using zaku mg and bazooka. Ramba's gouf might be his custom while the VDs are the common standard.
Yea the OG Gouf could still use some more buffs mainly to it's mobility, it's finger guns could stand to get tweaked more either better build stun or tighter spread and finally let the natural rod poke heavy stagger because there's very little reason to use it over the side swing that has massive coverage and also just stuns plus Agguguy is running around with a heavy stagger already at the same cost. While the OG Gouf could use other handheld weapons I really wouldn't want it getting a bazooka given how it hits like a truck if it get's in and it getting a 120mm wouldn't really add much other than derpy chip damage. Not sure I'd say the gouf custom is any better but hey at least OG Gouf isn't dummy slow like the stock zaku and it's not the suffering that is the Raid flight type Gouf. With that all being at least it's been given buffs at all and now has funny damage novelty going for it meanwhile GM Striker, GM light, Zaku I get literally nothing.
Yeah I usually like Goufs in appearances but I use zero of them in GBO2. For the base Gouf's costs I use the Zaku I over it. It's just a much more versatile and easier to use raid at the same cost.
Mobile Suit K9, as a fellow Rate/Rank A. I can’t let the Gouf slander side. You can’t compare Zakus and Goufs in the first place. Keeping it gaming, Zaku’s unless a specialized variant, are generals. Whereas Gouf’s for the most are raid units. If you truly are using the base Gouf correctly, it will always be a contender with that “anti-stagger” utilized correctly. It’s a major problem.
What do mean can't give it additional weapons because it breaks the lore of the machine in the original anime we see it able to use the 120mm zaku machine gun and a bazooka in zeonic front
Aside from the Kai, i don't see any of the Strikers being under powered. At least not when it comes to close range combat. Do you see them as being in need of a buff?
@@Mobilesuitk9 in terms of the mid range areas honestly wish the Normal striker had something for that through I do agree that their all very good for close combat honestly, could just be me but I don’t see them as often as the full armor custom or the custom, same goes for the semi which seems completely extinct from the player base I’ve only seen that suit 1 time the pilot was a great pilot too he did a good job in the suit(this encounter was over a year ago too), it’s also kinda confusing how the kai can’t go on ground yet the custom can 🤔, I haven’t played low score in so long I should prob revisit it today(if I my wifi works lol) and see if it’s just me

As for now, i think it's a 400 cost suit, and there aren't a lot of 400 cost matches throughout the week. At least not whenever i log on to play.

That sounds like it can work as well. Since it doesn't have stealth it won't be as annoying to fight against even with the instant stun.

I’ve had great success with this suit. It definitely needs a buff but people never suspect the side swing! It just sometimes doesn’t connect lol
I like to imagine some Gbo2 players do quit mid match to go for a drive

Switch the heatrod to main Melee and sword as the secondary.
There's a ton of highcosts with multiple true melee weapons too at this point.

Buff it. More armor resistance and a dodge roll OR shorter cooldown for whip and extra ammo for finger vulcans. Easy.
