20 years later and this game still has an attention to detail that's hard to beat. It doesn't hold your hand, doesn't treat you like an idiot and doesn't dumb anything down to make it faster or easier. You feel completely immersed in 1930s America. It was and still is a masterpiece.
Thanks for pointing that out. This game really is so awesome because it's not average easy going. I first played this game around 8 years of age and remember the Lucky Bastard Mission at the Harbor. I managed to kill everyone but wouldnt figure out you have to move the wagons. Eventually I ran out of ideas and had to restart the checkpoint, until I finally figured it out. Same with the Freeride Extreme Missions which are far from easy.
I thought the "rebound" thing in 3:00 was just a bug with the hitboxes that made the game confused and think you hit Tommy, and the reason the baseball bat knocks you out cold is because Tommy gets hit in the back. There's also lag when this happens, like the game is thinking about what to do.
Maybe you're right, I thought it was cool either way when I made this. Ever since I switched to playing on an internal SSD drive I never get lag in this game ever.
Mafia 2002 is quite a detailed game but lets not kid around , Grand Theft Auto IV & V are significantly more detailed than it , especially GTA IV. Mafia 2002 doesn't have to be more detailed than GTA IV to be a detailed game , however comparing both is unfair as Mafia came out 6 years prior.
@@HottestBrownMan I went ahead and did it anyway, not so much as a competition but because Mafia was the first and only to foreshadow a lot of details in GTA IV. They are my top 2 favorite games 😊
@@n0ughtyb0y yeah pretty much. Especially after I saw that horribly photoshopped tommy head in that old family portrait hangar 13 added some time later. I think a mafia remake that could probably surpass the original would be pretty similar to rdr2 in terms of its vast content (gambling, photo mode, stores where you can actually buy stuff or customize your hair, useable public transport, weight gain and loss system, gang hideouts etc.) but I doubt that will ever happen. I wouldn't mind seeing the radio news broadcasts in the remake modded in the OG though, if I remember correctly vavra liked that in the remake and wanted to add something like it but ran out of time/money.
When we get rid of the car and go back to Lucas, he'll tell us where the Celeste is and that owner "..God knows what he does ..". Perhaps he is someone important to the police.
Mafia was WAY ahead of it's time. Way better than GTA III that was it's competition. Every Mafia game after this has been a real disappointment though.
Those missions that had you dump cars off a cliff into the water would be easier if I knew you could park it in neutral and didn't have to run back and get another car and push it...

I assume it's on purpose since they have to be hit a certain way for it to happen plus it only happens on certain objects. I don't know much about burnouts but that sounds cool

The remake was a good re-telling of the main story, but is missing alot of the fine detail shich made me love the series so.
