Capturing the EPIC Lewes Bonfire Night in Photographs! Tim Jamieson love louis shirley
Nice photos. And I went to learn about the history of this festival and learned about Guy Fawkes. But what I didn't expect was that I saw the movie 'V for Vendetta' many years ago, and it was actually based on Guy Fawkes. And, I also learned the origin of 'Guy', well, the importance of history.
Just found your channel, fantastic Tim. I used to work in Lewes, early 80’s and then again mid 2000’s. My employer was based in the town.
I first went to Lewes Bonfire in the mid 70’s (somehow I’m 66 now, which is utterly mad really - how did that happen.😂)
You’ve captured the mood of this event perfectly, thanks for sharing it.
I also took part in the Battle Bonfire, again back in the 70’s. Sussex really is the ‘Bonfire’ capital.
I’m living in County Tipperary, Ireland now since 2008.
Really enjoyed seeing this, as well as the rest of your videos; keep ‘em coming.
Getting my head round an XT3 myself, so I’m guessing the nice algorithm at TH-cam Towers suggested your channel for that reason. I’m glad it did.
Hey Alun! Thanks for the kind comment. Lewes and the surrounding are certainly filled with eccentrics, great for photos! Wishing you many successful photo trips with your new camera 🙏🏻
Awesome video, Tim. What an amazing event. Your images are fantastic. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks, Ash! Appreciate that mate 🙏🏻
Great video , with some cracking shots!
Thank you! Much appreciated 🙏🏻
epic photo walk i like documentary side of street photography as a local street photogrpaher you documenting history
Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate that 🙏🏻
Quality vid and pics, Tim. Difficult lighting conditions, light sources, mobility constraints and sensory overload make for challenging conditions. Favs are 2:02 parade, and 4:29 bell cart. Have you attended and photographed this event often? Cheers!
Thanks Paul! Really appreciate that. I’ve been many many times as I grew up in the area. This was the first time photographing it properly though!
Oh man, what an epic vid! In both the walk through, sounds and snaps. The lighting from the fire and smoke looks incredible!
Thanks mate!!
Fabulous Tim! Sad you're not here for it this year but it's a repeat of last year with rain all day again so it's a good miss! Next year hopefully... 😊😘
Thanks for the lovely comment, mum! Hopefully make it down for the next one! 🎉
Nice shots
Thank you!
Great video Tim and some super images too. I was in Lewes yesterday seeing the shops getting boarded up. I only live about 15 minutes away from Lewes and would love to see this myself, but understand it's for locals only and the town is locked down.
Thanks Julian! It’s a great thing to experience but when I went last year (my mum and dad live in Lewes and I grew up there) it was so busy it was a bit uncomfortable. Still if you get the chance to go one day then you definitely should!
Also to add, my favourite shot was 5:11! I love how the character broke the fourth wall and stared down the lens. Bit menacing 😂 - but very cool.
Thanks matey! I really like that one too :)
Great video Tim. I’ve just subscribed!
Love those night shots. 👍
Just out of interest, where on your body you attach your GoPro?
Thanks. Joe.
Thanks a lot, Joe! I wear the GoPro on a chest mount :)
