    Would been funny if the *Clowns* saw a human dressed as a clown and called the other *Clowns* over but decide to not kill the human because it looked like an _off version_ of the *Clowns.* just imagine the interaction.

    That's actually brilliant. An actual sensible explanation for why popping the nose makes them explode. It also explains all the things they can do that seem like magic. Just tools implanted in their literal meat suit.

      Basically the exhaust port for the clown suit would make the most sense? Some wierd alien flub that absorbs and dissipates whatever radiation byproduct the suits/clowns produce, with no way of reinforcing the mechanism without hampering its function. Required positioning because of suit engineering / culture / hubris.

    • @ComotoseOnAnime
      @ComotoseOnAnime ปีที่แล้ว +58

      Actually it might be even more that that. The snake forms have the nose as well. It's possible that the nose is a primary sensory organ that just doubles as a potential temperature regulator. Since both the snakes and the meat suits have this it's possible that the meat suit's nose is also a sensory organ/ heatsink so the suit can overheat and/or suffer a cascade of errors leading to the suit self destructing. Hell it's possible the nose is an important nervous system that interfaces with the suit.
      There's also the possibility that the meatsuit nose IS the nose of the snake form protruding from the suit, acting as something of a helmet of an astronaut, and if that gets cracked on somewhere like mars it could cause just as catastrophic of a problem, toxic environmwnt, explosive decompression of internal structures, etc.
      And we see on our world that many animals have their primary and squishy sensory organs extremely close to their primary weapons for obtaining food, so it's entirely possible that this is just an unfortunate weakness of their biology, the klown equivalent to an eplosion damaging of our eardrums and causing extreme, possibly permanent hearing loss and diorientation, except even more catastrophic given the extremes of bodily function.
      Given their potential ambush predation stratagy that they evolved from and utilize throughout the movie, it's likely that such a weakness was an acceptable one given the advantages it presented, much like our brain being an evolutionary weakness from an energy conservation standpoint as was as a potential problems resulting from both trauma and birthing difficulties. Perhaps their nose is the an organ that was the evolutionary leap their species used to dominate their planet and it's extreme growth (seen in the giant specimen.) It's possible their nose keeps growing, necessitating a larger meat suit to compensate, which might A. Impair cognitive function from sure sensory overload, or the suit itself requires the lion share of the processing power to move not leaving much for the snake inside.

    The variety in each Killer Klown’s appearance could be attributed to a case of Extreme Polyphenism. As a reminder Polyphenism is a condition in nature where multiple members that are a part of the same species exhibit a variety of different shapes, forms and abilities. This can be seen in ants and termites, as the insects can have multiple cast systems, each member of the colony being somewhat different in size, shape and having different roles in the colony, yet despite the radical differences all ants share the same DNA as their siblings and queen.

    Adding to my Polyphenism theory, the worm form is most likely a larval stage. Then over time they’ll metamorphose into a humanoid clown like fully adult form, and the adult forms they take depend on certain factors, such as the space they inhabit as infants, environmental conditions, and food.

      Yeah, that's what I thought at first as well, but Roanoke brought up some interesting points. For example, being shot in the body does absolutely nothing. The way Jumbo detaches his hands and grows new ones and the way his head spins a perfect 180 is another thing. They also seem to be able to just...DO things. Like Shorty being able to leap out of sight and return with boxing gloves...and then uppercut someone so hard his head popped off like a champagne cork or create a shadow puppet that can shrink humans down into his hands for him to put in a bag.

    As for the weakness in the red noses, possibly that would either be a nerve cluster that controls bodily chemistry, such as the control of hormone production or enzyme generation. The nose must be able to keep the generation of the hormones/enzymes under control, and by destroying it the production of the substances becomes unregulated and starts overproducing them, leading to violent chemical reactions which results in a dangerous explosion.

    A party horn (also a party blower, party pipe, party elephant, party blowout, noisemaker, party whistle, party honker, ta-doo-dah, noise popper, birthday kazoo, whizzer, blow tickler, tongue kazoo, or party snake) is a horn formed from a paper tube, often flattened and rolled into a coil, which unrolls when blown into, producing a horn-like noise. It is not consistently known by any single term in English, but by a number of local variations.

    The idea that these are bio suits meshes well with clown, uh…lore. Clowns pick their makeup design and register it (on a ‘clown egg’, which is basically a painted Easter egg that they draw the design on). No two can be the same. You have to be different than the others.
    Also the thing Jumbo uses to body the sheriff may or may not have an actual name. I called them ‘noisemakers’, in Spanish they’re called ‘matasuegras’ but I think a lot of people say ‘party horn’.

    I think what also could add to the extreme diversity amongst the species actually has something to do with their feeding habits. Why no two clowns look alike may not have always been the case. But over time, their ability to feed across the cosmos actually has lent to their species diversity. You notice that they melt down their food before they eat it, that implies degrading the molecular bonds between what keeps us together. Is it so far fetched to say that as they develop they actually take from the DNA of what they consume to some degree? This would keep their gene pool diverse enough, it would also credit why they start the same but can develop so differently in appearance, paired with their indeterminate growth this could give an extreme variety of clowns once they have gone cosmic which is the stage we see them, this also could lend to how powerful they are, as they acquire genetic benefits of the various species they consume, growing accordingly and why it would benefit them to make snack stops to keep evolving as they grow older and bigger. This wouldn't at all take away from the nose weakness either as that could be the equivalent to our heart, only their end from losing it is vastly different and well alien to us.
    Granted, I like your theory too as they seem to also possess inconsistent capabilities that fits their technology so it would also make total sense they are in clown mech suits.

  • @chaosmastermind
    @chaosmastermind ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I think in order for these snakelike creatures to balance properly in the suits they would need some kind of gyroscope to keep everything level. Their species just isn't built for that kind of orientation and movement. The hardest part of building a robot is keeping it from falling over, and gyroscopes usually help fix that. If that was located in the nose area, then that would explain why destroying it would make it spin out of control and explode.

    I love this movie and I am glad that you reviewed it because... I always thought that guy under the car should have stayed put as well. Thing is, this time I see the cotton candy coccoon by the car. He had to run. They were going to come over to pick it up and likely see him. He shouldn't have run that way though. Stay low and move along the sidewalk to ge around the corner and then bolt.

    Fun fact: All The Klowns (or at least the main ones) have names
    Jumbo-Klown who cuts Farmer's career short and makes a puppet out of Mooney.
    Rudy-Klown who causes a ruckuss in the pharmacy and the first Klown whom Mike and Debbie lay their eyes on.
    Slim-Shadow Puppet Klown with a knack for impersonating voices.
    Shorty-Short Klown who knocks that guy's block off.
    Chubby-Fat Klown who drinks from the cocoon and just kinda vibes in the background for the most part.
    Spikey-Puppet Show Klown with the balloon blood hound
    Bibbo-Klown who jumps on the car as the teenagers/college students try to escape and delivers a Shorty-roni pizza.
    Fatso-Other Fat Klown who gives a Valentines Gift to some random middle age lady.

    The head may be the actual head if the organic creature. You'll notice the worm formnhas different colored hair already. They may even take over a body by inserting themselves over the spinal column and start rebuilding the body from there.

    • @jeffumbach
      @jeffumbach ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just reminded me of the death animation of the Divider create from Dead Space, the head has a prehensile spine it can choke you with and if you don't get it off of you in time it severs your head and places itself on the stump and you see it piloting your body for a few seconds before the YOU DIED screen shows.

    IMO, better theory for the evolution: they intentionally engineered themselves with the intent of optimizing their anatomy for their suits. They might've started with more effective manipulative appendages, but at some point they chose to simplify their biology and rely more heavily on their suits.

    • @cymes82
      @cymes82 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah , that makes more sense, than the notion that they built the "spacesuits" while being effectively a "head on a wormlike body"

    • @SaffronicSaffron

      So they could actually be somewhat humanoid, but not truly... interesting theory.

    • @Meowthix

      @@cymes82 This was my thought too. Even humans in space we are seeing a lot of muscle atrophy for example. My personal belief is if humans spend a prolonged time in zero g we'll replace our legs with some kind of tail or fin to assist with guiding propulsion, naturally giving some force and helping with balance.
      They could be so advanced they've spent enough time in space, devolved their usual limbs, and left themselves as a more worm/snake like creature and yeah. Kind of just continued to optimize suits as these mutations happened.

    As a kid, this was my favorite horror movie. Even though there was some movies that I definitely could not watch, there were plenty that I could with no problem.
    Every time Killer Klowns came on television, I watched it. It has some amazing behind the scenes stories like the actor who played Mooney being a Hollywood veteran and a well known comedian having only a few minutes of screen time (Christopher Titus in the beginning of the movie. He’s the kid walking with the grocery bags and sneakily drinking beer).
    I am also one of the ones who are still holding out hope for that sequel 😂

    The Three Body Problem book series actually provides a viable and terrifying answer to the Fermi Paradox: the universe is a vast Dark Forest and all are simultaneously predator and prey. So the smart ones hide bc revealing your location and existence to others invited possible extinction from any society of greater technological and military advancement. Those who sent out missives of peace and unity ultimately were devoured by a Bigger Fish, so to speak. And those who hid and kept quiet in the forest are the ones who didn’t get killed and their valuable resources assimilated.
