Played this adagio on the way to have my sweet dog of 15yrs put down . It’s sad beauty gave me both solace and comfort . Now I listen to it to remember her
I just read a biography of the composer Brazilian Henrique Oswald, who was a close friend of Saint-Saens ... Only in the book I understood the importance of Camille to our music, no doubt: this is one of the greatest composers in history. ---- thank you google translater!
So lovely, and I often wonder if this was the impetus for Mahler's Adagietto. Saint-Saens loved Wagner as a young man, and it seems he must have influenced Saint Saens in this regard...the super slow speed and colors feel Wagnerian. I don't know anyone else who wrote this much "stretch" of time in their music.
Dear Mr. Kogert, don't you have this full recording? If you have it, PLEASE give us this gift. Your interpretation pleased me so much and I consider the young Andrés Orozco-Estrada and Santtu-Matias Rouvali the 2 great names of the moment, in conducting...

I am soo sorry...
I can understand you...I still miss my 16yr border collie passescaway in 2018
You lose a part of yourself
Saint-Saens has a magical heart...
A few moments of sanity and sheer beauty in a seriously insane and increasingly ugly world.
I agree. And this winter I get to play this symphony with an orchestra for the second time. I can't wait and am already looking over the score again.
@@painterdawn2 That's fantastic and truly an honor.
It's one of the orchestra songs that I really love. This melody touches my heart and gives me a happy feeling that is like in a heaven
Awesome!
Pure peace thank you
Nice!
An absolutely beautiful piece. ❤️

Me é doce naufragar na melancolia dos adágios
Os Adágios românticos são o ápice da música ocidental

J'adore la musique classique
4:30 Beautiful. My favorite part.
Why did there have to be coughing?
Love Exposure

reminds me of Bruckner's 6 adagio movement

Je me trompe mais ça ressemble beaucoup à l'adagietto de la 5ème de Malher
Saint-Saens a composé sa symphonie 15 ans avant Malher. Mais je me suis fait la même remarque, au debut sur les violons.
I can understand you....
Sounds like Strauss, or Wagner.

フランスのクラッシックも、良いですね。フォーレのレクイエムやドビッシーなども素晴らしい。
日本も、雅楽や武満徹などは良いなぁと思う。
