    Thank you for so much information on these two high end driers. I going with Flying Pig for my two huskies because of the under 15 amps draw and that you can turn off the heat while still managing the air speed. Thanks for the demo of how the tips makes so much difference as I wanting to defluff my huskies.

    I was hoping that you would show how to attach the hard hose to the stand dryer.

    • @GinasGrooming
      @GinasGrooming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tracy, thanks for the input! It's hard to address each specific detail (there are so many, as you can imagine!), but fortunately, your question 1) gives me inspiration to do a Flying Pig video with demo, and 2) is fortunately easy to answer in writing as well. On the side of the stand-dryer hose that attaches to the dryer, you will find a circular piece of plastic that is independent of the actual nozzle (about an index finger from the connection point.) This is your locking mechanism. You can set this at "lock", meaning it won't move, and then attach it to the tank of the dryer, or you can leave it loose, attach it, and then lock it in. Easy peasy! Hope this helps and thanks for your interest!

    Thanks for this! I found this video really helpful. I'm looking for a force dryer on a budget. Have you had any experience with either shernbao or shelandy dryers, and do you recommend one over the other? I'd love a flying pig dryer but can't afford it for at home grooming.

    • @GinasGrooming
      @GinasGrooming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Vicky, yay, glad to help! You've already done a great job weeding out the "noise" of so many dryers that are now on the market, and Shernbao and Shelandy are both legitimate and good choices. I've played with the Shernbao equipment at grooming tradeshows, and their stuff feels very well made with a lot of attention to detail. I haven't played with any Shelandy equipment, but the buzz in the industry is a positive one. I checked the stats on both of the "more affordable" versions from either company, and I think you can't go wrong with either one for home grooming. Good luck and please feel free to circle back with feedback so that I can share with the next person who asks! Thanks so much for joining the channel! 🙏💖

    I have a Shih Poo and I’m in desperate search of the best dryer. I was hoping you’d demonstrate with various types of pet dryers 😕, but even so, do you know anything about the hand-held pet dryers? And what are your thoughts on them?? I’ve only seen them online and I’d hate to buy one only to return it 🤷🏽‍♀️. So do you know if they are just as good as stand dryers with the benefit of having a built-in brush? Or are they basically like the human hand held dryer you showed??

    • @GinasGrooming
      @GinasGrooming  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @ShantWhite! Thanks for joining! I am not quite sure about the dryers+brush combo (have not used it), but I will say that there seem to be a lot of new grooming products popping up, some work as promised, most do not (imho). I stick to the tried and true professional brands and systems - which, in your case, would be to work with your Shih Poo with a hose dryer, stand dryer, and brush+comb. It's a process, for sure, but it sounds like you've got the right interest to do it. Hope that may help, thanks 4 watching! 🙏!

    Awesome video! I have a malamute pup and really need a hard blowing, affordable dryer. Do you have any suggestions? We cannot afford a K9 and the flying pig is kind of expensive but if its worth it and none come close we would do it. Please any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

    • @GinasGrooming

      Hi, great question! I put some bargain dryers to the test when my K9-II died over my last holiday season (no judgment, she was over 13), and I killed them, quite literally. I couldn't quite afford another K-9, so I bought another Flying Pig. 2 weeks with 2 Pigs, and I am thrilled. For the cost of the Flying Pig, you really can't do better - and you'll need that for that amazing Arctic coat. Hope that helps! 🙏

    I got a blower today, and I’m gonna be introducing it to my 21 month old. Think low setting plus flat nozzle would be a good place to start? I already tried that for 30 seconds with some treats, and he was ok with that. I want to work very slowly to get him used to it and not spook him.
    He was exposed to a borrowed blower between 8-16 weeks a couple times, and he’s generally pretty brave.

      @@GinasGrooming I have been told that I should never use the blower on him while he's dry (not washed), but I also know a lot of people use theirs dry as well to help deshed, so bit unsure. (And it wasn't just because of my health, it had to do with "blowing dirt, bacteria and allergens into his skin".) Would you agree with this?
      He's a japanese spitz.
      Obviously if this is true, I can't practice without washing him. (And I don't want to wash him if I'm not sure I can dry him fully.)
      That said, before I was told this, I tried it a bit more on half speed (which started to get very loud! Ordered a happy hoddie, which I'm convinced he'll refuse wearing), and my dog just wanted his snacks, and didn't mind the windy conditions or the noise. (I'm very proud of him.) I was more bothered by the noise than he seemed to be.
      Shernbao tsunami blower is what I have. So not all that powerful.

    • @GinasGrooming
      @GinasGrooming  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@mirawenya Thanks for your question! Groomers all over the world use high velocity dryers to deshed dogs with double-coats before the bath, on dry coat. The dirt and allergens (and a ton of undercoat) are blown out of the coat, not into it. Of course, you want to keep moving the dryer nozzle constantly and not blow directly into the coat in one place, but from my experience, unless there is an overlying health condition that I have not experienced, blowing dry coat is a tried-and-true technique that does not have any history of causing anything negative - only positive in getting dead coat and dirt off the pet. Here's a funny video of me doing exactly this on Stevie the Akita: th-cam.com/video/TqHT7M314Gc/w-d-xo.html
      It sounds like your pet is going to do great with a blower, especially having such a caring owner such as yourself! Thank you so much for your comments and questions! 😍

    I am researching dryers to groom my own female Samoyed at home. For this breed, do you find the Flying Pig to be suitable enough or is the K9-ii better?

    • @GinasGrooming
      @GinasGrooming  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Dylan, great question! The K9's are considerably more powerful than the Flying Pig models, but I can assure you that the Flying Pig has ample power for a Samoyed, as long as you use the reducing nozzle. Now if $$ is no object, the K9-II or III will cut your drying time and really help blow out dead coat better, but I personally now only use two Flying Pigs in my salon (my K9-II finally broke after 13 years) and I groom all sorts of hairy beasts. Hope that helps, and thanks for your comment! 😊
