    The Mac Farms Channel is based on our small family dairy farm in Nova Scotia Canada. We farm approximately 150 acres, and we milk 45-50 cows.
    We run mainly Massey Ferguson tractors, our equipment lineup is as follows:
    Massey Ferguson 135, 375, 4253, 3070, and 1105. Case/David Brown 885, AGCO White 6710, and Challenger MT465D.

    Love that Massey , lots of TLC this winter for it . Should work well on the farm
    Won’t be long for the corn 🌽 silage soon
    Should have a set of duals for it ,

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The clamp on duals for the white would work it has the rings on it already, we just need to find a couple decent tires to put on the rims, since someone shoved a bale spear through one of them in the spring lol.

    She looks a lot better!! I like the tilt hood and the tilt grill!!!

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah neat feature it really shouldn't have been an option it should have been standard equipment. Massey was a little late to the tilt hood game I think Case had them beat on that.

    • @GosselinFarmsEdGosselin

      @@macfarms lol.. ya, case started with the 90 or 94 series..
      I like the newer ones, open up so you can get to the radiator and everything else..

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the newer they get it seems like maintenance gets easier but actually repairing anything on them gets worse. The 1394 has a tilt hood I think the 90 series had the same thing, so it was definitely around that time.

      I was surprised how well the paint came back really, even put a shine on it. Would be that much better with wax too. The cat is pretty frustrating, hopefully we get it sorted I'd like to use it haha

    How's she goin'? Lots going on and getting the stuff that makes the grass greener spread!!! LOL Computers on a tractor are probably good, but when they mess up, it's not so simple to repair eh!!! Take care and thanks for sharing!!!

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No it’s hard chasing issues when it comes to computers in them there is so many sensors and switches it all connects together and it doesn’t take much to foul it up haha

  • @dehavenfamilyfarm
    @dehavenfamilyfarm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Glad to see the tractor in action. Does it have wheel weights, or loaded tires? If not, maybe that would help with the spreader pushing the tractor around :) My problem is I talk to much LOL

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol. Yeah the rear tires on it are loaded. Someone said duals would probably help, might try that if I find some tires.

    The new Massey sounds great Mac, did it have more power than the 1105

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it did, more power but in that case the better transmission makes more of a difference than the 10hp advantage on the 6280 in my opinion. The White and 6280 are a pretty fair comparison as the have the exact same transmission.

    Air seats usually have a a weight restriction on them so whoever sin it the first time must have been slightly heavier than the recommended weight

    Really great video, you're getting plenty of work done. Is your farm reclaimed from the forest/scrub? Have you more land that you can clear?

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes at some point it would have been all forrest but the farm has been around for a long time. We've been clearing more land since the 1970's, maybe even before that. We do have more land we can clear, we did some last year and we are planning on doing more this fall.

    We have a MF 6280 as well but when it’s working hard, let’s say on a large agitator, it always runs very hot, yours the same ?

    • @macfarms

      It seems warmer than the White does but the temp gauge doesn’t seem to be working so I need to get that fixed

  • @noelcahill6707

    Wat model massey would you say is the most bullet proof out there mate

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mechanically the Beauvais built 3000/3100/3600 series as well as the later 6100/8100 and 6200/8200 series tractors are all pretty well bulletproof, it’s the electronics on them that can let them down. The Coventry built masseys, 300 series, 4200 and 4300 series had fewer electronics on them so in my opinion less to go wrong. But they were also a smaller frame tractor and had less power than the French built tractors. So I guess my final answer would be any of the 300 series tractors are about the toughest Massey put out, maybe the long way of getting to that but it’s a thought provoking question for sure.

    • @noelcahill6707
      @noelcahill6707 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@macfarms here in ireland the 390 was a huge tractor very reliable but to look at the later tractors they werent that great in on the look out for a 100 hp tractor john deeres are gone off the map prices wise so im looking at new holland and masseys

    • @macfarms
      @macfarms  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      399 would be about 95hp, they are big money though it seems. 4270 and 4370 are very similar, nicer cabs. The 6100 series over there had the power shuttle which was problematic? We never had those ours just had the mechanical shuttle like the 3000 series did. But the 6200 series like this one were great, look at the fleet farmer Phil runs, they have heaps of hours on them.
