    Thank you so much. A great comprehensive review. I bought a 8 channel NVR and I am going to upgrade it to 16 channel one by Reolink and your video helped a lot. Highly appreciated.

    Thanks for the review. A lot of reviews are filled with fluff and waste time, but yours was great!

      Thank you. It’s always a challenge putting a lot of detail in at the risk of putting people to sleep, or being just a glorified unboxing…

    I recently install one of these and 9 ReoLink cameras. so far so good. Only negative comment is the app on my Mac hangs up occasionally - especially waking up from power saving mode.

    Thanks for the video. How’s the noise coming from the nvr? Thinking of installing one in the closet.

    I am interested in this set up, do you have any videos explaining how to set up the cameras through the LAN?

    I was soooo hoping that this was rack mountable.

    As you not using the ports on the device (Rj45) if you plug extra cameras will it recognize the extra over 16 cameras ?

    Thanks for the unboxing. I am looking to purchase this as currently I am using Synology with my REOLINK cameras around the house. Does the RLN16-410 allow for access through your web browser or only the phone app?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Access can be achieved through a browser, Reolink PC app or smart phone (Reolink app).

    Great review buddy, was wondering if the cameras rlc 811a are compatible with this nvr? Tia

    It sucks that the remote interface isn't just the same thing. To utilize the full interface, you have to locate the device somewhere accessible where it can easily be stolen in a break-in! I'd like to stick it in my attic. Any warnings on that? Does it automatically power up after a power interruption? Any need to physically interact with it? Etc

    I have the 8ch Reolink NVR now and planning to upgrade to 16 ch ( RLN16-410 4K ) I was concern about the fan noise. The 8ch. has no fan and no noise at all. How loud the the fan noise and how often it tur on ? Btw thx for the great review.

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what sort of background noise there is. If you put your ear close to it, yeah you can hear it but it certainly isn’t anything that I would call loud. Most of the background noise in the room completely covers any fan noise up. Also, the fan runs constantly.

      I have this unit and not sure if it’s the fan or the HD..but it’s definitely loud for the bedroom…had to set it up in the garage

      @@OwlStudio73 I just changed my two hard drives to 8tb SSDs. I am hoping with the hard drive heat out I can run without the fan. I see there is a small heatsink on some of the chips. Might need to replace with a larger one. I may mod the case to use a larger slower fan where one of the drives used to be.

    Nice review.. I have a Lorex NVR 3mp system that is about 4 years old and has started to have blurry night ghosting on moving images. So I've looking around for a new system and I have been seeing good reviews and ratings about reolink. What's the highest recording fps? Also do other brand PoE cameras connect to it through cat5 ports? T.i.a.

  • @robertpaquette1207
    @robertpaquette1207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You say you do not need to connect the cameras to the NVR as long as their are connected to the network. Does that mean you have to connect them to a POE network switch if not did you lose the audio and did you connect a separate power supply to the cameras?

  • @froe31061
    @froe31061 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great Review, I noticed that when viewing my cameras in display mode 8 I get a blurry image on the larger image than on the smaller blocks did you experience the same problem?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is the larger image defaulting to a lower resolution? That is the only time I notice a difference.

  • @AZTechLabs

    Cheaper to buy REolink straight from their site. Like way cheaper than Amazon. Amazon are drop shippers not Reolink themselves.

  • @drcamp8843

    Do the cams appear as single devices in your LAN behind the NVR or do they „disappear“ and you cant access them one by one anymore?

    • @overclockersclub
      @overclockersclub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I connect them directly to the NVR, then you don't seem them individually. If they are connected to switches (PoE and non PoE) and the NVR is simply connected to the network via its ethernet connection, then the cameras are visible through the NVR and as individual cameras - if all that makes sense...

    • @drcamp8843
      @drcamp8843 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@overclockersclub Thank you! I wanted to use the NVR but also ansalyse the RTSP individually. So I need to use my switch to get their IPs.

      @@drcamp8843 Yes - that is what I would call "the easy way". There may be other ways that I am unaware of.

    I have this and would never buy it again. Support is horrible. 6 month old equipment is not upgradable to support 12mp camera.
