      Hi Faith. I have a question about the Bible and was looking for some guidance. I’ve been watching all you’re videos and thought you could provide some clarity on this biblical question. I’m reading and studying the whole Bible and am currently in Joshua chapter 7. My question is why didn’t God give Achan another chance after he had sinned? It seems like In the Old Testament God didn’t give many second chances. Kinda like when Noah was unable to enter the promised land after he had sinned. Do you think you could explain this. Thanks so much and god bless.

    Hey Faith! I really enjoyed this video! I’ve watched it several times now. I’m hoping you’ll do a deeper dive into this color-coding system in a future video. I would love to watch you do it in your Bible. I guess I’m one of those students that need to see it to fully internalize it, lol. Thanks for all your hard work!

    Thanks faith, I am doing your Bible reading plan(unfortunately I have feel pretty far behind). When I was reading about the flood, It was like a light bulb came on and I had to stop. I found myself wondering if there was a connection between the flood waters and Baptism. Well, I started to study and BAM it hit me. As with the flood, people died because of there sins. When we are Baptized, we die to our sinful selves as well. I am 46 and have known this story for as long as I can remember but have never made that connection. I like what my Bible Knowledge Commentary said, "The flood washes creation of humanity's evil in order to give Noah and his family a clean slate with which to start anew. In the same way, the waters of Baptism bring us to new life- but they do so by causing us to die in order that we may be raised up as new creations. There is no Resurrection without the Crucifixion. In Baptism we share in both- we die with Christ so that we might also live with him." I was very excited to make this connection, I felt that by studying and going deeper, that I am better able to understand more in depth like never before. I would never of made that connection without your reading plan for one(because I wouldn't have been reading it). Nor would I have totally been able to study it without you telling us about your own commentaries. FOR ALL THAT, thank you Faith for everything you do for us viewers. Your dedication to our Fathers word is always appreciated! As 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, "Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless". You my Dear sister in Christ NEVER EVER forget this. God Bless you and your Family Faith.

    Thanks Faith! It's fun to come to a premiere ❤ I really liked how you said that's it's important for us not to place ourselves in the scripture as we read and to avoid making it "self- centered" instead of Christ- centered. I've seen that alot in certain teaching and preaching. So that was a valuable point. Have a blessed weekend!

    Been reading this book for our interpretation module in Bible college and while I understood it, I didn't grasp it until you explained it perfectly in this video. Came at the right time too when I've finally found a markup system to help along my Bible studies. Just started the book of Jonah because you mentioned it and already I see the immense value of this system. It's already humbling my heart posture towards the LORD and all that He is and does. I've been that individual more times than I'd like to admit that used eisegesis in my time spent in the Word. I have a blessed hope that from now on the LORD is going to be the main focus when reading scripture and not me. A little too late but got to start somewhere. Hopefully we see a video down the line of you expanding on this, maybe a short Bible study if you have the time... Thank you so much Faith for everything I love watching every one of your videos and I cannot wait to meet you in Heaven! Much love and blessings. Nicky from Ireland 🇮🇪🥰🙏🏼✝️✝️✝️

    You explain ideas and concepts very clearly and Biblically, Faith. Always. I appreciate when you share the resources which have taught you so that we may benefit by having that same resource. I purchased the "Culteral Background...,"and I can't wait to receive it. My best friend wants to have a copy as well. I'm going to bring it to church with me. (In the past, I only received cultural background info from my Pastor's teaching.)

    • @HowtoFaithALife
      @HowtoFaithALife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a good resource! Not all of the notes are from a Christian worldview, but that's why they are so powerful, they are from the anthropological world and it's really rich with info!

    Thanks for your continued videos, I do appreciate them! I believe that you have given info on this before but I can’t find the video in which you talked of it. I’m wondering about a Bible commentary on the cultural background of the Bible? Can you recommend one to me? I am doing your Bible reading plan and would love to have more cultural background awareness. Thanks!

    This is a wonderful & timely video! I am reading through Job right now. Job, oh Job! This book has always been a hard one to read through. I don’t know if it’s the literary writing of it, but I always have a hard time reading & understanding what I am reading. 😕 Thank God for commentaries, but I feel it’s still vague to me. I am currently at Chapter 34. 33 chapters and I still feel like “huh?” 😕

    Wow. I thought it was just sexual sin was the reason Sodom and Gamorrah were destroyed. But now that I think about, if it was so corrupt, obviously there were other terrible things going on. I hope you are doing well!

    I’m dissapointed. Began chronologically reading. I even got the “Bible recap” to go along and hopefully gain understanding as I read. Well, I’ve gotten pretty quick to a point t where I can’t answer the simple questions in the recap. I don’t know if I’m ever 😖 going to get into the Bible and understand it or “enjoy” it. ( she says sarcastically)
    Please don’t recommend I begin with something sweet like 🤷🏻‍♀️ “John.” My goal is to read the whole Bible and get those treasures and the comfort and the joy and be able to put it ALL together. Not just apply the well know nuggets of pleasure scripture.
    I think I’m just going to have to kind of scrap the Bible recap thing. It’s making me discouraged when it is proposed as being “the” thing that is sooo helpful. 😢

      Hey Linda! Maybe try getting the life application Bible or a study Bible. When I first began my walk, I had the NLT study Bible and then I got the parallel Bible that had the study Bible and life application Bible. It helped me a lot! Give it time and give yourself grace. Understanding will come. Hope this helps 💜
