Have been using the 3A, but a bit reluctant to go with the 5, as I've had a few hardware issues. That said, I got the iPhone 12 PRO yesterday, and don't really like how it feels in my hands, despite having large hands. Also, prefer Android (now)....gonna decide this weekend whether to return the 12 Pro and try the Pixel 5.
Wow I love this review!! I recently purchased an iPhone 12 pro and I am not impressed with the camera quality at all especially portrait. Prior to purchasing the iPhone I had a pixel 2xl and I love that camera still till this day. I'm actually thinking about returning the iPhone and purchasing the pixel phone.
Have you tried taking portraits in 1x? I found depending on our distance from the subject they can come out better. Also, night mode auto applies in 1x, but doesn't work in 2x portrait.
I'd say the Pixel is worth a try and tough to beat for portraits. If you don't care about 5G and want to save some $$, then the 4a is a good option. Just no wide angle. I'd say try and be sure you can return with no fees from wherever you purchase from.

How is it with moving objects and pictures? I got so excited that I still have to finish the video. I tried to take pictures of my toddler on the iPhone and they're about 90% blurry in the face but I never had this issue with my pixel 2.
I suppose it depends on how fast your little one moves. 😉 I can say that I've taken photos of my little niece and they come out nice on both, but my sister liked the Pixel photos more and she didn't know what took them.

I have IP 11. I’m actually thinking about getting pixel5 never had pixel phone before. I like the more neutral/natural look of pixel photos. If now this year, who know maybe next year Pixel.

Not as good as iPhone, and not quite as good as the Pixel 4. It's pretty close to Pixel 4 to me, but a lot of people seem to think otherwise, so who knows.
iPhone 12 Pro pictures are taken by HDR mode on or off? By default HDR mode is ON as a result it brings warmer tone, so you should disable HDR mode Off to bring cooler and accurate colour.
A heavyweight fight for sure, Pixel 5 last all 12 rounds and won by a close margin. Impressive! Portrait mode Pixel 5 delivered way way better bokeh, colors, sharpness. I felt the Pixel 5 was superior handling large one color areas without over-exposing. On video, I felt 12 Pro was better holding truer color, more evident when zooming. I give it a win to 12 Pro on video mode. *Do remember, everyone will see the review video overall different from their phones. The same way TVs deliver different colors for the same image in a show room floor.

It is tragic that google didn't use one of the more recent sony sensors in the pixel 5. Great hardware plus it's incredible computational photography would have resulted in the best camera in the market.

In my opinion the Apple iPhone12 shows more details sometimes, but the colours of the pixel 5 are more natural. The pixel is much cheaper than the iPhone. I think I would go with the google Pixel5.

I agree with several comments, the pixel is like 4, $500 cheaper yet these pictures tell the truth the pixel camera is just as good if not better, I can't lie I had the iPhone 10 it was all hype finally got frustrated and sold it, tried Motorola g7 play, just okay so I sold it brought a used pixel 2xl and let me tell you this is probably till this day camera wise a beast, my next phone I'm getting is the Huawei p20 pro can't wait most of these companies are robbing us, I've learned my lesson for,sho!

The audio on the iphone video is bad on the opening segment. But later on front facing video the iphone audio sounds better. The still images are good from both. I generally like the exposure and color on the pixel photos better. Iphone seems to have jumped on the "Brighter is better bandwagon". I think the pixel still does a better job in night mode.
Some comparisons the iphone is ahead and its really close. In this one the pixel 5 wiped the floor with the iphone in most of the shots imo. Even video at least in day time id go as far as to say it was equal to the iphone

I liked the photos on the pixel 5 more. The iphone 12 pro's camera's auto HDR makes everything look overly processed and artificial.

I assume you mean Pixel 5. The ultrawide can record 1080p 60fps, but not 4k 60fps.
