The idea of Laird being a gold digger feels right. She's been played as so money focused, her seeing marriage to someone with money as a stepping stone for power makes so much sense. And if the partner she takes doesn't last long, all the better for her.
I feel like marrying the billionaire 1. isn't foolproof, you do have to kind of work for it, and 2. allows you to focus more on the for rent pack and really just managing the tenants instead of doing a bunch of side stuff to get there first. I also feel like that money will be gone faster than most people think and then you have to manage all the properties with no money.
Well if he renovates atleast 1 apartment building with 1 mill dollars that will generate a decent amount of rent so the apartment maintains itself. And he can work on the other apartment buildings with a steady income.
As a long time watcher of the bigwallets, I think it is totally reasonable to marry for the simoleons in this series given how much the buildings cost.
Marry Sugar Daddy Abernathy! It's really in Laird's character to get a good deal when she finds it, and what's a better deal that to marry a dying millionaire and be paid to do so? Remember that active household's ageing is off though, so he might need an unfortunate accident 👀
IDEA! 💡 Since you have to load into the renters apartment everytime, what would be a awesome goal is to own a rental in every single world! Then each world can have its own theme, example the island living, can be coastal apartments. Eco life style can be shipping container rentals, (maybe small scale lol) Snowy Escape can be Japanese inspired, Jungle Adventure maybe a Aztec vibe, strangerville could be a trailer park, Realm of Magic I'm thinking castle vibes, vampires can be a gothic apartment, idk I thought that would be freakin awesome.
P.S. Marry him! Have a "sugar daddy" within a lets play. lmao (Also he is an elder so, it would be so sad if he maybe died and left you millions, and you had to remarry... 👀)
DOOO IT!!!! Marry the rich guy! Honestly, once you buy a few properties with the money you're still going to be struggling for a bit, especially before the rent money starts coming in. And you'll still need to spend a boat load to renovate the Bigwallet restaurant into apartments. I also like the idea of Laird buying it as is and then renovating it, rather than it being renovated before she purchases it
Yes! I put a full kitchen in my shared spaces but I always put a convection oven on top of a mini fridge to boost the ratings. I’ve noticed my Sims will usually use the big kitchen anyways since it has counters. (I think it’s a pathing and fulfilling autonomous animation thing in the algo)
I was worried for the first couple episodes, but Sims with the Cringe trait are immune to death from laughter. Which is fortunate, since mine are just as frequently hysterical as Laird.
Honestly tho, Laird doesn't seem to be such a good person... Being a landlord, kicking out the tenant who has nothing, thinking about marrying for even more money...
Glercia is a glutton, she's attracted to Laird for her food. Glercia buys 10 things from Laird's food stall and then took her out to restaurants to eat and didn't care what Laird was doing. 😂 Laird is sort of toxic too, I wouldn't mind an evil power couple, but Glercia is meh. She just wants food!

Glames for the win!!!! (in the end) But def marry Abernathy first!!! He looks like he needs some company in his golden years. AND have his baby. He deserves that at least since we're only going for the $$$ lol
Let Laird embrace the Gold Digger Deal! It's the only R2R where you've really considered wanting/using the lottery money, and it'll be gone fast. It totally fits Lairds character to take a good deal and ake it Way better for her, and they do actually have good compatibility from what I saw in the Sim Profile. And who knows, maybe there's a deeper story to be seen after the initial gold digging intent, considering the played household has aging off we have time to see.
Glershia (no idea on spelling) is an alien. Any time someone discovers she's an alien, she will erase their memory of her and that makes her dazed. It's an autonomous mischief interaction. Whenever I play aliens, I have to disable mischief or my alien sim will wipe her human husband's memory and they won't be married anymore.
I was wondering how to get rid of that! My sim had an alien son and when he grew up I moved him out, but we meet sometimes and one of those times he wiped my memory of him 😂 I had to cheat it back, but it even happened again sometime later. I tried using MCCC to disable autonomy for that specific interaction, but I couldn't find it on the list. Do you have to forbid all mischief interactions? I don't think I know how to do it 😬
James, thank you so much for recommending the woodworking mod! In my current playthrough, I went with lots of diving for deals, woodworking and fabrication. Tiny home and going green. Pretty much everything in my sim's house is either made by her, or pulled from the trash 😅. And she opened a store where she sells furniture she makes, gets from trash and the City Living festival, to pursue her passion for upcycled and custom made furniture. It's so much fun 😊.
I feel like the hardest part ─ arguably the real challenge of this R2R ─ will be to keep the apartments with high ratings and good maintenance, without constant revolts every single week, so maybe getting a little financial boost won't be a problem.
I still like the idea of having Laird work her way up renovating the properties she already has. Having Laird be a black widow would fit her personality since she grew up with the richest Bigwallet family and she would want to live that lifestyle again, but she's not materialistic. If she does marry Jacob, she could buy the hotel to get down to zero simoleons and then use that rental income to upgrade the buildings she already owns. Then when she gets those done she could buy the apartment complex she's currently living in and then save up for the Painted Ladies and the more expensive builds. It would be pretty cool if she could own one building in each world and then have a worldwide real estate empire. Then maybe become immortal like Reginald so she can manage everything while the generations continue.
All the fancy stuff found in the dumpster should be used to the upstairs apartment that is getting fixed at some point and have that pull in all the money
I vote marry Jacob Abernathy for the money (and then eventually maybe Glames). Also I'm pretty sure she met Jacob Abernathy on her date with Glercia this episode, or at least that he was there, so it's extra fitting for story.
Good luck on the smog vacuum. When you get to a certain point in the career, you can submit designs and I think you can sometimes get fabrication patterns from them and one is the smog vacuum. Getting the smog vacuum without cheating is going to take sim years. I never got it without cheating. Get at least level 5 in the career, then submit at least 1 excellent design, then buy the darn thing from debug, place on selling table, clear table.
This is not entirely true. My Sim got the smog vacuum while in the career, without cheats. I don't use them. It took maybe 10 submissions? I had her always focused/very focused while doing the designs, and if the result wasn't excellent, I had her rework it. I will say that it took her a awhile in game, maybe a several weeks? It was not a quick thing to achieve. Being focused is highly recommended!
You should create a club for your neighbors and choose the activities play cards, swim in pool, play hopscotch, do laundry, socialize, and the other activities that are available at the building. That way they might be more active around the house and not be invisible all the time. What do you think?
I say go for the money and renovate all the apartments and give Laird a penthouse suite! And then once Jacob *mysteriously disappears*, she finds the one that she truly loves
He'd definitely have to do more than what he's doing now that's for sure lol He'd need to move to painting or something and start selling on Plopsy or from his own business or maybe even dip back into the Trendi thing.
if you put the for rent sign on the property, which the game says a rental wont function properly if you dont, you can change the visual to no vacancy and people wont be moved in automatically. EDIT: i loaded up my game, and guess what, there were tenants in a property i bought last night before i went to bed, with the sign and visual to no vacancy.... so.... the game is hateful and it doesnt work all the time lol... i apologize. its worked till opened my yapper and said something :P
Do you happen to have MC Command Center mod in your game? I'm wondering if that's what is moving in people into empty lots, without taking into consideration that it's a rental.
None of that is even close to true XD You don't need the sign, they even said it on the livestream iirc, and the "no vacancy" thing is literally just a fun visual thing for the player and has no gameplay value lol
A workaround for restaurant and bar staff (specifically hosts & mixologists) not spawning is to disable the "Sims begin opted out of fame" option and reload (and then you can re-enable it). It's a known issue atm. Also, if you keep the bedroom number at 0 for apartments you're not ready to have filled (by the game or MCCC), they won't auto-fill.
One of my daily routine before bed time is to check TH-cam for any new videos by James. Even TH-cam knows it because whenever I open TH-cam, the first video will always be James’ new video, I don’t even have to go into my subscription tab. 😂
I started to play the sims 4 for rent and eco lifestyle goes really does go well with it. I learned that it's just best to have the apartments have most of the appliances and shared spaces just as a place of entertainment is better. I also make surrounding lots have different things for the sims to interact with. I even made a whole lot into a bathhouse😂.
I think that marrying for the money even if's a million, is a good idea because these building cost so much! Would be great to get the Bigwallet Emporium first. That place is iconic!!! Also, to move forward on the aspiration maybe it's time to move someware else and with a rule to be broken ;) Thank you James for making these videos; they're always the best moment of my day. Wish they would be more frequent but I'm happy otherwise. Have a nice time off :)
I’m finally catching up and watching Lady Bigwallet the first from the beginning… James has always been amazing but it’s so fun to have joined the family so far into their journey and now to be able and go back see (or not because no face cam for TH-cam in those days) baby James. Thank you for all you have taught us about this game, and through you I found Dr Gluon and Deli and Zues…what a creative and fun bunch!
Yes to marrying Jacob. It's unconventional for a rags to riches but makes sense for the story and Laird. And the marriage doesn't have to be for too long if he's an elder and aging is put on 👀
James, when you mentioned making a list, I had a flashback to that episode of (if I remember correctly, apologies if that's not the case) The Super Sim Challenge - Season 1. In that episode you did an improv set up of your camera and made a handwrited list of the things people were suggesting in the comments. Loved that
I think you're right, it's time to change the game; MARRY THE MILLIONAIRE, JAMES!!! Get that dough!!!!! 🤣 If you want it to still be challenging for a while, maybe put most of the money in a secret vault somewhere and only take a certain sum out under certain conditions/milestones achieved?
You should visit Glercia's apartment. What if her apartment got filled with mold before you turned the lot challenge off and it's still there? Maybe that's why she's always dazed. Could pop by real quick and check it out.
I had sims moving into my apartments when I didn't want them to as well. I wish there was a toggle that turner a unit active and inactive. The game does move sims in. You have to use neighborhood stories to stop it. Also: Please seduce Abernathy and get tons of money! That's a storyline you've never played in this family!
Half the time when I watch James I have other tasks to complete and I look away for two seconds and I look back and wonder what in the fluff I missed 😂……the other half of the time I can devote all my attention and fully understand what just happened 😅
I think it makes sense and is fun for the lets play to go for the marrige, in real life making money off renting out apartments you need a huge chunk of cash to start out too and honestly once the money is spent on buying some properties the return in rent doesn't seem to be that huge anyway 🧐
If you move tenants in and you briefly switch households, you can decorate that apartment. I've only done it through an npc and i think it gives access to free build. correct me if im wrong on which funds it uses which means you dont need to evict in order to upgrade the apartments and up the rent
37:19 you can see where Jacob lives when you press on the mccc button. It tells you the name, age, if they’re married, how many kids they have and where they live too.
YES!!!! Marry Jacob! lol Marry Him then once he "passes away" (possibly via woohoo since he is old) He will go out with a bang and whatever building you buy you should then name that apartment complex in honor of him and his legendary contribution to the Bigwallet Legacy. Who knows maybe Laird will have that mans baby (if she gets pregnant before he passes) then she and Glames eventually get married and he adpots that love child as his own? Love the Bigwallet Legacy btw
i think laird should marry abernathy! he's just another deal she's diving for 😉 plus i really want to see you own all of those buildings and run a massive rent empire, which i feel like would be a massive grind otherwise
Hi James, I just finished watching the all Lots challenges challenge and in the last video, you asked for ideas on what to do to remove challenges if you do it again. But it is a long while back so I was not sure if you would read comments there so commenting here ^^ it was a fun series to watch. On his Quest to perfection, Simage has used and hurt many Sims. Now it all comes back on him. Create a town where everyone hates Simage and a haunted house lot with all lot challenges and a small hut. You get the cheapest bed, chairs, table, bathroom appliances, etc. and then delete the rest of the money. To upgrade them you have to gift the item you want in your house or something of similar value to another sim that is not in your household first. Off the grid - Simage is hated even by the power company - get a perfect reputation and donate a certain amount of simoleons to get rid of this challenge Cursed - How many Sims died for Simages quest for perfection? - bring back 10 sims to live. If any sims die on your lot during the challenge those will be added to the total Filthy - it is always the maids and the butlers who had to clean for him - find 3 sims that work as maids or butlers and throw 5 gold-ranked dinner parties for them. All 3 sims have to attend or it doesn't count. You can hire maids to find out who is a maid but you have to send them back before they clean anything. You can not make use of maid, butler or nanny before this challenge is removed Gremlins - even the gremlins curse Simage - reach lv 10 of handiness and gift 3 fully upgraded items to other sims, you can only raise your handiness by repairing things on the lot. No upgrading for yourself until this challenge is removed Grody - Remember the gnomes from the harvest fest? They are mad at you! Get a complete collection, wait for the harvest fest, and appease all of them to remove this lot challenge Quake Zone - The earth is mad at you for ignoring it. Have one of each plant on your Lot. THey have to be at least of excellent quality Spooky - The Ghosts of all Simages unhappy, ignored or forgotten children - Have 7 infants age up and get the top-notch infant trait. Simple living - Stealing food from others is not a good thing - give it back! Throw 5 gold star dinner parties. The food served has to be gourmet meals. Wild foxes - get best friends with 5 barn animals or chicken Reduce and Recycle - still thinking Volcanic Activity - get a complete fossil and stone collection Creepy Crawlies - also still thinking You can change from haunted house to residential as soon as the Spooky and Cursed challenges are gone Would love to see the series come back ^^
I had the same issue with the restaurants. What I had to do was turn off the automatic opt out of fame and restart my game. For whatever reason restaurants functioning properly was tied to that.
u get my blessing james! to go after abernathy! cus like u said, those buildings are valued a whole lot of money. yup and it is fun to change it up a lil bit instead of being so strict with the rags to riches rules!
I think Laird should marry Jacob, but can't touch his money until he dies... and you can't turn on aging! For extra difficulty, you can't control him, so you'd have to invest in telescope, cowplant, murphy bed etc and hope he uses them
Marry him! I have this whole story in my mind that I'd play. They have a whirlwind romance & she doesn't know he has money. He passes & he's left her his fortune. She doesn't wanna spend it frivolously, so she saves & works hard, eventually naming her largest estate after him. She meets someone at some point & is reluctant to fall in love again, but ultimately does & has a nice family to carry on the Bigwallet legacy. That's a short version of my story 😅
James, you have MCCC. Use that to find out where people live. It's a pain in the butt to go through every town just to find one person lol also I think that if you really want to buy all the buildings that you were talking about you should go for marrying the millionaire. He's gonna end up going soon anyway given that ageing is turned on.
11:00 do you have get fame turned off? I think you need to turn it back on so you can get a table at the restaurant. Because this solve my problem for me. 😊
100% marry Jacob, move into his place, don't use any of his money on your current buildings (as best you can) and take the money and buy the hotel with his money when he passes. As an extra challenge, buy it unfurnished or partially unfurnished so you still have to furnish it with the crafting table/dumpster diving/smog vacuum.
Oooh tough call. I want to see both. Can we do a sliding doors situation and do one save where Laird marries Abernathy and one where she continues to struggle? 😆
Yes! Marry Abernathy, it suits Laird and her journey towards landlord takeover. Plus you could stage an unfortunate accident as other comments suggested and not have to worry about having another sim in the household
I forsee James making a huge bougie apartment with the golden bathroom and everything and he'll still get tenants complaining about poor living conditions. He'll be like "You have a golden toilet! What do you mean your living conditions are poor!"
Laird totally gives the vibe that even tho she's hard working and used to not having much, she has ambitious goals and can only see them, so she would totally marry for money, ONLY to push her dreams of landlairdyness forward :) This has never been done in your R2R series so would be fun!
Yesss, marry Jacob Abernathy! What a cool storyline for the Bigwallets. Maybe you can make some restrictions for it like he had made some kind of will or trust for her with restrictions. Every time she fulfills one of your challenges, she gets some of the cash. And some has to get saved in the safe, maybe.

You should create a club for your neighbors and choose the activities play cards, swim in pool, play hopscotch, do laundry, socialize, and the other activities that are available at the building. That way they might be more active around the house and not be invisible all the time. What do you think?
Leave it to James to have to deal with squatters taking over his rental apartments.
100% marry the rich old guy! :-) This is a great series!
I think she should try the lottery guy as she'll use it up anyway..!
“I don’t care about kicking them out, look at them they have nothing” that’s a classic landlord attitude right there 😂
Not Team Jacob having a whole new meaning 😂
I say go for the money and renovate all the apartments and give Laird a penthouse suite! And then once Jacob *mysteriously disappears*, she finds the one that she truly loves
I would love to see Laird marry Abernathy - the money will be spent almost immediately! :D
I literally cheered out loud when you said you were going to turn the Bigwallet building into apartments!
At first I thought you said "wrench to riches" and honestly you wouldn't be wrong there. Always love seeing a new video pop up from you, James!
I'm all for it, marry the millionare!! I really don't see how else you'll make enough money to buy all those buildings anyway
Laird NEEDS a sugar daddy! It makes so much sense for her
I also find if you upgrade things in the apartment like sinks, toilets etc. Make them self cleaning, unbreakable etc it really helps too.
I'd definitely like to see you trying to run that enormous hotel, that'll be real chaos😂😂😂
I say marry Jacob Abernathy and use the money for new property :D Maybe we have a baby black widow on our hands :D
James where are you?!!?!???
have a nice break, James. hopefully you can relax and have fun👋👋
If you have MCCC installed, you can also check where they live over that ^^ its at the top if you open the window c:
Do It, marry Jacob for money and after he 💀 marry for love lol
If you want it to still be challenging for a while, maybe put most of the money in a secret vault somewhere and only take a certain sum out under certain conditions/milestones achieved?
You should visit Glercia's apartment. What if her apartment got filled with mold before you turned the lot challenge off and it's still there? Maybe that's why she's always dazed. Could pop by real quick and check it out.
I had sims moving into my apartments when I didn't want them to as well. I wish there was a toggle that turner a unit active and inactive. The game does move sims in. You have to use neighborhood stories to stop it.
Also: Please seduce Abernathy and get tons of money! That's a storyline you've never played in this family!
Marrying Abernathy is a hustle, and Laird is a hussler! Dooo it. Laird says, "I do (it)!"
I say marry Mr. Abernathy! Otherwise, I can easily see burn out trying to get all the money to buy all the properties.
James the maintenance will go up quite fast when you upgrade the household objects like showers, fridges and so on once in a while :)
Definitely marry the lottery Sim! He's an elder, it's perfect 😈
Half the time when I watch James I have other tasks to complete and I look away for two seconds and I look back and wonder what in the fluff I missed 😂……the other half of the time I can devote all my attention and fully understand what just happened 😅
Yes to marrying the rich guy, we need to buy the Bigwallet Emporium!!!
I think it makes sense and is fun for the lets play to go for the marrige, in real life making money off renting out apartments you need a huge chunk of cash to start out too and honestly once the money is spent on buying some properties the return in rent doesn't seem to be that huge anyway 🧐
Marry Abernethy! then when he passes, marry glames. also loved the worst date ever with her being near death hysterical throughout it all lol
If you move tenants in and you briefly switch households, you can decorate that apartment. I've only done it through an npc and i think it gives access to free build. correct me if im wrong on which funds it uses which means you dont need to evict in order to upgrade the apartments and up the rent
18 seconds ago, i need to stop stalking youtube 😭
I'm at 12mins and I'm usually at an hr or two lmao
I think you should do it, as you said it would be something a bit different. And I would love to see how much your bills would be after owning them!
i think laird should marry abernathy! he's just another deal she's diving for 😉 plus i really want to see you own all of those buildings and run a massive rent empire, which i feel like would be a massive grind otherwise
Off the grid - Simage is hated even by the power company - get a perfect reputation and donate a certain amount of simoleons to get rid of this challenge
Cursed - How many Sims died for Simages quest for perfection? - bring back 10 sims to live. If any sims die on your lot during the challenge those will be added to the total
Filthy - it is always the maids and the butlers who had to clean for him - find 3 sims that work as maids or butlers and throw 5 gold-ranked dinner parties for them. All 3 sims have to attend or it doesn't count. You can hire maids to find out who is a maid but you have to send them back before they clean anything. You can not make use of maid, butler or nanny before this challenge is removed
Gremlins - even the gremlins curse Simage - reach lv 10 of handiness and gift 3 fully upgraded items to other sims, you can only raise your handiness by repairing things on the lot. No upgrading for yourself until this challenge is removed
Grody - Remember the gnomes from the harvest fest? They are mad at you! Get a complete collection, wait for the harvest fest, and appease all of them to remove this lot challenge
Quake Zone - The earth is mad at you for ignoring it. Have one of each plant on your Lot. THey have to be at least of excellent quality
Spooky - The Ghosts of all Simages unhappy, ignored or forgotten children - Have 7 infants age up and get the top-notch infant trait.
Simple living - Stealing food from others is not a good thing - give it back! Throw 5 gold star dinner parties. The food served has to be gourmet meals.
Wild foxes - get best friends with 5 barn animals or chicken
Reduce and Recycle - still thinking
Volcanic Activity - get a complete fossil and stone collection
Creepy Crawlies - also still thinking
You can change from haunted house to residential as soon as the Spooky and Cursed challenges are gone
Would love to see the series come back ^^
Gave the VIP bucket to the apartment with single beds and no other whoohoo spot 😂
Use the plants to put in the recycler. Gives you lots of bits or pieces (can't remember which)
Marry the rich guy! I love that for Laird.
She has big dreams and everyone needs a little help sometime lol
I had the same issue with the restaurants. What I had to do was turn off the automatic opt out of fame and restart my game. For whatever reason restaurants functioning properly was tied to that.
Perfect timing! Done with dinner and BOOM! New episode!! :D
u get my blessing james! to go after abernathy! cus like u said, those buildings are valued a whole lot of money. yup and it is fun to change it up a lil bit instead of being so strict with the rags to riches rules!
I think Laird should marry Jacob, but can't touch his money until he dies... and you can't turn on aging!
For extra difficulty, you can't control him, so you'd have to invest in telescope, cowplant, murphy bed etc and hope he uses them
I love this! I think you unlocked a new build challenge, “Building the most deadly apartment”
No need for all that, just invite him over to a BBQ at the cursed grill!
Just wohoo him a couple of times!
@@PeaceNLoveNRockNRoll88 Better yet, try for baby several times, at least it might give the guy a legacy.
Love this idea!
MARRY THAT OLD MAN! (Also be REALLY careful because rental lots are corrupting saves right and left, especially ones with more than 6 units)
id say go for the mill!! You've never done it before and this would be the perfect expansion to do it
100% marry Jacob, move into his place, don't use any of his money on your current buildings (as best you can) and take the money and buy the hotel with his money when he passes. As an extra challenge, buy it unfurnished or partially unfurnished so you still have to furnish it with the crafting table/dumpster diving/smog vacuum.
I've forgotten how beautiful Alison's restaurant was! I love industrial
MARRRYYYY HIMMMM!! That is iconic that you know someone who won Lottery!!! Do it 😅
Also, he has an awesome last name "Abernathy" it would be funny when you will mispronouce it in future 😆
Oooh tough call. I want to see both. Can we do a sliding doors situation and do one save where Laird marries Abernathy and one where she continues to struggle? 😆
Do not put the burnt items in shared spaces. If you travel to another appartment it will fix itself too!
Definitely marry the lottery guy!
Some of the posters you can collect (for free) in San Myshuno have quite high enviroment. Maybe those could boost the rental scores?
Enjoy your break you deserve it!! 🎉❤
Yesss, marry Jacob Abernathy! What a cool storyline for the Bigwallets. Maybe you can make some restrictions for it like he had made some kind of will or trust for her with restrictions. Every time she fulfills one of your challenges, she gets some of the cash. And some has to get saved in the safe, maybe.
day three hope you're well it's not been over 10 days since you posted 💕 hope you're doing ok
look in community tab he is on vacation
@@andreawalejewski4942 thank you. for some reason I kept checking it but TH-cam was being stupid and not updating it. it wasn't until literally today that it showed me the most recent community post. ugh. glad to see he's totally fine :)
yeaaah please make Laird marry the rich guy!! it will progress the letsplay so well and also be interesting to watch. otherwise we are gonna be sitting here for years selling meals. also, i think its gonna be cool to make Laird live in one of her units at some point. we will see all of the tenants drama and stuff. xoxo
