    I think B777x not only will be the replecement for B7773ER but for those carriers retiring A380 and B747, the problem is, since Boeing is late about 5y now, some carriers already started to replace old planes for the A350 and they will not change back for the B777x, after Boeing's plane get in regular service.

    The Airbus A350 XWB is one of my two favorite next-generation wide-body aircrafts (alongside the Airbus A330neo) because of its tail and belly cameras, which can be used during taxi, takeoff, approach, and landing, or when my window shade is closed.

    Remember, the original A350-900 was intended to replace the 777-200ER, which it has done for several airlines. In fact, it appears British Airways may be contemplating a 25-plane A350-900 order to replace their now-aging 777-200ER fleet.
    The A350-1000 was intended as an eventual 777-300ER replacement; airlines with large 777-300ER fleets such as Air France, Emirates and Singapore Airlines may start to replace their larger 777-300ER fleets with the A350-1000 starting from circa 2026 on.

    It's not as extreme as the 747/A380 but it is still the same set of circumstances. The head start Boeing had on the large plane market was insurmountable for Airbus and is a major reason the A380 is considered a failure. As the 747 did before , the A350-1000 can own the segment before the 777-9 ever flies with passengers. Airbus got a little back.

      Problem for the 350-1000 are its RR engines, which cannot handle heat and sand like the 777-x's GE engines. The result is very high time not flying for many 350-1000 routes. Hence recently Emirates were expected to place a huge order for 350-1000s, but they placed the order with Boing for 777-X. The 350-1000 is a niche aeroplane that is a long way from achieving what the A-380 did. Emirates probably would like the A-380 to be still in production, it suited their business model.

    I hope they aren't wasting too much time and material on the A350-1000 as customers are looking forward to the production start of the A600 Airtrain. It is a brilliant innovative concept of several components of passenger and cargo aircraft, taking off separately, forming one long structure in the air with 1 or 2 of the cargo aircraft being fuel containers, enabling non-stop operations to every destination on this planet. Like a railway train, the passenger aircraft sections can separate and reach specific airports, while another aircraft can join, forming the Airtrain again. The same does apply to the cargo airplanes acting as fuel cells.
    Airbus is not too open about these A600 models. Patience, please. They just want to be sure that it will work.

    Interesting spin on the conversation. DJ is arguing that the 777-X has a tough road ahead because it's 10 years behind the A350, which is a clean sheet desigh, and because airlines who have relatively new 777s won't need the aircraft.
    It all sounds good until all the holes are poked into that theory. By the way, people have made the same argument to try and explain why the A330neo isn't moving so many units, but here are the holes:
    1. When compared to the A350-1000, the 777-9 has more than two times more orders, despite it being based on an older design. Go figure.
    2. Many of the 777-9 orders ARE from airlines who are already operators of a pretty sizeable 777 fleet, chief of all being Emirates.
    3. When you compare the clean sheet widebody aircraft from Boeing and those from Airbus, Boeing has twice as many of them in service, and also twice as many on order. Why wasn't that mentioned in this video? Because it was an attempt to highlight just what an awesome aircraft the A350-1000 is, which is actually true because I'm fortunate to have flown on the aircraft.
    The reason why the 777-9 is doing so well is size, not range. The Boeing jumbo can carry more passengers and cargo, and can connect just about any destination from the hubs of airlines that still use the hub and spoke system, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Project Sunrise is a niche service in a small market, so it's not going to appeal to hardly any other airlines connecting passengers to Australia.
    Airbus has tried so often to sell aircraft based on range, and this hasn't really been a successful strategy. Delta is unlikely to order the A350-1000, and notice that there hasn't been a huge order for the 777-9 in North America either, because airlines here operate more point to point than hub and spoke, so they don't really need that huge capacity. North American airlines make money by packing aircraft full as much as they can and they also don't offer customers luxury frills such as first class, a bar or shower in the sky, etc so they simply don't need all that space.
    The A350-1000 will do alright, but it will never match the passenger and cargo capacity of the 777-9, so it's not going to threaten that sector unless Airbus stretches it further.

    • @johniii8147
      @johniii8147 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with moth of what you said other than NA carriers are operating more point to point. That's actually not true. They are VERY focused on their hubs. The differarnce is as large the US is they have a lot of hubs. All the big 3 have 6 to 7 hubs each to flow traffic over. They don't have one massive hub that requires a huge airplane (ie EK or SQ).

    • @sainnt
      @sainnt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johniii8147 You're correct, but the NA hub and spoke system largely involves ferrying passengers from small cities on domestic flights to one of those hubs, using mostly narrowbody/regional jets. Their international flights are all point to point from those multiple hubs. Because they use multiple hubs, they don't need 400-seat aircraft from any one location. Instead, they can operate a more efficient aircraft from multiple cites and maximize profit while moving multiple times the number of passengers.
      The hub and spoke system in the middle east and Singapore involves ferrying passengers to single hubs on widebody aircraft, and getting them to other destinations on mostly other widebody aircraft, so they're more reliant on high capacity aircraft.

      Yes the 777-9 has more orders than the a350-1000 but remember this best competes with the 777-8 which is also not that popular, plus remember most of these orders aren't that new and mainly came from when this was announced in 2013, where the a350 wasn't considered by many. The 777-9 is a bigger and heavier plane, and I think airlines won't necessarily choose it over the a350 but they'll instead have both in their fleets. Most current customers like BA, Cathay, Etihad, Emirates, Qatar, Air India etc already operate the a350 or have it on order and they can still expand these fleets and still acquire the 777-9. Point is Airbus may not even have to compete with it if their existing a350s still get as much attention as it is having right now or if it's increased. The only way they'd think of competing is if the 777-9 eats into the a350's market significantly or if more airlines demand for it other than just the few to none who want a stretch. For now both have their corners for sales

    • @sainnt
      @sainnt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Tpr_1808 This video was specifically comparing the A350-1000 to the 777-9 because it's the largest aircraft both planemakers have on offer respectively.
      You basically validated my argument when you mentioned why the 777-8 isn't doing so well, which is actually twofold, but mainly because its most appealing feature is its range. Not only does the A350-1000 have a better range, but it carries about the same number of passengers and is a lighter aircraft.
      The reason why the 777-9 will succeed is precisely because it can carry more passengers and cargo than the A350-1000.
      In terms of most of the 777-9 orders being placed before the A350-1000, I can also argue that the A350-1000 has been around since 2018, and most of the orders are recent, not because it's gaining popularity, but moreso because the 777-9 is many years past its original date to begin service. Some airlines need that additional capacity now, so they have to get what's available. Same reason why the A321 is starting to see more orders lately than the A320. Had Boeing built the NMA, that wouldn't have happened either. Airbus is basically feeding off all of Boeing's missteps, and no one blames them for that.

    Have AB solved their de-lamination problems that affected Qatar`s aircraft? This seemed the only real area of concern for the A350 which really wasn`t a safety issue anyway. With that problem dealt with can we see any movement in AB investing money into the RR UltraFan engine develoment? This would future proof this aircraft for many years to come if it could be offered with an engine that could easily offer double-digit fuel savings over the current T-XWB. This course may also lead to investment into a `stretch` version of the -1000 which could only help in it`s competition with B777X. If GE9X is as good as some suggest it may be that as it stands A350 advantage may not be enough to persuade die-hard Boeing customers to change to A350. All this investment ultimately comes down the expected growth in air-travel & whether it will actually materialise with all the unrest in the world at the moment. It may be sensible to just wait & see rather than make what could be very risky investments, perhaps this is all we can look forward to for a while?!

    It is all deck chairs on the Titanic. Net zero will have a huge impact on air travel as alternatives to jet fuel will be more expensive or less efficient, which will impact air fares. For the first time since World War II there are no all new Western airliners under development. The only major project still in development is the 777X, a derivative of a 30 year old aircraft. An all new airliner launched now would likely not enter service until 2035. With moves to ban short haul air travel likely to extend to all areas served by high speed trains before then, the market for an A320 replacement shrinks. Will enough people be able to afford an intercontinental flight to justify an A350/777X replacement?

    I am skeptical about the 777X in that Boeing is trying to match Airbus in efficiency metrics by cramming more passengers in it. Boeing went with traditional alloys on the 777X fuselage when it could have used the Lithium Aluminum alloys (like what the CS/220 series use) to build it. Boeing is trying to have 787 features with 777 materials on the fuselage which might lead to long term structural issues. I’m not sure how you can pressurize the aircraft at the same altitude as a 787 and have the same size windows and expect it not to wear out quicker. Sure it’s doable but there could be bigger issues down the road.

    By the time the Boeing 777X comes into regular airline service around 2025. The Airbus A350-1000 could well have an A351 NEO variant in the pipeline. The RR Ultrafan engine will ensure the A350 maintains it's lead over Boeing.

    • @johniii8147
      @johniii8147 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It won't. Airbus has said itself any NEO variant won't happen before the 2030s. Ultrafan development has also been put on the back burner.

      @nathd1748 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johniii8147Why do you keep repeating this "back burner" thing about the Ultrafan? Makes me realise just how much shite you talk. RR have 5 yes FIVE separate iterations of the engine in various build stages. One of which is aimed at the XWB97 segment. You can carry on putting your fingers in your ears all you like but it's happening. They finish ground testing the largest iteration and it delivers 12-14% efficiency over current GE9X. They are not going to simply put that away in a corner and forget about it.

      @@nathd1748 Very recently a senior executive at Airbus was said a 350 NEO would be in the 2030s. RR has also said they waiting on new airframe for the Ulta fan to go full speed. This is all easily looked up.

      Everyone seems to forget about the 787 , if Boeing slaps a new engine and wing on the 787-10 it automatically kills off the a350-900 leaving the a350-1000 as the only competitive aircraft in the line up.
      Mind you , it is the a350-900 which is the best selling varient of the a350 family not the a350-1000. So Boeing still wins in the Widebody segment whether there is an a350neo or not. 😅😂

    I suspect the 777x will end up replacing old 777s when they get old.
    Unless the 777x can provide better efficiency and versatility, growing companies will probably expand with the A350 instead unless they're Boeing only operators.-

    • @miks564
      @miks564 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johniii8147 I still don’t know if Boeing is going to make the -10 which would be in a different size category.
      The -9 is a bit bigger than the A350 1000, but the difference is not big, that’s why the figures in capacity, cargo, people are also expected to be close. The aircraft is not yet in service so we have to wait for the exact figures. But we might expect 10% more cargo space for the 777-9 and a few more seat capacity as well. The -9x expected range is not the same of the A350, but I suspect the difference again will not be big enough to make a difference.
      So, efficiency and fleet standardization are going to be the deciding factor, not size.
      And If we look at sales figures we find a preference on the A350-900, not the bigger -1000. So I doubt Boeing finds many customers for a -10x variant.

    There is only a problem with this entire video...by definition its impossible for the a350-1000 to compete with something that is not in service yet....
    Also, and if Boeing doesn't add any unknown surprise (cue to avoid flying on the 777x frames for a bit), Boeing is entering the market with a design aimed at gaining market share against a range of frames that have been flying for years.....

ROLLS WANTS SELL MOR EOF TRENT XWB BEFORE THEY BUILD ULTRA FAN. 2028 UKTRA FAN FOR A350 1000 NEO, IS COMING. 777X IS OLD DESIGN LIKE A330 NEO. So 77x is not for 99 %% of clients.

    The latest Boeing offering needs to be better than the current versions of the B777, which simply no longer measures up,compared with the Airbus offerings. For across the pond hops and into Asia from the US B777X is far superior and seats more. And most will be 2 Class only or 3 with premium economy. B777X will win always. And wait for the upgraded B 787. The economy figures will be stunning.
