If my kid plays this game, then goes out and starts fucking bears, he's gonna be in trouble. He's grounded, and I'm taking away his zoo pass.
As an old-time designer and producer of video games, i can see how their culture of 'playing to the livestream crowd' seemed funny to them at the time. But any producer worth the name would have nipped this in the bud long before it got to this stage.
This is a product of a childishly inept corporate culture from the design studio. Sadly, this will give ammunition to be used against inclusivity in gaming. They have just made life worse for an awful lot of people.
Diversity is unnecessary in games
The WotC “Seal of approval” is virtually meaningless. It means they have approved exclusivity and the bigoted comments of their PR people this past year. That excludes alienating the whole community of gamers new and old with their absurd business practices.
This is a bad take. Simple as that.
IMO this should be a AO Adult Only for ESRB I am fine with them having it, but label it correctly and market it properly.
Indeed their is an AO rating, that was what makes the ESRB in this situation so wrong.
Show me that same Gygax quote in the 5th edition DMG!
I do not need to as it applies in all editions.
The current stewards of D&D hate Gygax.
@@zenvariety9383 I do not think they hate him. WOTC is steering D&D in the directions that their marketing tells them, and their main base which is no longer those over 40 or so.

I acknowledge your concerns, but disagree. And I wouldn't kiddos playing this, GTA, watching R movies...
ESRB has a area on the game itself where they describe why it is M for mature. They left all of this out, and I think on purpose as they know it went overboard.
Yeah, beastiality is sick. The same people part of the alphabet mafia would go out and do this.
The only R rated content that I'd let a child watch would be a war movie, like Saving Private Ryan. Even then I'd look at the maturity and age of the child before having them watch it.

Base on true definitions. (IE defining a condition that applies universally without reference to what is defined.)
That rule being: Sex between two consenting adults is okay.
Here it is applied: Sex between two consenting FANTASY adults is okay.
Your problem (and my problem, to tell the truth) is that one of these adults can change his species/form/mortal-coil(but keep his brain.) and that adult can be a bear.
And therein lies the problem. The rule extended to this fantasy character's 2nd form. Not just that it's 2 men.
You can't say gay is okay and then turn away from the other consenting adult types.
Floodgate = open.
For the record. I'm sooooooo not okay with any of this.
But when you argue against this someone who's for it can easily use your (gay sex=okay or straight sex=okay) because they're consenting adults argument against you.
They got around the beastiality argument with the Harkness test(look it up) and that non-reproductive-sex is "okay" because 2 adults consent.
I'll say again. Floodgate=open. And what you call depraved is someone else's "okay". Just like what ***I*** call depraved is what YOU say is "okay" based on your own the 2 consenting fantasy adult rules.
Gaming is supposed to be an escape. We see gay propaganda every day, no its not needed or a good thing in games.
It has nothing to do with "gay propaganda" I am willing to bet the coders were straight, the audience who was applauding it were a majority not gay. You are trying to place a label on the source that is unfair I think.
