  • Samsung has just issued an update on the hotly anticipated Galaxy Ring.
Remember how we got an exclusive Galaxy Ring sneak peek at Samsung’s Unpacked event? Well, Samsung has made a slight design change before the Ring officially hits store shelves.
The Galaxy Ring is still built with super lightweight and durable grade 5 titanium, it’ll still be available in nine sizes and you’ll still have the choice of black, silver or gold models.
But here's the twist: Samsung has swapped the original glossy finish for a new matte texture.
We think the new finish should give the Galaxy Ring a more premium feel. Plus, the matte texture should be more resistant to scratches that show up more easily on a glossy surface.
Spec-wise the Galaxy Ring remains unchanged, weighing in at just 3g, it's set to be Samsung’s most discreet wearable to date. Despite its featherweight construction, the Galaxy Ring is dustproof, waterproof down to 100m and offers up to 7 days of battery life - plus four to six additional charges through its case.
Using an accelerometer, PPG sensor and skin temperature sensor, the Galaxy Ring can monitor your heart rate, track your workouts and sleep, and even predict your menstrual cycle in conjunction with Samsung’s Wearable app.
The matte-finished Samsung Galaxy Ring is available to preorder now with a list price of £399 and will hit store shelves on July 24th.
So, what do you guys think? Is the new matte finish a win, or were you already sold on the glossy design? Let us know in the comments below, and be sure to hit that like button if you're excited about the Samsung Galaxy Ring.
