Raspberry Pi founders be like: 🫡
$700 for mini laptop
vs
$80 for the highest-performance pi 5
I dunno it's tough, on one hand a Pi is cheaper... If you can even find one.
On the other hand, maybe you secretly wanted a boring regular computer to begin with, all peripherals already present.
If you just wanted to play games better than a Pi could emulate them, get the laptop.
If you really wanted to mess around with electrical engineering yourself, get the Pi.
But for $700 this laptop is edging into "wow just get a dedicated computer anyways" territory.
Yeah
It's a way more powerful than raspberry pi
@@Atylonisus if this laptop can emulate Dreamcast then it matches the $35 pi 4.

No right minded hackers use windows lol.

$700 ??! A little bit more and you can get a gaming laptop. Screw that.
its for people that want a good laptop but also a very small size
I agree , 700 dollars + 200 dollars will this year allow u to get a very good laptop with an entry level gpu.
And then the specs are just an Intel atom or Intel Celeron 😐
@@kosmas173 also this i think is the GPD3 where it has a serial port in back which is perfect for older network hardware, that can also be replaced with an HDMI/USB KVM module so you can connect it to a KVM switch and control servers with it
This i would think is less about gaming and more for an IT pro that wants a really portable system to work with networks/servers
There is a section in hell where the laptop you chose as a mortal will be shoved up your ass. Still think you want a bigger laptop?
A mini laptop. A miniature version of a miniature pc.

Already in 2007, I used a mini notebook Fujitsu's umpc u1010 model. At that time, it was usefully used, but in my opinion, many Windows tablets with good readability are sufficient these days.
I had a u810. For its time running Windows 7 it was great, but with no expandability and limited memory and CPU it couldn't do much.
@@MistahMatzah as Steve jobs once said “net books aren’t good at anything”
@@oo0024 I think steve jobs said that because he was jealous how good windows xp netbooks were selling from 2006-2009. I had a 10 inch acer windows xp netbook for college and it did absolutely everything, even gaming (starcraft brood war) and only cost me $200

yes u1010 is still one of my most favorite tiny PC. however, they should have offered an SSD option at that time.

Tiny laptops were popular around 2009. I use to have one. It was an MSI Windbook. Not that small tho.
There was a market for them and they were called Netbooks. That was before the market changed over to entry level laptops which is dominated by Lenova. Of course Raspberry Pi’s became a thing and killed off majority of the cheap laptop market space.

"Light gaming" The first generation of this laptop (from like 2018) can run GTA V on low graphics at 24fps. This one is very recent and can run way better. These are literally made for gaming (The company's name is literally "GPD" or "GamePad Digital")

When a 700 dollar mini laptop has a usb A port but not a 2000 dollar Mac

Macs don’t have usb anymore? Ugh apple is annoying. I hate how they’ve normalised not having a headphone jack on phones.
Thanks for the 4 frames and descriptive language of “ports” on the back
Serial Coms port, HDMI, 2xUSB A , USB-C (data+power), and an RJ-45 ethernet port on the back.
On the left it also has another USB A as well as a micro SD card reader. The micro SD card reader is really useful for preserving the SSD. You can put all your user files on it and just treat it as a second drive, leaving the SSD on the motherboard for core system and app files.
All USB ports are 3.1.
