I bought a 2023 zL1 about 2 weeks ago after I got tired of waiting on a c8. Must have been heaven sent. I looked on line Sunday evening found one. Called Monday morning and asked if the car was actually there. " Sure it's here they said". Well how much do you want for it, I asked. They said we just want MSRP which was 79,000. Seventy miles and a few hours later I was driving back home in the car. And it's a convertible. Jesus Christ really does love me 😇. I realized how special I was when other dealerships started asking me " where the hell did you get it" ? We can't even order one.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad you got a zl1...slightly used and very low mileage ones are not hard to find starting from the year 2019 and up.....I don't believe the 2019 zl1s and up are much different than the 2023 Zl1s....I've been looking at them of and on for a few months

I’ve got a ZL1 (non-1LE) and I LOVE it. Can confirm, these cars are best value for performance hands down. Plus the aftermarket support and performance potential of the LT4 platform is incredible.

I recently drove a Camaro 2SS with 10 speed auto and was SHOCKED how much the driving experience resembled driving a C7 Corvette right down to the steering feel, the premium feeling interior, raised fenders, not to mention the dual mode exhaust. 😁

@@christopherramirez6086 If you did like me and jumped from a 2001 Toyota to a 2019 2SS. It's most def premium. Everyone I put in my car has never seen a HUD before or a Digital Rearview Mirror.
For real. What's crazy for me is I've had a 2017 Camaro SS and a 2015 C7 Z51, both sold now, and to be honest... I miss the Camaro more than the 'Vette. The Gen6 Camaro is seriously an underrated & fantastic car!

The Ford GM collab on the 10 speed is one of the best things to happen to V8's in the last 20 years.

I love any Gm or Ford V8 with that 10spd. Hearing that Coyote 5.0 or GMs 6.2 bang through those gears is just ahh to my ears!
On the freeway the zl1 1le is pretty comfy. However, driving on city roads is very firm. It'll bounce you everywhere in your vehicle if your city streets sucks.
I have to wonder if the PS4S are helping in this case too. I run them on my Miata for street use and they’re one of the more comfortable summer tires out there. The factory Goodyears are more on the lines of the rest of the 200TW tires out there which can definitely be harsh.
@@g60corrado91 the ps4 helps a little with comfort. Most importantly it won't pick up rocks like the goodyears.

ZL1 1LE def fails the relax and sip coffee while driving to work test.

This was a close second to the 2018 hellcat I got. These are much better than the dime a dozen mustangs. Love the ZL1.
The more common they are, the more the parts to fix them in 30 years.

I just ordered 23 ZL1 1LE in rapid blue yesterday!I can't wait to see it. Currently in a HellCat that I love but ready for more of track oriented car. Drove both and loved both

I have to disagree highly about the traction and stability system. It's actually probably the best system I've used on my car (2019 ZL1) because it actually doesnt just cut out power immediately. It does an incredible job of holding the power at the same amount when it detects you are about to slip and then continuously feeds more power as it detects more traction is available. At least thats what my experience has been like with the car for the past few months. I think the TC/STB control systems have been one of the more impressive aspects of this car for me and it definitely surprised me as much as the power and handling the car has.
Yeah, it's weird as he is aware of the PTM system as he mentions it. That system is amazing and there's plenty of modes to choose from to fit your skill level. The regular T/C button is just a yes/no burnout button for every day driving.
The traction and stability system and eLSD is the best thing about this car. And then chassis > 10 speed > LT4
I agree, I have a 2012 Silverado and a 2016 Camaro 2SS and the traction control is night and day
like you said, the Silverado just slams the brakes on when ever it detects wheel slippage, incredibly annoying while off roading, turn off for sure
Meanwhile, I have absolutely driven the tires off my 2SS and I don't think I have ever had it become overly obtrusive and annoying, in fact you hardly know it is there
The traction management in the Camaro is really nice, GM did a great job with this car,
my biggest complaint has been the clearcoat, the Paint sucks on my 2016 2ss, wish I got a wrap
but other than that, this thing is awesome
Even in race mode the PTM is extremely intrusive
@@tomdaniels3392 i have a black 2017 and agree the clear coat sucks. Its super soft. I use maguaris ultimate compound, and the ultimate polish. Works great. Not super abrasive and you can do mild polishing by hand with it.
I rented a 2022 Camero when I got in a car accident and think it drives a lot smoother than my 2017 mustang. The steering on it was so smooth.
I love the 3rd to 2nd downshift burbles. I do it way too much in my SS😭

I was going to get a new GT500 but I found the markup for what you all get not worth it. My second option was a ZL1 so I immediately went to watch Tophers review which was conveniently just posted when I bought mine a few months ago. I picked up a used 2019 with 5k miles for basically the MSRP price which was a total steal in the color blue. Wouldn’t trade this car for the world and I love it!

in track mode theres no need for paddles unless you like shifting. it shifts fast on its own with no lag.

Instant explosive power at very low rpms (1,100) you can zip around town all day with your head pinned against the seat, barley revving the engine
I came from a Lexus IS-F to a ZL1 and it feels really god damn good to have that power. Even after 9 months of having it, I'm still stunned by the acceleration of this car, it's almost more than I was expecting. I thought I had a grasp of what it would be and it's truly out performing my expectations in so many ways, love it so much.
Been debating between this and a gt500, I prefer the look of the gt500 but the camaro interior is far nicer, and this video is making me want this more
I love Camaros and miss my 2020 2SS. But I don't understand why they don't up the HP just a little bit. SS should have 500 and ZL1 should have 700.
There are many factors as to why they keep the engines the way they are. They are manufactured to produce a certain amount of torque and horsepower to maintain a good fuel economy and keep carbon emissions low. They recently lowered the horsepower of the mustangs because they produced too much carbon emission.

This car is out of this world. Have not seriously thought about it as a second weekend/track car due to ride quality concern, but after watching the Topher getting excited about it and potentially v8s going away in the future, it's back on the list. That was awesome video review. 👏

The V8 isn't the only thing that's going to go away, sadly. Gasoline will as well. At least in the way we currently consume it. With GM shutting down all production of ICE cars by 2035, the prices at stations are going to skyrocket. Soon, there will be like one pump here and there, and then maintenance will get scarce. That's why I'd advise buying used at a good price and learning how to work on them yourself. Because unless you're rich and have money to blow, investing in a new V8 is gonna sting in ten years. Really sting.
I really miss my 2019 SS 1LE
It has basically ruined every car for me under 55k. I’ve owned a 2014 FIST and a 2015 BRZ prior....cross shopped a 500 Abarth and Focus ST way back....hell I contemplated swapping the Camaro for a 2019+ ND Miata.
But it just does everything as good or better lol. The clutch and shifter feel are top notch, best I’ve felt. The engine and exhaust note sound amazing. It rides well, though the 20in wheels can be brutal over big bumps. Always cringed and worried about bending a wheel....
The chassis is incredible, the steering is great. It hides the weight really well. My only real complaint other than running costs (daily driving with 285s and 305s is stupid expensive) is the visibility. Definitely spoils some of the fun when you’re guessing where the car is. You get used to it, but it’s a pretty wide car...makes tight backroads a little nerve wracking.
Driving a Tacoma now and dreaming of getting another car as a toy. Thinking about a Miata as the SS was so damn fast for a street car and I don’t have enough self control 🤣
But dammit....I don’t think anything in my budget would come close to the fun of the SS. The GR86 looks great...but my experience with Subaru has sort of sworn me off them...

2022 Miata Owner here. Sorry to break to you, but you will feel the car underpowered if you came from SS 1LE. The Miata is more agile, easier to toss around, but you'll feel like you always wanting more. Test drive it and see if it really gonna work for you.
I will own one someday. My dream car. Had a 2016 SS had to sell once I bought my house. Love that blue 💙

unless you're a diehard mustang fan, i don't understand why anyone would buy a gt500 cftp over this. even with basic/barebones options and before taxes and dealership markups, mustang is basically ~$55k CAD more, less practical due to rear-seats deletion, and (i'm pretty sure) it's somehow slower around a track for some reason. gt500 cftp is a cool car for sure but it's way overpriced for what it is. this (zl1 1le automatic) offers way better value, it's really no comparison.

The thinig many people dont know about alcantera is its super durable. The fade is just all the oils and grime it picks up. Cleaned with some suede cleaner and a wire brush and itll look brand new again.
I have the Camaro 23’ convertible. Just got it and I think the screen points down from the glare when the top is down. I can see it perfectly fine with a bright sun. I wish they would of made it adjustable

Best of luck, these Camaros poorly sell and will be discontinued as a whole in name. You say it's many times better than the Challenger and Mustang, yet they have way better trims and sales. At least the Mustang doesn't have cylinder deactivation and the only thing this ZL1 needs is a 760hp base 2022 Shelby gapping it. lol

Insane sound! I'm really glad GM saw fit to make a manual available, and it would be my choice when personally specced. Too bad they didn't make it available with a DCT like the Shelby GT500 though.

As an owner of this car I think for it being a 10 speed you used to much paddle shifting. Wish you would have demonstrated how fast the gears shift in each mode and performance mode more. The reason they made the 1le in a 10 speed is so you don't have to fumble with a clutch on your curves and get a quicker time. Still a cool video tho

actually, the fastest spec is the standard ZL1. The aero on the 1LE slows it down a bit on 0-60 and top end. But, the !LE is quicker around a track due to tire width and suspension.

Makes me miss my '18 ZL1. Sold it when the used market was at its peak (got what I paid for as new, essentially back). Hope to buy a 2023 or 2024 ZL1 1LE before it is put to bed forever.

This perfect...and they're getting rid of it....Blows. My. Mind. I have a 2017 2SS 6M w/ NPP & Mag Dampers. I've owned several fun cars, but nothing compares to it that I've ever had. It's not a ZL1..But still even in SS trim, they're just so composed, steering feel is fantastic, it's so comfortable. I'd pick this car over anything Ford or FCA has to combat it. To me, it's the most complete package.
I've got the '17 ZL1 and unfortunately, was sold to me with a non working supercharger, the coolant leaks out and there's even a tech bulliten that describes this exact problem. 10% of the '17 ZL1s were shipped and sold this way and the bastards at the dealership kept giving me the "all operation is within spec". It's total bull and 3 freakin years later I had the POS 1.7 replaced with the 2.9 whipple and it's incredible. The only complaint I've got with that is the rattling when first started up, the colder it is the louder it is and dissipates when warmed up. The hotter the weather is the less it rattles, if I didn't drop the $8700 to install it and calibrate it with a new speed shop custom tune I would have went with Magnusson 2650. Make sure your supercharger works and if it don't shove it up the dealerships ass.

I have a standard ZL1 and wish I would have opted for the 1LE version. The adaptive dampers are neat but I want the aero and race dampers.

The direction of the gear shift is similar to my 2nd gen Camaro with a B&M Megashifter. Slam it forward to upshift, pull it back to downshift.

Look into a Blendmount and mirrortap for your radar detector, it'll look clean.
You never put it into track mode. That’s when the acceleration gets crazy, the steering gets tight af, and the suspension rattles your teeth.

ZL11LE 10 Speed 10L90 is very fast car I love my ZL11LE 10 Speed Ford Mustang GT500. Dodge SRT Redyeye fresh breakfast for my ZL11LE 10 Speed+ Ferrari Lamborghini McLaren Porsche. Chevroletperfomance team still Champion.🏆 You feel ZL11LE 10 Speed you have 800 horsepower is crazy fast and top balance. + handling.
I can't remember exactly what it is I think it's a damping system for the suspension on a zl1le but to replace the thing cost like $4,000 I remember it's kind of a small part of the suspension system but a lot of money it's not part of the brake calipers rotors etc
