I don't really hate either of them. It's hard to. Pretty much every character in Nier and Nier: Automata is a tragic one. Androids who can't accept or understand that they have the same emotional capacity as humans, believing they're not truly "alive" because they're manufactured, robots who can never completely grasp the concepts of human emotion but are obsessed with imitating it nonetheless, and an inevitably horrible fate for everyone in the Nier universe regardless of whether they're part of the YoRHa plan or not. I genuinely just pity most of the characters. Even, to a small degree, the side quest characters you encounter that have completely fucking lost it.
I wouldn't expect less from the same guy who voiced Noctis Lucis Caelum, Puri Puri Prisoner, Artorius Collbrande, and the Master of Masters, among so many other roles. God bless Raymond Chaifetz.

I think Adam and Eve were designed as the personification of the logical mind and the emotional mind. Adam only cared about logic, knowledge and rationallity. His lack of seeing the emotional consequences of his actions caused him to be reckless and die for the sake of knowledge. Eve however never seemed interested in knowledge and logic. He just wanted to be happy and be with Adam. Due to adam's death Eve's emotions went out of control, which made Eve willing to kill all of the world including himself. Adam died because he only had logic lacked emotion, Eve died because he only had emotion and lacked logic. The message of this story, it is important to balance logic and emotion. Because too much and too little of either will be bad for yourself and the world.

Actually, if you listen, literally every major plot part in the game when the final segment of something is happening, Sound of the End plays which makes it even more iconic and the name resonate. It even plays althroughout the time 2B is infected by the logic virus and is getting closer to death

Had to re-load a save. I barely died the first time and then lost all my health items. The game re-loaded at the last phase of the boss, but my health items were still gone. Worse still, you lose all your plug-ins as well. That checkpoint system was designed very poorly. Each time you die, you're left with less tools. Why not just load before the boss? Or at least restore the health items that weren't used at that point during the fight.
You know that you can go up to your old body and recollect your chips, right? Also you must have had v few healing items, which is your fault since you can easily go buy them from any vendor, and it's not like this fight was a surprise... The game's respawn system isn't perfect, but it's pretty good and used by countless other games (notably Dark Souls), and happens to fit the game really well thematically. Also the checkpoint system is arguably 'kinder' than in most games, for example: if you die during phase 3 of a boss, you spawn back in at the beginning of phase 3. Most games will put your right back to the beginning, which feels way worse than "oh no I don't have those few healing items anymore". However if you did take in loads of heals but you just end up using a _lot_ of them, then think about changing your chips to ones which help mitigate this. Such chips include Deadly Heal for non boss fight roaming around, Offensive Heal for whenever, Auto Use Item so that your healing items are more effective, Max HP Up for obvious reasons, and Melee/Ranged Defense Up again for obvious reasons.

@@RingTeam Well, that is a bit of a lie. You beat the game once, then you play again as a new character and a lot is different. Then you just have to replay the final mission for the true ending. It honestly is not that much extra effort

I can’t remember the last time I felt genuinely intimidated by a boss. Yeah, I pitied him to an extent, but mostly, I was just scared of him. The screaming, snarling, laughing, the way he says, “EVERYTHING MUST DIE!” Hell, look at his appearance at 7:54. *shudder*
This game is excellent, absolutely a future classic. 9/10 from me! I was completely absorbed in it. The ending just came all of a sudden for me. When the credits started rolling, I felt sad and empty. Sad because the ending really got under the skin. Empty because I wanted, even expected, the journey to continue. But then again, I spent dozens of hours without even realizing it. So I couldn't blame the game for the fun not lasting forever. Couldn't wait what the other routes has to offer. Here is my review: The game is very nicely stylized from the artwork to the music. Frankly, soundtrack is one of the best I have heard, there's not much more to say. Regarding the artwork, post apocalyptic environments looks astonishing at it's best, and there is nice amount of variety in the milieu. You can not enter buildings and there are invisible walls, but the playable area is compelling enough. I hoped many locations had a bit more little details thought. Character design is cool and I give big pros for the "naive" robot design, which actually gives the appealing, cohesive, iconic essence to the design work. In all it's modesty it gives the "soul" to the robots and somehow fits the narrative just perfectly. Theme, narrative and characters are all interesting with some fundamental philosophy and sense of mystery behind them. Even thought the setting is interesting, the plot is unfortunately somewhat short and cursory overview over the vast philosophy behind the setting. By it's premises it had potential to offer a lot more depth in the form of narrative and hidden clues. Especially I hoped there were more to Adam and Eve, destruction of the creators and the evolution of the machine lifeform. Nevertheless, I was on the edge all time till the ending. Maybe more answers awaits in different routes... Combat at normal difficulty is fun and accurate, even more so after remapping the controls (I used DS layout). It is cross breed of Souls type combat and hack 'n slash with varying flavors, like arcade style phases (+++). Evade system is at the core of the mechanics. Spamming it makes you basically untouchable. Up to the player, if to spam it or not ;) Attacks are always fun to execute, as the animations and effects are smooth and beautiful. Some goliaths put me on toes even when evading all the time. The game is not easy, but not DS hard either. I only hoped it was possible to switch the lock-on target with the stick, as many times I accidentally locked on wrong target. But still, it's a minor flaw in this otherwise solid combat. Plugins chips and pod programs add nice flavor to game mechanics, even thought I managed to beat the game with most of the available chips never used. But for each their own. Regarding weapons, there are different categories, all of which has the same move set. More unique move sets to the weapons would have added even more depth to the game mechanics, but these are minor flaws.

i feel like dependant weakling should’ve been played in the final battle of route c/d. both 9s and a2 share similiarities with adam and eve. 9s and eve lose their sanity after losing a loved one. a2 and adam remain calm and use logic to handle disputes.
2b protecting 9S while he was hacking Eve reminded me of the end of Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta receiving a beating from Buu while Goku was charging his attack.
Sorry for the late reply, i think its REALLY the best/good ending mainly for 2B and 9S he doesn't dies and he will be able to get a new body for him to live with 2B, in contrary to the other SAD and DEPRESSING endings...
I somehow missed that strikingly direct reference to the cult of the watchers from Drakengard! Namely, the twins sigil on Eve's chest. I wonder if we'll ever know the connection.
Ohh i love it when people notice the drakkenguard connections. So this goes even deeper. The entire world here is the world of the original neir, the entire situation that forms the base of this games story, is due to the actions of Caim and anguluss, In the true ending of DG. it created the apocalypse of neir gestalt, which leads to the extinction of humanity. which leads to this games plot. The red girls are highly impled to be the watchers themselves in their latest horrifying form. Seems like they drove the AI on the moon insane after humanity was wiped out. The anime is even more on the nose about this. You SEE neir when 9s hacks the songstress in the amusement park. He gets a bit more info than he did in the game. It shows the MCS of neir and Neir himself with Yonna. The robots in the desert get confirmed to be taking their personality's from data on the people of Law and rule, from neir. That's the masked people who where fighting with the wolves. 2B and 9S go to the temple of trails as well, and discover the pit the boss of that area was fought in 2000 or so years before. They cross the expanse just outside of neIRs village as well. With the bridge that leads to the junkyard clearly visible.
I’m in a state where I have no heal been fighting Eve for over 100 times now and realize that without heals he’s unbeatable when it comes to the final phase
I love how this game tries to make me feel something for "Nines" but at the same time i cant seem to give a single fuck since he wont die he will prbly just lose a few hours of memory and boom ... he is back up and running ... does it really matter if he remembers fucking up some naked guy ?
So my girlfriend somehow ended up in this fight and had no restorative items left + she ignored chips completely because she didn't bother. So I had to get her out of the mess and as a Dark Souls player I can tell you that this fight is actually really really fun to play. If you want a challenge, do not set the difficulties on hard (not really fun), instead completely ignore healing items.

Ray Chase's performance as Eve may have been the reason he was chosen to play post timeskip Nier in the remaster of the first game.

9s and eve lose their sanity after losing a loved one.
a2 and adam remain calm and use logic to handle disputes.

When I fought Eve, I killed him surprisingly fast. Granted, I'm a master at evading.
2b protecting 9S while he was hacking Eve reminded me of the end of Dragon Ball Z. Vegeta receiving a beating from Buu while Goku was charging his attack.

Sorry for the late reply, i think its REALLY the best/good ending mainly for 2B and 9S he doesn't dies and he will be able to get a new body for him to live with 2B, in contrary to the other SAD and DEPRESSING endings...

Ohh i love it when people notice the drakkenguard connections. So this goes even deeper. The entire world here is the world of the original neir, the entire situation that forms the base of this games story, is due to the actions of Caim and anguluss, In the true ending of DG. it created the apocalypse of neir gestalt, which leads to the extinction of humanity. which leads to this games plot. The red girls are highly impled to be the watchers themselves in their latest horrifying form. Seems like they drove the AI on the moon insane after humanity was wiped out.
The anime is even more on the nose about this. You SEE neir when 9s hacks the songstress in the amusement park. He gets a bit more info than he did in the game. It shows the MCS of neir and Neir himself with Yonna. The robots in the desert get confirmed to be taking their personality's from data on the people of Law and rule, from neir. That's the masked people who where fighting with the wolves. 2B and 9S go to the temple of trails as well, and discover the pit the boss of that area was fought in 2000 or so years before. They cross the expanse just outside of neIRs village as well. With the bridge that leads to the junkyard clearly visible.

I’m in a state where I have no heal been fighting Eve for over 100 times now and realize that without heals he’s unbeatable when it comes to the final phase
To be honest it would have been sick if the gave u the option to play as Adam and Eve in here
I love how this game tries to make me feel something for "Nines" but at the same time i cant seem to give a single fuck since he wont die he will prbly just lose a few hours of memory and boom ... he is back up and running ... does it really matter if he remembers fucking up some naked guy ?
So my girlfriend somehow ended up in this fight and had no restorative items left + she ignored chips completely because she didn't bother. So I had to get her out of the mess and as a Dark Souls player I can tell you that this fight is actually really really fun to play. If you want a challenge, do not set the difficulties on hard (not really fun), instead completely ignore healing items.
I pretty much used zero healing items after I got the passive recovery chip. Also the no knockback is paramount.
As I said, she never bothered with any chips so no way of healing myself.
I know, I was just referring to your idea to ignore healing items since I hardly used them anyway.

If you pay close attention to Eve’s left tattoo on his chest, it’s the logo of the cult of the watchers from drakengard 1. Just a nice little detail
this fight was hell for me because i ran out of recovery pots before this fight, and couldnt stock up un more until i beat this bastard
