- Nier Automata - All 26 Endings (Main, Secret, True, Joke Endings and Y Ending)
There are 26 endings in Nier: Automata, and they are labeled A through Z. This video includes all the main endings, the secret endings, the good and bad endings and the true ending involving Emil. The majority of them are little joke endings, where the game would end under real circumstances. This video will show all of the endings, in the order they appear on your save file as well as how to get each one. You need to get all 26 endings on one save file for the "Transcendent Being" being trophy. You can get them in chapter select if you missed any. For Ending Y, you need to collect every weapon and upgrade them all to lvl 4.

Ye i dunno why is everyone so mad at 9S. IMO his actions were the most "human" and relatable as hell.
I hated 9s when I played the last ending. I get that he lost the love of his life, but he completely threw away all rationality out the window even when the truth was in front of him. Its that type of human that I hate the most, but it makes him a pretty decent character. I'll give them that.
Notice that he killed himself, A2 didn't stab him, he charged into that katana by himself :)
All A2 wanted to do was take a nice peaceful stroll with nature.

basically, for the majority of the 26 endings, you choose to be the worst possible person and abandon your duties..... well. the creator wasn't kidding when he was talking about the actions of consequences that lead to the ruin of mankind.

Mankind is already ruined, for the majority of the endings, excluding the canon ones and another couple ones, you end up taking the best route, the route that the game hopes you take, a game about how no one has free will and the characters are stuck in an endless looped cycle, wishes tou break those cycles and take anotherroute entirely, which is what happens in these endings.

Wasn't it mentioned that both human historical data as well as their Genome (I am assuming to make clones) was kept their, in the hopes that humans can one day be recreated when the Androids killed the machines?

@@RRRRRRRRR33 I mean I wouldn’t really call it overreacting when you lose the only person you ever had feelings for and learn that your whole existence is based on a lie tbh. If I were in the same situation as 9S, I most likely would’ve gave up on everything and slowly lost my mind too.
@@amirgarcia547 But that's the thing, basically all these characters (literally everyone, including the pods, antagonists, etc) they all had their own epiphanies about existentialism. It's the cliche of the AI learning about emotions and etc... even if it is stereotypical, the plot is awesome... but 9s and Eve suffers with the overacting imo. Their reactions are over the top. The 2b voice actress is incredible, I am a big fan of hers... same goes for a2, they both deliver their lines in a convincing way. Now 9s just screams, it's very cheesy and unnatural. His arc is maybe the best in the entire game, like I said, the writing is pretty good... but the acting is not on the same level. I don't know if the english voice actor did a better job or not, but the japanese actor belongs in the garbage. They need to learn that screams, moans and grunts ≠ emotions. Try to watch a japanese live action, like... let's say the Death Note movie for example, their overacting is disgustingly bad
@@gaelurquiz5755 Because the character is well written, his suffering is believable. Also the masses usually assumes that screaming, moans and grunts = good acting. Emotional outbursts. Anyone can scream really, even me and you, but to make it believable? That's the tricky part. Using anime as the archetype for voice acting... 9s is an example of very bad voice acting, he doesn't sound natural. Bakugou from Boku no Hero is the inverse, his emotional outbursts, the way he cries, screams, etc.. it's very realistic. That's good acting, the guy don't just scream and be done with it (but sadly, Bakugou is nowhere near 9s regarding how he is written)

I was so confused by the choice of words in my first play through when 2B said " it always ends like this" like I just thought it was bad translation until I finished the whole game and suddenly it makes perfect sense.

2B's real name is 2E, B is battle, E is Execution (or exterminator something like that, haven't played in a while). The 9S models are so good at hacking because they're programmed to be clever and naturally curious so 2B was made to keep 9S and all of his predecessor 9S's in check so he doesn't find out the truth (that humans are extinct) because HE WILL figure it out if left alone. So 2B's job is to kill 9S whenever he gets too close to finding out the truth and then wipe his memory and start him from zero again. That means 2B has had multiple moments where she 'meets' 9S for the first time and she's grown an attachment to him. That's why she says "it always ends like this" because YET AGAIN she had to kill her closest friend and start the process all over again.

That's amazing! I remember being puzzled about it, but I just forgot. The bunker scene, where 2B and 9S are paired again and only 2B has the memories of the battle, makes so much more sense now... And are even more sad.
@@MiniMii550 To be exact, she doesn't have to kill 9S, she has to make sure he dies... And that happens in the game many times, even in the first minutes of the game when they both die by exploding their black boxes.

The first ending I triggered accidentally while I didn't even know there are 26 endings. Saw two OS Chip, thought to myself why do I need two, sold one OS chip at Bunker *screen reload * Dafuq just happened. Well played.

LOL...Took me sometime to figure that out. I didn't do it with my OS chip. But when I tried to insert deadly heal chip, the first "healing" chip you get (anything above normal in this game, anything that has to do with heal becomes a priority), I was just like "why do I have to insert all six at the sametime? I only need 1!" Took me sometime the number after the item is the amount of slots a chip takes on basically your motherboard, not how many I have lol.

The character development of 2B is incredible writing.
Howirya Doon emotions are only prohibited because it leads 9S down the road where 2B has to kill 9S. She's doesn't it so many times she's just trying to stop him from going down that path so she doesn't have to kill him anymore.
I never understood that killing him "again" part, there was no document or anything in the game that tells you she did it before, only that she was supposed to kill him
Anima When 2B choke him, she says "It always ends like this !". The duo 2b/9s is also referred as in an endless life/death cycle on multiple occasions. Pods talk about it on end E.
2B is a cover. Her actual designation is 2E, an executioner model. Her mission is to observe 9S and kill him if he gets too close to the truth. (They have been paired many times, with the same results).

I'll always consider E the true ending. All 3 of them were ultimately saved by their own pods. The only way that could've been better is if one of them, preferably 2B, opened their eyes before the camera panned to the birds.
The first 30 minutes of Nier: Automata is the entire game. The rest is just a really long interactive Game Over.

I was really disappointed by Adam and Eve in this game I wanted them to have a much bigger role.

I have mixed feelings about this. I thought them dying so early was an amazing subversion of my expectations and made me want to know what the heck the actual story was going to be. At the same time, I think if they were given some more fleshing out (maybe later in the routes or through more optional side missions) they would have been able to explore some of the more compelling ideas of the game more thoroughly.
Yeah. This is a really beautiful game, so emotional, but at the same time they squeezed in so many characters and role into this game, that so many characters are less developed. There was so many potential. For adam and eve, 2b, A2, and even the robot.

UNLESS (this should be the next nier game) they bring back humanity by using the human genome on the moon and some samples of dna in earth and begin to create humans again and must now create an entire society all over again.

@@IchCharacter Im not sure but maybe they could try and rebuild humanity and protect them from harm or extraterrestrial enemies because the main issue in the game is that they have no purpose. so maybe their purpose is the journey to find a way to recreate humans and rebuild society because without that there is nothing else. They are robots, they have a mission which is to help and serve the human race without that they have nothing. And its been shown that they have no idea what to do with their lives are were happy and content serving humans (or what they thought were humans) so their next challenge of recreating humans would be pretty good for a new game
@@twisted4534 I wouldn't say that 2B or A2 were particularly happy with their duty or cared for humanity at all. A2 actively turned away from the supposed mission to protect humanity. Maybe she learned that humanity was dead already somehow, since she had no particular reaction to 9S telling her so, the red girls could have told her during her Pearl Harbor mission or she found out some other way, but that's just speculation on my part. Regardless, she wasn't shown to care for humanity at all, only caring for other androids and Pascal, a little. As for 2B, she was miserable with her mission and didn't show any interest in humanity either. Only 9S seemed to be interested in humanity at all, often wondering "What if we had been humans?". He was the only one to be shocked by the revelation that humanity was extinct, though the nature of YoRHa seemed to have more of an impact on him than the fate of humanity. Even if they decided to rebuild humanity, it would have to be their own decision, not a purpose or order given to them. They have to decide for themselves what they want in the future, not follow orders. A2 already abandoned that thinking long ago, just as 2B arguably went against her orders in Ending C/D/E by influencing A2.

Terrell Cole his death was more realistic the sword hit him right in the solar plexus meaning that all the blood would have been sent straight up into his throat his death would have been slow and painful we laugh but it's a an actual thing that happens people get impaled in the chest and are forced to slowly choke on their own blood honestly the only reason why 2A didn't go out in a similar manner is due to where the blade hit

It is quite disappointing that quite a number of endings is achieved by simply running away. Although it s compensated by those secret and funny endings.
The funniest ending is definitely one of the run away ones, the one where 9s runs away after the logic virus bomb. "All the androids were wiped out. Well except for the really selfish ones, they were fine."
Having never played or knowing the story of Nier Replicant, I never understood Emil. But now, having played through the remake, I have even more respect for this lil boy who suffered through the many years alone... and when I heard him yell "Kaine," man...feelsbadman 😭
Fan theory: Ending B alludes to 9S's last body (his black box) being used as the backdoor for the evolved logic virus in the back half of the game.
If you pay attention to route B, 9S and 2B are spared the logic virus initially because 9S noticed something odd about the Yorha data. This was before he melded with Adam

Thanks so much for this. With all the Coronavirus crap going on I finally had the time to play this amazing game, and have become quite a rabid fan. Usually I’m a completionist and would have tracked all these down myself (I had maybe 8 or 9) but when the option to sacrifice my data showed up, even though I wasn’t “done” I just felt I had to do it. I think the fact that I had to give up on my dream of getting 100% made the sacrifice feel more “real” somehow. Since I’m not quite ready to jump right back in and start over, being able to watch videos like this (and all the others about the lore and previous games) have just been wonderful. Really makes it feel like a community.
same here. I cracked this game open during CoronaVirus.. and glad I did. There are few games that are as thought provoking and twisty as this.. MGS2 springs to mind though

The endings where 2B and/or 9S abandon operations including the destruction of YoRHa makes sense after continued play as to why just two disserters cause everything to all apart. The desertions didn't cause YorHa to fall apart, it was set up to fail. By the way, I got ending O before shutting down any of the AA units.
Ending V was made more hilarious by 9S just standing there, doing nothing, instead of actually fighting the machines. The player must have stayed to help out, right? Right~?
I've done all endings except Y (Emil's determination). The game is awesome. I spent about 45 hours on it and i don't have any regrets that's why I want suggest everyone play this game and share your opinion. Shinjiko eko are or smth like that))

I played 49 hours through and completed around 80% of the game, my brother is 65 hours through the game and still hasn't have anything 100%

At 12:30 when A2 she said these words, she definitely touched my heart deeply. I loved this ending and the first because of the beauty and the feelings in it, this game is sad but I absolutely loved it . T_T

for the ones where you have to do something a bit different (like running away) can you save do the action get the ending and then continue the story
Yep. If you know where the joke endings trigger, you can save before doing them to get the ending on your file.
After a full story play through (Getting endings A,B and either C or D) You can use chapter select to skip to where the rest are.
It's more easier to just beat endings A to E and you'll eventually unlock Chapter Select where you can complete the rest of the endings
Watching through ending N physically hurt me.

rip emil, actually, rip every character in this show. All androids have no purpose as their gods are dead. Pascal had to watch all his friends die and he either lost all his memory or was killed. All the machines also have no purpose anymore. THERE IS NO GOOD ENDING

@@DerKing281 I get what you are trying to say but disagree. We are unlike these androids because we are selfish and our gods are either ourselves or immaterial. This means that we do things in the betterment for ourselves whether spiritualy or physicaly and nothing will ever be enough for us as we keep changing and evolving and doing things to make our selves happier, however these androids have a key difference, their gods were real, material and they dont give a single care about themselves, just their gods. They existed to please the humans, the knew what to do, which was please humans and all the things they have ever done or would have ever done was for the betterment of humans. but now after the knowledge that these gods are dead they have literally lost the point of their existance and their goal in life was 1 single thing and without that they are nothing, but for us our goal is not 1 single thing but many, happyness, knowledge, strength, spiritual connection, doing things for other or ourselves. The good thing about our lives is that there is no goal so if we cannot do one thing we do another and atleast we have something to do or strive for. That is why its so sad knowing that the androids have no reason to live as they dont care about knowledge, or their own self gain, so what do they have to achieve by doing anything?
there is one ending you do not have here, play as 9S and go down to secret Machine room on the right by elevator(in opera room). that is the ending in the views of the broken machine.

It was my intention to get all ending, but while I was nearing the end of ending E (hacking the end credit), my game crashed and when I started it again, I neither had ending D or E and did not feel like going through that hacking credit again and came here instead. You saved me over 10 hours! Thanks!

I don't know if she knows about the extinction. But, she was built for the purpose of specifically killing 9S whenever he finds out about humanity's extinction. Since 9S is a high end model android with a built-in curious personality, it's no surprise that he'll find out sooner or later. When that day comes, 2E a.k.a 2B is ordered to kill 9S. It's implied that the number of times she has killed 9S is (a lot).
i think 9S also already knew what she was as well or at least suspected it and just found a way to secretly upload his memories without yorha knowing, afterall he didnt forget about about the mankind extinction after ending A/B and A2 mentioned how he probably already knew when she revealed 2B was 2E
I know this is 9 months later and you probably don't give a fuck, but I understand that 2B is really 2E and she was designed to kill 9S if he knew the truth about humanity. She's already killed him lots of times and he's had to get his memory wiped. I get that, that's fine and dandy.
But why does it matter if 9S knows? He's not the only S model, so is this one android's existence almighty in terms of YoRHa's destruction? Why is 9S specifically not allowed to know about humanity's extinction?

@@pinkgh0st502 9s is the only model with his personality, and the 9 personality is naturally more curious than others, causing him to uncover the truth many times.
(Also a little tidbit of info not in the game but in one of the novellas it's revealed that 9s' prototype is the one who put all of this in place in the first place, he began Project YorHa and hid the truth of humanity being extinct, and he also is the one who installed the backdoor into the YorHa network to let the logic virus get in.)
