They have all the time in the world now. Like 500 years or more according to a weapon story in which an android wearing black clothes was sighted by Emil 500 years in the future. He remarked that he knew her from somewhere but didn't remember too well. She had a serious look and since A2 isn't wearing any clothes and there are no other random surviving YoRHa androids, that She can only be 2B. Probably looking around the city and such. 2B didn't really die. Her body and software just became corrupt because of the virus and her changing bodies was impossible since the Bunker got destroyed making her "dead". But the virus got deactivated because the Network left Earth and she was pretty much okay. Just needing some repairs from the battle damage and A2 stab, something that the pods provided. Also the Machine war ended with a peace between the Resistance and the Machines. The Resistance focusing on rebuilding civilization so basically 2B,9S and A2 can live in peace. Far into the future machines fight each other but i doubt that the YoRHa androids would care about that.
@@duzinbbs4784 i had to dig those things up myself to counter the depressing feeling that was left in me. Didn't felt like that since ME3 ending. The japanese developers are very talented when it comes to good story making. What makes ending E nice is that according to a comment, Yoko Taro (the writer) believes that a "Good ending" is the one the characters want, not what we as an audience want for them. Multiple times i have read that for Taro, a character that achieves their goal through battle and violence doesn't deserve a happy ending and thus the majority of his characters just get killed off. But he felt that this doesn't apply to 2B, 9S and A2 since they didn't have any choice. They were created to fight and when they could show mercy and seek peaceful existence with the enemy they did. In the midst of war and violence they became human, feeling compassion and love. So he felt that he needed to give them a second chance at life. So when it comes to a happy ending it couldn't have been better given the situation. :)

9S' rage honestly gave me a flashback to Eve and his reaction when 2B killed Adam. Just pure, raw emotion. Sadness, then bloodcurdling rage, even down to the same damn scream. It's eerie to think the enemies and the protagonists you play as are so similar.
Back when Yoko Taro created Drakengard he thought you would have to be crazy to kill someone, so his characters reflected this, all being deranged in some manner. @@MrAnsatsuken not sure if you will see this after four months but all the game cast came back for the anime english dub. The first episode is already up on Crunchyroll.
This part of the game broke me. I got almost as broke as 9S while playing the game. For a long time after that, I really couldn't feel even a slight bit of compassion for the still connected machines.
How did they end up making the saddest death in videogame history an android? like think about that for just a moment. They are all androids, machines, and the game constantly reminds you of this. yet at the same time, at this point in the game you feel a connection with these characters despite them being both fictional and robot characters. To add to this scene, it made you feel a sense of hopelessness and a sense of "maybe i can get out of this" only to see it didn't matter because everything was hopeless. Then, having 9S desperately try to get to 2B, the person he is closest to by far, just in time to watch her die from the distance, not knowing that A2 was only doing what 2B asked her to do because she was infected just makes this a legit sad love story. And to top all of this off, the game is constatntly nudging the question of "what is the point of all of this" throughout the whole game in such a great way. Even if you do have a sense of "the meaning of life" somehow relating to the good of humanity, it is already stated at this point that humans are all extinct. Especially after this scene it really makes you ask yourself that question of what is the meaning now.
I saw it as a parallel to humanity. They keep reminding you that they're androids without souls because we keep assuring ourselves we are sentient humans and are somehow special, sort of like a safety blanket in our own minds. Once we know for sure in our subconscious that this safety blanket doesn't exist(because they're androids), it makes for one of the most tragic stories ever made. Kinda ironic that most human story i've ever experienced could only be delivered in it's full effect if the characters in it aren't human
Ngl the voice acting for english is amazing. I was honestly surprised since I noticed that the mouthing was off back when I was playing A path and wondered if in Japanese was the original and it was. But then had to switch back to English bc I had a hard time reading the subs while fighting robots. So i'll do it in my second play through of the entire game.
This part was so well made especially with the messages along the way like "Thank you all brave androids..." while the player already knows it's a pointless war. Makes 2Bs death so much more tragic.
I was really hoping she could get vaccinated. Then this hit me where it hurts. I sat down in silence for 15 whole minutes, my body physically wouldn't let me continue. I was in a strop even after picking the controller back up.
For me I had way more connection with A2 (bias obviously) but I think the main reason her death isn’t as tragic is because by the time she dies, she finally figured out what her purpose really was and why she was wrong to have gone into rage and kill all those machines and androids. When 2B dies, there’s a sense of emptiness and unfinished business. What her life could have been with 9S if she had managed to keep on living. 2B’s death is more tragic because she doesn’t deserve it. Having to die by making somebody kill you for the better of the world is bad enough as it sounds. She never found her purpose outside of having to kill 9S every time he figured out the truth. Plus there’s the obvious fact, you get to spend way more time with 2B as opposed to A2. While A2’s death (taking into account Route C) is more like a finality to her story. Because her arc had already finished by the time the Tower sequence started. I think if you want to talk about tragic deaths, I think A2’s death in Route D is fucking brutal to watch. Especially considering she dies knowing that she couldn’t fulfill 2B’s wish of keeping 9S safe.
A2 was better written and her personality shines through better imo. Also have a little bias lol. She was this mysterious deserter, only meeting her once if I'm remembering right. Then you get to play and know her and as the other guy said: just had more connection to the character. Game is a masterpiece anyways
Story Mode C, and to an extension D, are real gut punchers. Mainly towards 9S. I honestly felt his pain when A2 killed 2B. Yeah, I knew it was because 2B had that virus inside her, and since she was unable to get an antivirus software, killing 2B made the most sense. But at the same time, seeing 9S' reaction after seeing A2 stabbing 2B through the chest, and to have him go down further and further into the rabbit hole, to the point where he becomes the villain in this story, and ironically A2 becoming the hero in this story, I had so many mixed emotions at this point.
SPOILERS . . . . What always gets me about this is how 2B almost has a happiness/relief in her voice at the end. Death is her release from and endless cycle of having to kill the person she loves, and only in this last moment can she finally be genuine with him. It’s so fucking sad and beautiful at same time.
Man, compared to kingdom hearts the dialogue in so much better in terms of flow. I think its because for the English dub, they didn't worry too much about matching the lip flaps.

That's my favourite part of the game. 2B is walking her last mile and the player is the only person to witness it. The music is so peaceful and we still hope that she will survive somehow. Beautiful, it really moves me.
NieR: Automata is one of the few games to make me cry (Ending A made me sob in fact), and I think the voice acting plays a big part in what makes those scenes so emotional. 2B crying in Ending A and 9S crying here are both performed so incredibly well. It does also help that this is one of the best written games out there (although the bar isn't exactly high)
2:24 the lighting in this looks completely different compared to the actual gameplay. I actually kinda like this lighting better and wish it was actually beyond the cutscenes. Something about the sunlight being this faded and on right side of the actual location instead of usual feels somewhat nostalgic and refreshing for those who haven’t played this game and haven’t been looking at a lot of footage.
4:29 I'm not sure if I feel dumb for not considering this sooner, or if there's something I'm missing but how is the bridge to the commercial facility still intact for the rest of the 3rd playthrough? It seems like the same bridge
Who would've guessed that before the last of us 2, there were another game where you killed the main character halfway through the game, THEN you get to play with the same character that killed you Lol.
@@rueceless7580 Abby's circle of friends are divided after she kills Joel. Some friends are cool with her while others are scared of her. She sleeps with Owen while Mel is pregnant with his child.
2B'S EYES STOPPED GLOWING RED AFTER SEEING 9S IM GONNA CRY DFHSJJFJEJDJ
4:29 I'm not sure if I feel dumb for not considering this sooner, or if there's something I'm missing
but how is the bridge to the commercial facility still intact for the rest of the 3rd playthrough? It seems like the same bridge
Yo that's right lol
Machines probably rebuilt it quickly is the most plausible theory. It also says 2 weeks pass after the bridge gets knocked down so it makes sense.
Maybe the machines fixed it (I mean, one alone can build a wooden slide in 2 minutes, so...) lol .
Man playing this for the first time trying to make it to the shopping mall was BRUTAL
Almost 7 years and this game still freaks my veins
Jesus christ man, I don't think I ever felt this sad for the death of a game character. I don't remember feeling this sad even when Joel died.
Maybe because Joel isn't a hot girl so it's not as big of a loss.
3:30 lol you just gonna let that giant hog do you like that?
according to memory thorn, 9S couldn’t hear 2B calling him nines here :/
I wish I could help her
anyone came back here afer watching the anime?
Ngl when i first saw this scene my jaw was on the floor.
I don't like anime or anything but this ending when 9s yells this legit gave me chills I felt the emotion
Bruh, 9S was given the shit end of the stick and he couldn't handle it. My boy didn't deserve any of it, he was just a curious guy.
Fun fact, I put Makoto and Morgana in the Ichinose boss fight, partially because of this.
I remember crying so much playing this game, absolutely my #1
1:03 idk what it is but I find this part so chilling
I got spoiled about 2B death during my first playthrough while looking for nier guide. sadge
Who would've guessed that before the last of us 2, there were another game where you killed the main character halfway through the game, THEN you get to play with the same character that killed you Lol.
no one hates a2 for that lol
Yeah but A2 is actually a likeable character though.
@@rueceless7580 Abby's circle of friends are divided after she kills Joel. Some friends are cool with her while others are scared of her. She sleeps with Owen while Mel is pregnant with his child. Mel literally calls her a piece of shit and calls her out for her one selfish "good deed". She made some horrible decisions and is a polarizing character in the game, not just with the players. She wasn't painted as a saint. Her perspective just provided context to the story as a whole. At the end of the day, both Abby and Ellie did some effed up stuff and have blood on their hands. That's why Ellie let her go. Ellie realistically took more from Abby than Abby took from her. (Referring to actual body count) Just saying.
@@sxnseee I think players would be more upset if Abby just killed Joel and after that cutscene, you play as her. You at least got revenge on half of her friends as Ellie before the switch happened
At least a2 has character development and shes likeable unlike Abbtch
I wish i could play this game the first time again.
This is just too surreal, like I can't accept 2B dies here.
This game has one of the best stories and characters. So amazing. The story was so epic
Genuinely never cried to a game so much as I did for this game and I barely show emotions for anything. This game really kicked my ass mentally and I love it to death
Was hoping it was the subbed version :(
This hurts more than an alcoholic dad beating you
debatable
just watched the latest anime episode, it hurts as much as the first time I played this part years ago 😢
don't you think the council of humanity's voice sounds like the machine network?
There is no more humans in automata. That message was likely created by machines, or Androids.
@@pxal8816 the resistance aren't human?
@@fleta4112 The resistance is androids. There's not even a single human appearance in Nier Automata
@@NessieNice oh, lol.
@@NessieNice I really thought Jackass was a human as first, as she tests us as androids
This is like Gran from Granblue Fantasy goes nuts after Lyria died
This cannot continue

Literally me after seeing that Ubisoft trailer: 3:58
Fun fact : The screen effect make your eye hurt so much when you has been wake like 2 day or more (100% Aproved by me)
This hits harder then anything in life like anything can happen to you but it’s nothing in comparison with this a literally punched through the screen
I thought this scene was not gonna hurt as much as it did in the first playthrough but boy I was wrong 🥲
Man even to this day its rough to see this.
Its hard to sit through this X_X
A2: :|
9S: A2! I'll kill you!
Yoko Taro: 4:30
whos here after the anime adaptation :(

This is what happens when you install Bonzi Buddy onto your computer.
2:28 does anyone mind telling me what part of the soundtrack this came from 😭
i’ve searched everywhere and i can’t find itttt
"Sound of the end" is the name
At the start it won't sound like it but if u keep listening or skip a little bit the song u are looking for is there
Still hurts
Just played this part and man is it ballsy for them to kill the MC like this. It worked out pretty well so far those. Still trying to finish C and D endings. Then I’ll do E
"2B. I'm sorry, I have to kill you now!" when 9s is forced to kill the other 2B models.
So im in the final B now, once i finished that, the game itself si gonna go alone to the route C or i need some requisites for that?
HD PLAYGROUND so the game is gonna crush me alone, thanks, im gonna prepare mi mind
I love the fan reaction to all of this. It shows just how good if a writer Yoko Taro. That he got us attached to what in universe supposed to be emotionless androids. But were more human than any machine to all of us. Truly amazing
cliche anime scene
I wish he make another neir this game was made from glory of perfection
The day when 9S became a Man. With some amazing character development.
Never been this broke over a game💔
The way A2 looked @1:55. :)
10 out of 10👌
Shes so perfect
Yoko did this on purpose to hurt me specifically
4:15 ohhh.... that tasty HATRED for u.. nom nom!
