As far as I know, Somalia was the first country on the African continent to have introduced this type of passport back on October 2006. Good job Kenya for the implementation of the new EAC Kenyan passport.

I am an American and i remember when we got id's with chips. People said it was the sign of the beast. There is nothing more dangerous that a religious zealot. All the pain and suffering of man is due to religious zealots. What a beautiful world we could have without religion and its zealots.

How about those with contracts abroad that run through the time limit........will their books still be valid or they have a chance with our embassies in those countries handle it.

Is not that easy to get that epassport in Qatar we have contract they can't allow us to break it ,gava please please just give time

Unaenda kwa embassy ya kenya uko uliko.. Na uki home na uwe unarudi b4 deadline ya kubadilisha unaweza rudi na ile old hakuna noma/if you want to change it in kenya in your vacation well n good but itachelewa kutoka c 10days vile wanasema it can take upto 2 months o more
So here I am in K.s.a with my "old" passport which still has lots of years before it expires(2023).And my contract ends on 2020 January, which means i can't travel using my passport because deadline is August 31st.So I called the Embassy and the guy first of all is the most rude person I've ever spoke to.I was just clarifying the matter and he kept on telling me i must go to Nairobi for the passport renewal.Kwanza why should i go to Nairobi while my current passport was issued in Mombasa?.Second what's the use of embassies if kitu kidogo kama hii hawaezi fix na employees who should help us ndo the one's misguiding us.Wakenya tumelaaniwa.
