But if your eating from hand to mouth in the diaspora and you return home where there is no power, pipe born water, corrupt Judiciary, corruption police, corrupt clergy men, corrupt umunna and highly corrupt society etc if you returm here, Nigeria will happen to you.
Most Nigerians will eventually leave the West and come back home. Nigeria is a pleasant country to live in and be truly happy. It may look hard initially in Nigeria during the transition, but the job in the West can be monotonous, dry, with less opportunities for the average versatile and positive Nigerian. The security is improving and diasporas are ready to change the society for good.
People need to realize that the diaspora's contribution to other countries will NOT be credited to Nigeria or Africans. Western politicians will take all the credit. You can see this with Indians and Chinese. Upon all their contributions, India and China are still not seen on the same level as the U.S.
This is the type of migration I have been advocating for among Nigerians and Africa in diaspora."go, explore, acquire and repatriate back". This was what European did to Africa to develop their land during slavery and colonial eras. Unfortunately most "Japaing" candidates today are having escape route mentality which would eventually results to another slavery. Somebody must make conscious effort to develop his or her fatherland. Kudos Dr. Oni!
Which Nigeria did you expect people to return to? Same one where different insanity is the order of the day? A country where the priority of the leaders isn't human capital development? Same one where the leaders are more concerned about their selfish interests above the nation's and citizens' interests, welfare and well-being? Shall we even talk about the insecurity issues, corruption, bad government & anti-people policies, economic hardships brought upon the people by the bad and incompetent APC-led government. Given all the above reasons and many more, you don't expect sane Nigerians who have spent millions, sacrificed all, dedicated their lives, learning on the jobs to garner decades of industry experiences, integrating themselves into working systems and thriving environments, to wake up one day and the next thing they would want to do is to come home, where exactly? The same one that failed them, and made them run away in the first place?
@@TesterTester-sr6pr thanks my brother for your comments about the situation in Nigeria. You are absolutely correct. However one question I do ask everyone is this: Do we expect God or an angel to come and repair Nigeria? Definitely No, if no one is ready to make such sacrifice as this young man Dr. Oni we will continue to complain and running to seek refuge in another countries where you are always treated as second or third class human beings. Those countries we are running to were and are still been build by few people who are making sacrifice for their countries. Do you think you can not be a leader that can make changes. My brother let's change our attitude towards the country and see if things will not change. It seems most of us are only concern about ourselves and that's why we get the kind of leaders we have. Thanks once again for your contribution
@@bolasalak7360 Bro, while as a human I might want to agree with your point that neither God nor the angel will fix Nigeria, but us. However, Nigeria as-is cannot be repaired by a single entity, but would require joint efforts, strong determination, and collective decisions by all and sundry, both those at home and overseas. Haven't you seen many with great ideas who have returned home to contribute to the development of the country, but ended up losing their lives, if it's not to kidnappers, bandits, it is to auto accident due to bad road conditions, or even bad government policies. Terrible news about this abounds on the internet. Am I saying that it is a wrong move to go back home and contribute? Of course, not! But Nigeria is not quite there yet. And like I mentioned earlier we have to reach that level of national consciousness for a better Nigeria, fueled by strong determination, and with combined efforts of all, to achieve the Nigeria of our dream; where people would be happy to return home after gaining years of experiences in their fields, in order to contribute their quotas to the nation's development. Furthermore, there's a need for a shift in our collective mindset, particularly in the way we choose those who lead us or those we allow to represent us - from the local government level, to the state, and up to the capital territory. Sadly though, with this current crop of politicians, we are heading nowhere as a people and nation. And lastly, I am also of the opinion that we can't achieve all this by ourselves without God's support, for those holding the nation down to her knees are agents and representatives of the devil, the so-called politicians.
A lot of professionals here in the USA are ready to come bavk to Nigeria but they are still afraid of the type of useless government we have. They would kpai your dreams of helping to put things in place in Nigeria.

You can keep this interview and ask them to conduct another interview next year to see if his lofty goals still remain lofty goals or they have been met with harsh realities. Even Dangote with all his billions cried out few months ago. He doesn't have the same resources like Dangote to cry out when Nigeria begins to "change am" for him. It's one to have the skills, it's another thing to navigate the treacherous environment in Nigeria to utilize those skills.

People need to realize that the diaspora's contribution to other countries will NOT be credited to Nigeria or Africans. Western politicians will take all the credit. You can see this with Indians and Chinese. Upon all their contributions, India and China are still not seen on the same level as the U.S.
As a matter of fact,25 yrs is enough for an hardworking human to spend in United States and be back.
Everyone of us wants to return, but the fear of Nigeria happening…
@bolasalak7360 God bless you for this🤝🏿. A very insightful piece.
No one takes instructions from Nigerians in America. Glad he returned.
A lot of professionals here in the USA are ready to come bavk to Nigeria but they are still afraid of the type of useless government we have. They would kpai your dreams of helping to put things in place in Nigeria.
This is highly skilled first class US made Orthopaedic surgeon, a lecturer, Director, is already a billionaire in dollars in US and have one of the Best Orthopaedic Surgery clinic in US, is a billionaire in US, so he the capacity to come home and give back to Nigerians, that is a big humanitarian decision to made to come back to a country where political leaders completely abandoned their citizens to die without any good healthcare facilities.
If the government does their part, trust me, Profesionals like him all over the world will return to Nigeria in numbers.
Be safe
You can keep this interview and ask them to conduct another interview next year to see if his lofty goals still remain lofty goals or they have been met with harsh realities. Even Dangote with all his billions cried out few months ago. He doesn't have the same resources like Dangote to cry out when Nigeria begins to "change am" for him. It's one to have the skills, it's another thing to navigate the treacherous environment in Nigeria to utilize those skills.
I have said it before within the next 10 years if Diaspora’s don’t buy land you won’t have space. People are coming back to Africa! Just watch within 3-10 years. 😂😂
Nothing but the truth.
❤❤❤❤❤
I pray they will not frustrate you in that country.
You will certainly make it monetary and successfully well because many orthopedic surgeons have traveled

" I BLESS Y'ALL ! I'M WITH Y'ALL ! MY PROTECTION IS ON Y'ALL ! ! ! "
I hate her introduction that a patriotic Nigerian returned...... Is she implying that Nigerians who migrate are unpatrotic??? She really has a nerve....... What about the president whose doctors are all overseas, is he an unpatriotic Nigerian for constantly seeking healthcare in the white man's land???? Other races make life easy for its diaspora to return home and invest. Look at the Jewish state of Israel, so tiny bit has managed by itself to take on any body it perceives as a threat...... Thanks to its embrace of the Jewish diaspora who have gone in their millions to contribute to Israel's incredible growth.
❤
It's sad great talents have to leave their fatherland because of unpatriotic leaders.
Hang on, oni had japa before abi , he then returned when thought he is comfortable enough to buy anything at any price anywhere .So some of his colleagues need to japa now like he did, they may come back earlier than him (he spent 25yrs in the USA).He is underestimating the Nigerian situation in his naivity .It will clear in his eyes soon.I laugh in Ikare akoko 😂😂😂
😂
I'm sure he is close to top Lagos APC politicians who urged him to come back with all sorts of assurances.
Besides, he basically moved to Nigeria in order to retire and have a legacy or purpose after America gave him the essentials and more.
Doc., I'm more bothered about your security and that of your family than the skyrocketing inflation, which wouldn't be an issue for you now.
Please be safe in that Lawless country. I don't think I will ever return to that country.
I had my fair share of the Lawlessness and Recklessness.
The Toxicity of the environment alone is beyond human comprehension. I didn't leave because of a salary issue, but left because of a nosediving quality of life.
Be safe, Doc. Be on the alert. That country has got Hyenas in almost every home.
Return back to the United States if you start entertaining those hyenas. We need you here, hale and hearty. Thanks
The chance of him being killed in the US is higher than Nigeria. How many people have been killed in Lagos today? Stop consuming propagandist contents.
How can I locate your hospital please Doc.?
