My take; cement industry (dangote, bua, lefarge) declaring profit of N500 billion. Meaning that cost of cement in Nigeria is too high. So, cement can be sold at N3500 and not N7,500 and still make profit. This has to be considered seriously.

There is a need for further discussion on the VAT, especially with the derivation. Most companies, banks, and IOCs have their headquarters in Lagos and pay their VAT there while they operate in various states. Lagos was once a federal capital developed by the federal government. What of the VAT generated from the seaports and airports built by the federal government. Details of the VAT derivation should be well articulated. As for increasing VAT to 10%, Nigerians are already overburdened.

Wow...this Professor is not an INEC class Professor hopefully if INEC will not render you an illiterate. INEC has reduced many of our Professors to Pepper 🌶 sellers..

Prof. Okey Ikechukwu knows the truth, but to be politically correct, he's strictly analyzing. Nigeria is not one; we have the North and South as different segments. Therefore, Nigeria is not a nation. That's why the North, albeit through the Northern Governor's forum, has constituted itself into a pressure group. The Nigerian Federation is more unitary than federal. It's a huge challenge. Prof. Ikechukwu is a sound mind though.
