I was on it last weekend (had to go get fish at the fish markets in Seabrook). That left exit to get onto the old bridge is a bit of a challenge if you're not expecting a left exit. I have plans on doing SH-146 for a while, but was just waiting for that new section to open. Now that it is, I can do my video from Baytown to Kemah. BTW, do you know how long that new expansion has been opened? Rebecca, my wife, was asking me on Saturday, and I didn't have an answer for her since I didn't know it was opened until we were on it.
@@ki5aok I don't know if SH-146 is the first freeway that uses the left exit in USA. It's said the new expansion is open by Fall 2023, but I think it's open in January 2024.
@@JavierSerrano1 No, I can tell you the SH-146 isn't the first freeway that uses a left exit. There are several left exits in Houston alone (not including the Express lane entrances): I-10 East to I-45 North and South (two left exits in a row) I-10 East to I-69/US-59 North I-10 West to I-69/US-59 South I-10 West to I-45 South I-610 North (West Loop) to US-290 West I-69/US-59 North to Spur-527 SH-288 North to Sam Houston Tollway (South Segment) I-45 North to I-610 West (South Loop) SH-225 West to I-610 West (South Loop) I-610 West (North Loop) to I-45 South I-610 East (North Loop) to I-45 North Sam Houston Tollway South (West Segment) to Westpark Tollway East
Great drive and first! I already mentioned that about E-ZPass that I got from Massachusetts (MassDOT). What if I tell you that I also signed up for E-PASS issued by Central Florida Expressway Authority and have transporter shipped to here in Tennessee? E-PASS has the normal sticker (works in FL, GA, and NC only) which they are free, Uni original (white)/Uni Black portable that blends windshield ($14.95 plus tax, works where E-ZPass is accepted including FL, GA, and NC), or CollegePass sticker ($18.50 plus tax, works the same way as the normal free sticker in FL, GA, and NC). I chose the E-PASS Uni - Black transporter option because I can pay at Orlando International Airport parking lot whenever I go there for vacation or use as a backup in case of E-ZPass Massachusetts goes wrong and use it for rental car. I didn't go for SunPass (issued by FDOT division of FTE) because they had billing issues and complaints.
Be careful using two transponders that work on the same network. If both are in your car at the same time, you could be charged twice if the toll reader reads both transponders. This was the reason I removed my EZ-Tag from my windshield when I got the TollTag, as both transponders would work on every toll gate in Texas.
Cool drive tour. By the way, the new expansion of SH-146 in Kemah, Texas is now open.
