People who listen to Sylosis regularly will know how tight this is. Josh always talks about pick aggression and timing and this is bang on, great job 👍
Fair play, one of the best sylosis covers ive seen, Josh's guitar skills are no joke and as a guitarist myself i respect this cos i know how difficult there songs are to nail in full, great job
Dude, that was really good! You did a great job synching the two parts together, really clean playing.. I know you made this a while ago so i can only imagine how much better you’ve become since!
I got the intro. But once the power chords start. I feel like I’m not able to pick the pattern. And I also have only an acoustic. Is there like a slower version anywhere so I can get a hang on it? Cause on acoustic it feels damn weird. 😅. Yo u play amazing my man. Gained a sub here.
Quite rough playing it on an acoustic haha.. If you need practise, you can just simply select the "gear"/settings, and change playpack speed to 0,5. That'll slow it down to a manageble speed. And thank you!
Geez, that intro gives me goosebumps as well a other parts during the song! And there's something about your performance here, it's really great, your tone and playing are freaking flawless. (If I want to be annoying I only noticed a missed slide at 4:42 :P)
+MattyPS Thanks a lot man! I really love this song too, and as I've mentioned, it was probably one of the first songs I heard by them, after hearing "After Lifeless Years", and partly what made me fall in love with them! Hehe, glad I nailed it! It's very hard to judge while recording and editing! I always only realize the quality after a few days. You kinda get tone deaf listening to the same tone over and over again! :D Hahaha yeah! I actually think it was just the wrong note I hit. But I could probably point out many more mistakes here, but I'll just don't!! :p
+MattyPS Oh, and it is also the first video where I am using a Overdrive to boost the signal before the amp. It really boosts the attack for distorted tones, and evens out the bass! I am using the Maxon OD808, that I actually first heard that Josh was using. And then randomly I saw a guy selling one near me, so I took the opportunity, as they are normally not sold in Danish stores. It is really recommendable! lml
+MattyPS It definitely helps keeping everything quite a bit more tight! The fact that I have at least 2 tracks running throughout the whole thing, does quite a bit too though :p
I discovered your channel around 2 years ago when you uploaded your cover of out from below after I watched your suicide and redemption cover. If I hadn't found your cover of suicide and redemption I would have never even heard of Sylosis. They have been my favorite band for 2 years now and got to see them play in November. This sounds so stupid but it's true :D Good job on this cover too :D
+Isaac Fenlon Damn man! So glad I've had an impact! They really are a great band and the least I can do, is spread the love for them! :D Thank you very much!
Wow you really nailed this one! Like the previous comment said the tone is absolutely spot on. Your mic placement is good. Hell! you even nailed the solo! Great job man! I know you like being recommended new music. So I've got a few new suggestions for you :) Mors Principium Est: Check out Dawn of the 5th Era their newest album. That album is incredible. It's exactly the type of music you seem to enjoy; fast, technical, and brutal yet still rhythmic. "Leader of the Titans" is my favorite track. Also, you should check out Deadlock. They remind me quite a bit of Scar Symmetry with demonic vocals supplemented with angelic choruses. Biggest difference is they have a female vocalist for the choruses. She has a great voice. Oh, and they have some epic guitar work. Although they play on 7 strings I'm pretty sure. I'd recommend you start with their album called "Wolves." Every song on that cd is great.
+bbdawise Thank you so much man! It can be hard, at least for me, to judge the quality of my recorded sound, until like a day after! Because when I record it, I listen to it so many times, that you become used to the flaws and general sound image! So I am glad it worked out! The only thing I would've changed, was to bump up the bass from the original song, as that would boost bass and bassdrum a bit more! :) I definitely do, and I will give those a go sometime! Always a pleasure to find new music to listen to and explore! From your descriptions of the, I definitely am a bit interested! ;) Thanks again! lml
+xXBartleDooXx Haven't done tabbing in a while, and don't have plans at doing any, anytime soon, as it can be quite time consuming. But if I do, I will give it a go ;)
Sick cover! I just started learning this song two days ago. So far I have the rhythm down, just have to get that solo going. What camera do you use by the way?
+TheMathMog93 hey I feel like I'm learning the really hard songs of Sylosis and was wondering if there's any thing easier to start with. I'm trying to learn this but it's so fucking fast lol!
Emmanuel Sochy Most of their songs are actually quite fast/hard. Can you name some more songs that you've tried that are too fast? Try "Leech", "Mercy", "Trancendence", "All Is Not Well" :)

And thank you!
This type of playing is hard on the arm also. Gotta build up endurance and muscle memory. That takes about a month of practice.
Well done sir! Super clean
I love this song. You nailed it my friend.
Perfect 🤘one of the hardest thrash song perfect
Oh! It Grinds My Head.

Oh that was a perfect occasion and it explains why your tone was significantly better here!
+MattyPS It definitely helps keeping everything quite a bit more tight! The fact that I have at least 2 tracks running throughout the whole thing, does quite a bit too though :p
Yep, double tracking is a must!
you nailed that solo \m/
+Marco Ghessa Cheers!

The solo DEFINITELY needs to be tabbed out, it's so good!
+xXBartleDooXx Haven't done tabbing in a while, and don't have plans at doing any, anytime soon, as it can be quite time consuming. But if I do, I will give it a go ;)
Perfect cover, dude!
And btw, if you could tab the solo, that'd be grand!
+Teras Glad you think that of it man! lml
I haven't planned doing a tab for it, but I will do it, if I find the time and inspiration for it!
This is so fucking good!
+André Pinheiro Thanks! lml

Sick cover! I just started learning this song two days ago. So far I have the rhythm down, just have to get that solo going. What camera do you use by the way?

+SuperCooldude24 Can't play it tight enough yet unfortunately, some of those chorus lead are quite exhausting! :p
