This is what I love about Korean culture and Korean food. This past Saturday, we had my pastor and his wife come to dinner. I made Bulgogi, spicy Bulgogi (just added gochujang to Bulgogi marinade), yaki mandu, jjinpang mandu and, of course, kimchi and assorted banchan from my local H-Mart. They had never had Korean food and loved everything! This culture is about sharing and I absolutely love it. Thank you so much, Maangchi. Without your easy and delicious recipes, my heritage would be lost to me and my family. I can't wait to be able to teach my children how to make Korean food.
Thank you for your nice comments, everybody! Check out the written recipe. www.maangchi.com/recipe/buchu-kimchi And my blog post about food I had in Paris. www.maangchi.com/blog/food-in-paris
The chive kimchi is really easy to make. Can be a bit salty with that brand of fish sauce but after fermenting for a month, this kimchi is super delicious.
Seeing all of these lovely younger people enjoy your food and company made me teary eyed. As someone who lives far far away from her mom’s Korean cooking, I feel perhaps a glimpse of what some of these young Korean Parisians feel. I hope you know that you’ve helped me feel more at home by showing me how to cook and you’ve become my Internet “eemo” (이모). Thank you thank you for connecting with us through food and the deep love we Koreans have for authentic home cooking! I appreciate you!
I absolutely love that your fishmonger loved Korean food and spoke some Korean. That is just the sweetest story. I also adore the necessary fromage plate next to all your beautiful Korean food. What a perfect combination of food-centric cultures. Thanks as always for sharing!
i've tried it and it tastes good even tho i add soya sauce in the place of fish oil and indian red chilli powder in the place of korean chilli powder😀 if sm1 here making the same indian style i would suggest to add red chilli powder in medium quantity cause indian red chilli is spicy enough or you can tase it before adding and also don't use soya sauce in high quantity cause its salty! thanku for the video💜
Thank you so much I was about to ask the question whether we can add our Indian red chilli powder. Whether it will make any difference between two powders.
I'm feeling very stressed with exams, and watching your videos help me to relax Maangchi! I made some of your dishes and they all taste really nice. Look forward to more recipes from you!

Maangchi Hello, I lived in Songtan, South Korea when I was little and I remember my dad used to buy this Clams Kimchi side dish from the market and I loved them! However, everytime I google Kimchi Clams or Clam Kimchi, nothing related to that pop ups aside from the soup. So, I was wondering if you knew how to make them because when I came back to Korea 2-3 years ago and went to the same market they don't even have them anymore😭😭 Thank you!

Maangchi so, if we have no sweet rice flour and are using regular flour, do we add extra sugar? Ot sure how sweet the rice flour is....... thank you!
no, just use all purpose flour. Sweet rice flour is glutinous rice flour.
