Thanks, helped me to change my 2010 fiesta pads. On the left side i think the bleeding nipple was blocked i guess, had to open it more, so figuring out took some extra time, but eventually made it. Bought a plastic fuel line clamp, which cracked right away of course. Used some brake saddle grease instead. The cleaner had a warning not to spray on the rubber parts, could be worth a mention as well as what to do when a bleeding nipple is blocked. You must have excessive finger strength to remove the pads so easily, i had to pry a while :) .All in all took a bit over 2 hours as was my first brake pads change. Will need to still check the fluid levels.
Many thanks for a clear and informative film. If your wife has got 40,000 miles from a set of pads then she's a wonderful woman and deserves a box of milk tray! Thanks again.
One important thing you forgot was to remove the brake caliper slide boots then the pins, and then clean up and lubricate the pins before refitting. Brake caliper slide pins have the tendency of seizing with the heat that's generated when braking which causes uneven pad wear.
Thanks for the informative video! Only thing I wish was included was the torque setting for the sliding pins. Also, when loosening the sliding pins you use a 19mm spanner presumably to stop the pin from spinning? But you didn't do this when refitting, can you please explain as I am rather confused! 🙈
Great video but something popped into my mind when you said...''Safety is paramount'' to anyone watching this video......Never have your legs under the car no matter what! Never trust axle stands no matter what! an axle stand can suddenly collapse, even the most expensive type may fail one day, learn to sit with your legs to one side or crossed legs, my sister in law saw her husband nearly die to blood loss! One of his axle stands buckled and the car hit the ground that fast the disc pinned his leg to the floor, cutting a big vein in his leg and he nearly bled to death whilst trapped, luckily his missus got the car jacked back up and applied pressure to the gash and was taken to hospital, imagine if he was on his own.
Thats one of the best videos on brake changing done properly!
changing my fiesta pads today just want to say thanks for posting this it was very helpful. cheers.

Great video, exactly what I needed when the Haynes manual confused me

Adding to this, never use copper slip when doing the pins as the copper properties wear away the rubber seals. Use a silicon grease 👍

Excellent, given me confidence to now change my own pads
Good video gives me confidence to have a go on my fiesta. thanks.
Thanks. Glad it helped.
+james hibbert Eughhh you want to "Have a go" on your Fiesta.
Just make sure the exhaust isn't hot that's all I'll say.
lol
Thanks for that, maybe check the Brake Fluid reservoir after taking up the slack with pumping the brake pedal?
Great video. I have just changed mine today thanks to the help on this video. I also changed the discs

2017 on cars look a bit different. There is a wire spring clip on mine. Think you also need a 7mm - 0.5" Allen key socket.
hi, is the bleed pipe needed or can I bleed the fluid into a bottle etc? thanks

I thought exactly the same and also wear a face mask brake dust is toxic
Well done , exactly what I needed an easy informative video , thanks.
Good work sir...thank you for the upload..it's appreciated.
Great clear video thank you 😊
looks pretty easy. Thinking of having a go myself but scared I might mess it up lol
Perfect! easy to follow! cheers
Did you grease the slider bolts for the perfect job
Probably a silly question but I’m after buying some front pads for my fiesta do they sell them in pairs or do I need to purchase 2 lots?
They sell them in pairs.
Frequently as an axle set of 4 pads.
Did you bleed brakes after pushing piston back
Great video thank you
How reliable are these fiestas ?
My 2010 1.4 Zetec is at 70,000 and running great, no major issues :)
Got 58 plate 1.4 petrol on almost 107,000 running sweet as a nut! 👌🏻has had cambelt etc done and regular servicing. That’s what makes the difference
good vid did a good job, don`t want to sound picky, but i wound put a bit on the hub before you put the wheel back on, thumbs up from me
Tip #1 Keep your leg under the car to make sure than the rotor will not hit the floor if the car drop.
