I’ve dealt with window unit AC installation at my grandmother’s apartment that my mother also lives in. I picked out two units for it back in 2004 and they served faithfully until 2019, when both died, but thankfully at the end of the summer and when the owner of the duplex decided to put in all new windows. Timing was good. The previous ones had digital controls and worked awesome in full-auto with the vents pointing towards the ceiling. But gosh I hated pulling them in and out each year for her. I moved far away in 2013, so the living room larger unit remained in year-round as does its replacement in the new window.
My grandmother has been in a nursing home for months now, so I bought a tiny 5k btu unit for my mother to use in her own bedroom, also full-digital. Her room does not have a ceiling fan unlike the primary bedroom. It did at one point, but for whatever reason their town decided to outlaw swag-kits, and the fan had to come down. She has a Vornado to supplement that I also gifted her.
But as for me, from 3 years old to my current 36 years, I’ve only had central AC. I can’t imagine the window units all over the place. Not hating but I just can’t wrap my head around it. In your case you have no duct work so it makes sense. But at my grandmother’s duplex apartment, it has has forced-air heat. Easy to add a condenser and coil. It’s freaking 2022, sticking window air conditioners out windows is odd. But then again I live in TX and besides a few small units the big-box stores don’t even sell window units. It’s central AC or mini-splits.
Love your channel and can’t wait to see what ceiling fans and lighting go in the other areas. 👍✌️

Nice work on that Installation. I have a 1965 Weather Wheel that's VERY HEAVY! Takes two people to Install my Beast of a Machine. I'm glad that unit was a workable Installation for you.

The windows at my house are terrible. They're all wood with pulleys. And I have to mount air Conditioners in them. I don't trust them one bit. Window design needs to change to accommodate air conditioners better, not the units themselves.

that compressor was way to loud and if it is just the fan is it actually quiet? (compared to central)

That doesn't make sense. The compressor is nearly silent.

Just because its September, doesn't mean it will get cold right away, stays hot all the way up to the end of October, people take there a.c out WAY to early, like slow that sh*t down lol, I run my window unit even if its only 60/70f , my place is hot and fans sucks.
