Like all of you, I have been in school as well and unfortunately it wasn't the most pleasing experience. School simply takes all of our childhood, its the place where we spend 12 years of our life and I am confident that these 12 years can be used much more effectively. I mostly talked about my personal experience in this video and would love to know yours as well!

I disagree with you when you say that we don't need to learn math and science if you have other talents. I think everyone can be good at it if your teacher inspire you. The lack of Math and science knowledge in the population creates a lot of problems and delays progres.
School turned me from a happy fun kid to a moody sad person.... School made me be quiet and told me not to make jokes or have fun.. now I don’t want to do anything. School made me have less time to spend time with my family because “homework is soooo important...” school wasted my childhood life... while my family is going to the beach, I have to stay home to do homework... Lol, review review. I'm not entirely certain if you're being sarcastic lol. If not, try to review your notes in monthly intervals. The stuff you remember well, give more time before you see it again. The stuff you struggle with, see more frequently. The easiest to remember is 1 minute, 1day, 1 week (it should be 2,3,5 days as well, but still) 1 month (again 2nd or 3rd week depending on ease) then 2 months, 3, 4, 6, 8, etc. Play with it and see what works :D That way you won't forget what you've learned and you won't have to cram. Your working memory is pretty cool, but cramming doesn't allow the information to transfer to long term memory, so the info drops like flies when the test is finished. It saddens me that teachers don't incorporate review techniques into classes. School isn't gonna teach how to do it, so take it into your own hands and increase what you keep when you graduate. Review periodically and it should be there forever. Cheers :D

The only reason I learned English is because I moved to the USA for 4 years. Every time they teach us English at school I cringe, and the rest of the students still ask me how to say certain things in English even though we’re already in high school and they start teaching it since first grade.

I hate school. Not because of grades. Not because of the repeating of work. It was my mental health literally being destroyed constantly. since my first school through now at high school, my life has been made hell by teachers, students, myself and my mental health . In year 8 of middle school I got diagnosed with anxiety and depression. BECAUSE OF SCHOOL. I was bullied since the start of high school by multiple groups of people. My self astem has went down the drain. I attempted suicide and now self harm . I don't see the point in school anymore. It's fucking bullshit.
Now that I think of it school was the main source of my depression.. I got held back by my parents even though I had passing grades and this made me stay in seclusion and I was so fucking mad that all my friends would be 1 grade ahead of me.. I don't even talk to any of the previous friends I used to have.

Rock it out. :D Try to find the thing that makes the subject interesting. Relate it to your life and your interests. Review weekly and monthly (especially after tests, don't just stop looking at your notes. That info can help with something else in the future). Reward yourself when you finish things, try to move around ever 15-20 minutes, then review what you just went over when you sit back down and never stop learning. Learning is the vehicle for the rest of your life. Try all that and it shouldn't be too bad. You'll be way ahead of the other kids if you actually try to get something out of it. lol. Cheers Elliot.

Talking about schools...I would say India has the worst schools and the worst education system. Whenever a child is getting better at something, the system and parents don't pay attention to it but instead they tell them to improve the subjects in which they are poor at and it discourages the child's interests. And according to me, I think some people are not bad in maths or science related subjects, they don't understand it because the teachers don't teach them very well, they don't teach them the real world application of it. Schools don't explain them the hidden beauty of science.

schools are concentration camps, a punishment, not a place that motivates to learn new things and improve yourself. it's like when you start school as a kid your life is over, that's it, you won't have time (or the energy) to do things for yourself anymore, a couple of decades you are a prisoner in school, high school and college, and the rest of your life in a job you probably hate (if you are lucky, these days even with nice degrees you can't get a job). you waste the best years of your life in a place that doesn't teach you useful stuff for life, it sucks the will to live out of you, and in the best case scenario you just become a jaded cynic that don't care anymore and just want the week to end so you can just sleep the whole weekend.

my experience as a child was aweful because i saw things beyond and much deeper than what the teacher intended, and the teacher would hate me for that. i use to be a speed reader but was forced to wait for other slow readers, and was programmed to become a shitty slow reader. i had to be careful not to hurt the teacher's ego too. i really hated school until i started attending college. that's where the good stuff happens. not all college experiences are great but it's a good feeling to be able to expand your mental horizons without people demonizing you.
In college they continued trying to make me an atheist and a materialist and a non-free thinker despite pretending to be in favour of free-thinking, and they continued forcing me to waste time and my parents' money on textbooks full of lies and trivia that I never needed nor will need especially since I wanted to be an interpreter, but was forced to take totally useless classes like drawing when I already draw well enough anyway, and let alone algebra shit.
School is a place where teachers constantly give you homework and don't care about how much you can do. A place where they fake kindness. Where they say "good luck!" but don't bother to actually wish good luck for us.

Rock it out. :D Try to find the thing that makes the subject interesting. Relate it to your life and your interests. Review weekly and monthly (especially after tests, don't just stop looking at your notes. That info can help with something else in the future). Reward yourself when you finish things, try to move around ever 15-20 minutes, then review what you just went over when you sit back down and never stop learning. Learning is the vehicle for the rest of your life. Try all that and it shouldn't be too bad. You'll be way ahead of the other kids if you actually try to get something out of it. lol. Cheers Elliot.

I can feel this video so much. I really wanted this school system to change. Grades really don't determine you whether ur smart or stupid cuz everyone is smart in their own ways and not everyone is perfect and have to be good at everything cuz we're just humans :/
my own parents are comparing me to my grades "if my grades are low then my IQ is also low" that is the mindset that school has taught me and i dont think i can actually get rid of this mentality. sometimes i feel like if i cant do good then id be better of dead. thankfully those were just thoughts and i never acted on them. i really think that if it wasnt for the friends i have i probably wouldve committed suicide. school really sucks the will to live out of you if you cant accomplish what they want you to do.

Talking about schools...I would say India has the worst schools and the worst education system. Whenever a child is getting better at something, the system and parents don't pay attention to it but instead they tell them to improve the subjects in which they are poor at and it discourages the child's interests. And according to me, I think some people are not bad in maths or science related subjects, they don't understand it because the teachers don't teach them very well, they don't teach them the real world application of it. Schools don't explain them the hidden beauty of science.

schools are concentration camps, a punishment, not a place that motivates to learn new things and improve yourself. it's like when you start school as a kid your life is over, that's it, you won't have time (or the energy) to do things for yourself anymore, a couple of decades you are a prisoner in school, high school and college, and the rest of your life in a job you probably hate (if you are lucky, these days even with nice degrees you can't get a job).
you waste the best years of your life in a place that doesn't teach you useful stuff for life, it sucks the will to live out of you, and in the best case scenario you just become a jaded cynic that don't care anymore and just want the week to end so you can just sleep the whole weekend.

my experience as a child was aweful because i saw things beyond and much deeper than what the teacher intended, and the teacher would hate me for that. i use to be a speed reader but was forced to wait for other slow readers, and was programmed to become a shitty slow reader. i had to be careful not to hurt the teacher's ego too. i really hated school until i started attending college. that's where the good stuff happens. not all college experiences are great but it's a good feeling to be able to expand your mental horizons without people demonizing you.
In college they continued trying to make me an atheist and a materialist and a non-free thinker despite pretending to be in favour of free-thinking, and they continued forcing me to waste time and my parents' money on textbooks full of lies and trivia that I never needed nor will need especially since I wanted to be an interpreter, but was forced to take totally useless classes like drawing when I already draw well enough anyway, and let alone algebra shit.
School is a place where teachers constantly give you homework and don't care about how much you can do. A place where they fake kindness. Where they say "good luck!" but don't bother to actually wish good luck for us.
