Seems I came to the same conclusions, mostly. I got one yesterday and before I found your videos, I went on Erkul and fixed it up with the same stuff mostly, I just have a set of dual gimbal size 1 Attrition repeaters, still running Argos torps, and the grade A stealth drive just because
How are you finding it? Do the argos still work like trash or are they better? I've seen videos of folks saying they are enjoy it more now that it works better, despite the nerf to missile damage.
My pleasure, thank you for watching :-) if you press U, that should toggle the main power which should light up the cockpit. You can also press L but that’s for exterior lights. Sometimes that too makes the cockpit just a little brighter though. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this awesome guide :) Please release a guide on how to best use the retaliator in the Idris bounty mission and also in the same Hammerhead bounty mission. I am mostly interested on stealth tips, how to approach the target, at what speed, at wat distance to missile lock the target and then what distance and speed to launch the Typhoon 9. Eventually component upgrads.
First of all you're very welcome and thank you so much for watching! Most of the time when I do guides it's an external and internal tour of the ship as well as talking about its strengths and weaknesses and finally doing an upgrade recommendation. That being said I definitely will keep this in mind and when the opportunity comes I will definitely consider making a guide like that. Just know that if you want to be stealthy it's better to dump three torpedoes and go back to rearm in your eclipse because the retaliator takes a lot more finesse and you're definitely not going to be stealth. That's not to say the retaliator is not a great ship but especially for newer players, the eclipse is a much easier introduction to bombing because it gives you that buffer room of not being noticeable at long range which helps you work on your technique when you transition over to a retaliator. Thanks for watching and for your feedback!
Can anyone tell if its still possible in 3.16.1? I´ve tried it but the Typhoon didn´t hit the hammerhead, also when I´m around 8km away the hammerheads move around eventhough im full stealth (Shields, Weapons offline and Surpessed IR) Edit: Okay as I just followed the Torpedo: The Hammerhead just shoot the torpedo down, so no money making with eclipse in 3.16.1? :,-(
The reason why they're shooting the torpedo down is because they are aware of you. This is because stealth is not working at the moment as intended, so I would use it as a strategic bomber instead of a stealth bomber. Get your target as early as possible and lock on within 15 km. You want to let the torpedo go at full speed at around 6:00 to 7 km away or less you'll have to play with it to find it The Sweet spot. But to be honest unfortunately there's quite a few things wrong with the game at the moment so even that may not work properly.
Thank you so very much :-) I'm really glad you enjoyed it. Is definitely a great ship but it is currently available to pledge on the website if that makes things a little easier :-) come on by or discord and we'll see if we can help you by my doing some bounties together :-)
I believe if you strip the guns off the ship entirely then you will be even more stealthy, which is sensible because if you're getting into dog fights in this ship then you're probably doing it wrong anyway! ;-)
How would this build do against medium and heavy fighters? Would you still be able to remain undetectable? And if you shot your torpidos, would they be able to track and hit the targets?
I wouldn't recommend using the eclipse against fighters as they can be very hard to hit with these large missiles. You could hit them if they don't see you but it's very inefficient.
I am curious if the Size 9 Torpedoes are viable against smaller targets. I have a real problem with getting griefed right now; especially by smaller ships. I was thinking of picking up a ship to just destroy them; at the large end they are in Vanguards; at the small end in Talons. They do hold still quite a bit though, and these ships have terrible radar so I thought I could get in fairly close.... I am just skeptical the torpedo can catch them.
Bounties seems to be hellofabugged now. Been grinding hurston and crusader area 3days with hrt/vhrt and never got missions from Miles and/or group warrants. With a fast glance to google im not a only one not getting these missions. 😢
Very well can be bugged. There was a time I had my progress reset. The idea is that you want to do bounties as much as you can in hurston to get rep, then you get the certification missions. Once you do those, you start unlocking more missions, LRTs, MRTs, HRTs, etc. There are usually no VHRTs in Hurston (only in Crusader). You should start getting missions to meet with him and start getting Arlington gang member missions. Hope this helps!
Have you been checking the missions in the "personal" tabs? That's where Miles will contact you first. Also that personal mission has a timer, for me it started like after the first bounty hunt i did on a server and then it timed out a couple of times because i didn't realize fast enough that it was there :-) once it timed out you have to switch servers and do a bounty to get it again
I forgot to reply, but you know what they say. Better late than never. Never got the appointment so i went desperate and ran down to MV bar just to see if Eckard is there. He then started the dialog with me and threw the 1st starter mission. After that it's been all fun and pure money-printing.
You need to do all of your Bounty certifications in Hurston. Once you do this continue to grind bounties until you get a mission called outsourcing opportunity in your personal tab. You will need to meet with Constantine Hurston on lohrville at the business district. He will give you a mission to retrieve an object, once you complete that continue to grind bounties. you will eventually get another mission called appointment in your personal tab from Miles Eckhart who is going to send you after the Arlington gang members. Kill all of the gang members and you should be able to unlock all the group missions.
Do the missions really pay well when each torpedo costs 20 000 + credits each? These missions for 87k do you have to kill one hammerhead for that or all 3? If it is 87k per hammerhead i get it. I really love the look of this aircraft and hope its on free-fly in November.
Whenever you have a bounty you only have to kill the named Target. If each of them costs 20K which will probably change then that's still giving you 67k and you don't even have to fight.
SSP Gaming thanks for the reply. Thats perfect and after the initial grind a great way of making cash. What ship did you use for the grind up through the ‘ranks’ to get these missions? I love the vid well done. Will maybe pop over to your discord.
I actually really enjoyed using the freelancer mis. It's got some pretty good fire power especially if you have somebody in the turret with you, not to mention 28 size 3 missiles. Definitely come by the discord, I can suggest some other ships for you, but all of this is very very personal and it will depend on what you enjoy flying as opposed to what seems to work the best in my opinion. Also you're very welcome and I'm glad you enjoyed the video :-)
SSP Gaming great i will come over. In PTU as we have a lot of cash i have tried vanguard sentinel i like it, also own the cutty black and with fixed size 3 panthers or nn14 and 48 size 1 missiles it seems capable ( but i always loose a wing or engine ha ha its too easy). Will try freelancer tomorrow. Cheers.
I just wish they would finally fix the damn radar and announciator panels. It's a rather small issue but it annoys me to no end that you have basically no awareness of your surroundings. I paid 300 bucks for it, a very long time ago. I expect a functional radar.
As much as I empathize with your situation, because I also have some gripes, it is not fair to say that you paid $300 for a ship. You pledged $300 towards a project, a project that you knew at the time was in development. As a reward for your investment in the project you were given access to a ship. I'm not trying to correct you because of semantics. I'm trying to teach you that adjusting your expectations for this game will also adjust how you feel about it. This is from personal experience. The game used to infuriate me on a daily basis to the point that I didn't feel comfortable playing anymore even though I really wanted to. What I realized was that my expectations of the game were unrealistic given the state of development. and that my frustrations were caused as a result of my expectations being too high and constantly being let down by the game. I would say keep your expectations very low but keep your aspirations high. This way if literally anything positive happens it will make you smile, if anything negative happens you would have expected as much and not be upset. I hope that helps! It certainly helped me.
@@SSPGaming I certainly understand your notion, tho I'm far past that. I mean with over 2000 bucks invested the game did something right for me. While the original comment of spending 300 on "a ship" was more meant in a snarky but humorous way, it still does annoy me. It seems like a minor thing to address yet its fairly important for the ships operation. I also think just directing any criticism of the games state to "its still in development" isn't entirely right. While the game does aspire to be great things...its also been in development for more than 10 years by now, with me being a part of that since 2016. In a cruel way the speed of development is almost making me see publishers in a new light. They offer direction to what else becomes a scattershot approach to game development.
I appreciate your point. But honestly, as much as I hate to be "that guy" that says it's still in development, it's meant to be more of. (unfortunately) hard truth than an excuse. The team has certainly made mistakes. However, the progress made over the last year has been monumental, with 2021 shaping up to be the biggest tech year thus far in this games development. The project is unprecedented and nothing like it has ever been done. Therefore I don't think it's fair to judge it on its development speed. Finally, it's polishing and fixing bugs is not something that is largely seen until Beta. In alpha, most of the patches and "fixes" are functional ones, in that, "does it need this in order for the game to function at all". Lesser issues are not issues until the beta phase, where the focus shifts from laying the groundwork to polishing what's been built.
@@SSPGaming thats not exactly true. If you build on top of buggy code for years, it will create such huge spaghetti code that it will be bugged indefinitely. They should be fixing what they make along making content
I recently saw this ship ingame and was like oke cool stealth bomber sounds fun but cheeeeses 1 shot a hh? Is it still that good vs a hh? If yes I might consider grinding my money for it but I guess it's not that good for pvp? Since missiles/torps are somewhat stupid with moving targets?
It is definitely still that good and can definitely one shot a hammerhead. But because missiles are stupid and because size nines especially are really big they are easy to dodge so that doesn't make this a good option for PVP.
