@caragarcia2307 depends on the crime. Lots of prisoners do appeals consistently, and depending on the nature of the crime new evidence could be uncovered. How are they going to evacuate a skyscraper JAIL? Like how does that work? If there is a fire or something and the building needs to be evacuated quickly where do all the inmates go? This looks like a recipe for disaster!
You want jail to be effect and strongly discouraged. Make independent cells 4X6X4 just like some other countries do. In South Korea jails are very small and offer free heat in summer, free A/C in winter and 2 meals a day with rice 24/7/365. Now you're getting the picture of why some countries have very low crime.

They should build it outside of NYC. What a stain on society to place any jail or prison directly inside of cities. Prisons or "jails" need to be built outside of cities. If you're building jails inside of towns or cities then the real estate in those cities need to be the lowest costs for rentals, condos and/or homes. Any time you bring casinos and jails into cities, and build them inside of cities, you get skyrocketing crime, poverty, and higher costs in real estate. It is a stain on society. Why can't they build "jails" outside of the cities? "Hey look, it's an iconic jail smack dab in the middle of NYC", what a shame. And that just goes to show you how government thinks about the people who foot the entire bill of government. Government is evil man in my opinion.
That’s where all the crime is happening…in the big city so you can just keep your criminals to yourself. Maybe the jail towering over the view of all of the other buildings will serve as a reminder not to do the crime.
Trade offs. If Riker's is so awful, then change the management. If it's structural, update and repair. On the other hand, it's a prison, not a resort. The tower jail should at best be located on Riker's. And whyv would they select Chinatown? Historically Harlem was a massive center of felonious crime. So, maybe there would be better. But I still think Riker's should be fixed.
As a native Long Islander I can tell you it’s gotten bad out here too. @@Jaded_Jester Probably because they can launder more money with it at that location.
That’s a lot of money that’s gonna disappear 😮💨😂😂😂
they make money off imprisoning people.
It's not all going to disappear. Lots of that money will be used for kickbacks and campaign contributions.
They're more focused on housing criminals instead of housing and helping the homeless folks smh..
And a lot of people support that viewpoint. I swear, they're no better than criminals themselves.
Well, what would you have them do with criminals
Homeless people for the very most part choose to stay homeless. They refuse to get off the drugs.
They're just about one and the same.
@@alastor8091 you also clearly don’t know anything about chemistry or biology, and your stance on addiction is not only disgusting it’s pathetically ignorant
"I built the most inescapable Minecraft prison" ahh jail
Honestly, the doctors pushing surgeries is the most dystopian thing. This society is wildly far-gone!
That's so evil, they're building a super villain's tower.
Aka big government
@@mi12no the US makes up 6% of world population while accounting for 25% of all jailed people world wide. all of the EU has bigger government than the US with 1/10th the amount of people in prison. it has nothing to do with big government. ronald reagan, famous small government man, loved building jails.
Dude no kidding! I was thinking that they're going to pay a fortune to have this building made, the most evil tower I've ever seen, and it's going to be used against them. It's like they're paying for their own demise. This is going to bite them in their butts.
A tower full of villains you meant.
tower of Sauron of sorts surely
How are they going to evacuate a skyscraper JAIL? Like how does that work? If there is a fire or something and the building needs to be evacuated quickly where do all the inmates go? This looks like a recipe for disaster!
Do you actually think they care?
Towering Inferno 5.0.
Same way you evacuate any other skyscraper. You Calmy go to the stairs and walk down. While hoping the fire isn't using them to spread.
Probably same way they did twice towers.....
They will build it so that the fires do not destroy the structure. That way they cremate all the inmates and just fill it back up.
NYC is slowly turning into Gotham
Don't they ever watch sci-fi? The skyscraper jail is part of the next step to a dystopian future. The step after that is a prison in Earth orbit.
reminded me of the movie 'Judge Dred'
The earth orbit one will be the best.
@@Gillman78ah yes the mega block! Or cyberpunk
lol, just watched that movie 'The Escape" with Ray Liotta, your comment makes me think of it.
OK, there is also the prison island, but at this point, isn't that just Manhattan?
What is happening to NY man, crazy…
No it's not. It's completely expected to any sane on looker. If you thinks it's insane, odds are you're the crazy one.
Escape From NY, people. Snake Plissken won't be able to save you this time...
Or Daniel Penny
Damn, saw your post too late. :)
Escape from NY was a documentary...just like THEY LIVE
SOLID SNAKE
Thats right, Snake can't land on the W.T.C. roof anymore............in
a glider.
KEEP GOOD STORIES LIKE THIS ONE
Why don't they just build it on Riker's Island?
They want the land for upscale apartments
Probably height limits since it’s right next to an airport
That was my first thought. You already have a whole island dedicated to a prison.
@Evenst3vn I am sure some 8 story combloc style jails would have worked fine.
100% a guess but the ground might not be able to support anything higher than what is already there
The movie Escape from New York is slowly becoming real.
the giver
Goooood Morning Gotham City!
They wanna build the real life Peach trees iykyk 🤣
Will be taller than the Statue of Liberty let that sink in
Dredd was set in 2080s. Seems like we have a rare case here, the real world faster than the movie.
You clearly never read about the time in between now and dredd's service. Smh
Why are they giving weight loss surgery to people in jail???
Thats what i want to know!!! 'Elective surgeries'???
Bc they are stupid
Makes more space i suppose.
Go find evidence of it happening lol
Maybe they can't fit in the uniform and they don't trust them in a hospital?
Wasn't there a movie with such a prison?
Judge dred
Escape from NY... Snake plinskin... They tell u in "movies" aka PREDICTIVE PROGRAMming
I'm thinking _The Platform_ but I'm certain there's another movie
"This is an incorrect thought process" - Prison Director Poe
Will it have a revolving door?
Hahahah nice
Of course... Just like CLUB FED for them industry puppets
Oh course. Recidivism is profitable
More crap to hurt the legal taxpayers... 🤦
This!!
Well this action is better than sending massive amounts of money to Ukraine !
@Your_tata
Most Definitely 💯
You want jail to be effect and strongly discouraged. Make independent cells 4X6X4 just like some other countries do. In South Korea jails are very small and offer free heat in summer, free A/C in winter and 2 meals a day with rice 24/7/365. Now you're getting the picture of why some countries have very low crime.
That sounds nicer then what I delt with.
Other countries also have harsher punishments. With things getting cut off for stealing. Think South Korea still use the stocks for capital crimes.
Prison should be hell not a holiday camp
This isn’t a prison, it’s a fucking jail. Why does nobody on this thread understand the difference?
Rikers is is no beach 🏖️ resort…
Prisons should be abolished
@@cawheeler27
I hear ya !
did 20 years at Rikers,
retired NYC correction officer…” NYC streets are tough, Jail, even tougher !”
And don't forget that it ONLY HAS ENOUGH CAPACITY FOR 800 inmates, not 6,000 like a tall scrapper should have
Do they know *"Escape from New York"* wasn't supposed to be a "based upon a true story"?
Premature Documentary
Why can't they just demolish Riker's Idland and build the tallest skyscraper jail there.. Mordor'sTower may also help bring in tourist revenue.
Because that would make sense.
Not one illegal immigrant will ever be in there. That's for citizens only because americans deserve the best sentences
No one belongs in prisons we all should be free
@michael3napoles have you killed someone ? What exactly are you trying to say here?
@ I don’t believe in jails/prisons we all should be free
@ the police/military should be defunded
@@michael3napoles free to kill?
I pay taxes in NY. Can we choose who belongs in the new jail? I'll start with George Sorors, Alex Sorors, and Bill Gates. 😮
the real criminals
Followed by Pelosi, aoc too
Not a jail but an evil liar gaurentee you will be massive rooms under the jail for evil
Chicago already has a skyscraper jail right in the downtown area. If you're high enough in a neighboring building you can see inmates pacing around in the open air "yard" on the top floor.
I can already picture Snake Pliskin paragliding onto the roof of that jail😂
3 Meal and Cozy Bed. 😂
Those are 5 stars prison
💯
And a view on the city
One of the few buildings that tall enough to pierce the smog
3 hots and a cot…..
No bills
I’d still pass
New York City is going downhill man. Sad to say that as a native New Yorker 😔
you do not look dutch to me .
Your people are one of the main reasons. Listening to rap and hiphop and always being ghetto and tough and rowdy against law abiding scared people....the price to pay is tough.
It's been so bad this guy made a whole channel bout NYC and still had a video out every day based on 1 city 😂
@@ChrisWijtmans You're right : let us bring back Dutch as NYC's official language.
Ummm if you want get technical... The INDIGENOUS people are the original.... But yea they sold NYC for 5$ and trinkets etc... now a whole new "people" own basically all corps etc...
This is the most dystopian nightmare to ever exist in the future. I have a feeling that it won't be for real criminals but for whistleblowers, political dissidents and those who tried to protect themselves.
Yep.
Hmm... that rendering of the new building looks a lot like Isengard. Lol 😂😂😂
Fortunately, There is a federal jail in downtown chicago
That’s where all the crime is happening…in the big city so you can just keep your criminals to yourself. Maybe the jail towering over the view of all of the other buildings will serve as a reminder not to do the crime.
Trade offs. If Riker's is so awful, then change the management. If it's structural, update and repair. On the other hand, it's a prison, not a resort.
The tower jail should at best be located on Riker's. And whyv would they select Chinatown? Historically Harlem was a massive center of felonious crime. So, maybe there would be better. But I still think Riker's should be fixed.
Happy New Year Cash. Thanks for all your hard work and insight.
As a native Long Islander I can tell you it’s gotten bad out here too. With everyone trying to move away from the city even the eastern part of LI is getting super congested and we have had a significant rise in crime over the last 4 years. The Governor and NYC officials need to be recalled for the mess they’ve made.
Recalled is mild
@@vahagnboudakian4946 true, but I feel like it’s hard enough to recall. Charges would be great but with NY’s justice system the way it is we will never see it.
@@vahagnboudakian4946 besides, we would be contending with the morons that actually like what our government is doing.
Wait how does a tall building stops inmates from being violent to each other? And why not build this building right next to the current ? … whose idea was this ?
Well you see they want the island of rikers for the elites waterfront properties they will build.
An asinine waste of revenuable real estate.
"Citizens of Peach Trees. Judgment time."

"Forget it, Cash. It's Chinatown"
Old George Carlin skit...

Then he goes on to say, prisons sounds pretty safe, not like bad guys are gonna hang around a prison & if they break out? What do you think... They are gonna stick around? Lol...
Why dont they build it on Rikers Island?
Why are jails becoming nice and convenient?
