  • Can you replace a 12v lead acid battery with a 12v lithium phosphate? This is a common question and decision faced when replacing a gate motor battery or an alarm battery. Well, I faced a bit of a hassle. Let's take a look.

Nice one bro, I changed mine on the Centurion motors and did not have the same problem . I changed the electric fence energiser one too, these Lithium ones are awesome.
I have had to change batteries often in the past, I’m hoping this will solve it.

Hi I had the same problem but I forced on the connectors for the lead acid battery onto the new lithium battery. But now my gate motor will not open or close when I press the remote. Does it need a different charger (for lithium rather than for lead acid) than the one in the gate. Also I suspect the gate charger is not charging but when I look I do see the light is on. Any ideas.

Maybe a fuse blew, you have to do some troubleshooting

You can also connect 200 Watts Solar Panel and 20 A controller to charge same batteries..Works 100%

All I know, is, I got a Pride MED go power chair, with 2 Acid filled Nano - Silica sealed, 12 volt & 20 ah. I wanted to upgrade, change to a new lithium ion battery, but must also change are power controls, and a new charger, would be $600.00 too much, will stay with the Interceptor 2 non spillable Sealed Lead Acid Battery, NANO - SILICA Type NB12,200 High Performance 12 V. - 20 ah. a 2 pack batteries
