Making this tonight to go with plain chicken breast. I think I will leave out the cauliflower and add fine diced red bell pepper. Thank you again for sharing your incredible cooking knowledge Shamza. :-)
This food is soooo comforting. Growing up, Mom used to make this for us on Sundays with fish curry, fish "pulusu" (I'm from Chennai) or chicken curry. This goes well with any kind of meat on the side, or even a veggie curry. It's one of my top favorite comfort foods. God bless you for the wonderful memories. I'm making this today.
I haven't seen many Instant Pot/multi-cooker videos on this channel - do you plan to do some in the future? I feel these one-pot recipes would lend themselves very well to IP/multicooker, with a time and effort saving over making on stovetop
Hi, Yes I do plan to share instant pot recipes in the near future, we are currently out of space in our little kitchen so have no room whatsoever for it yet.
Thanks, I've a few that I use on Amazon Affiliate store, the link is in the description. The ones that I cook in regularly are the Queenwest trading company pots which can be purchased from Homesense or Tkmaxx.
For how many people and is it a main or side? I would guess it would be good as either. Also, can you use fresh bay rather than dry? I have a bay tree it seems a waste not to use them
Hi there, this will happily feed 4/6 people depending on portion size and yes it can be served as a main or a side. Regarding fresh bay leaves, absolutely.
Although by no means as experienced as yourself, I’ve found that my experience of salt balance changes, depending on when I taste during the whole process. For example, a masala tasted for salt after adding water will taste less salty than later on when the sauce has concentrated. Other dishes taste over salted, but when everything is cooked to completion it’s perfect! Am I just weird?
I'm always looking forward for the next recipe. This was simple to do,I have to be honest I've learnt how to cook because of this channel.

Why do you cook with steel pots ? is because other material are not good?
Yep, stainless steel is very good to cook in and also my hob is ceramic and i can only use pans that are compatible which are stainless steel.
Where I live I cannot find Black Cardamom pods what else can I use?
Leave them out, if you can't find them.
