I spent THREE YEARS watching many videos to find which one would work with the blinds I had when I bought my current house and none of them worked, and I already gave up. Somehow today I came through this video and thought "hey, these blinds looks exactly like the ones I had" and I removed them in 15 seconds! THANK YOU! Now I can buy something modern
Thank goodness for TH-cam and you! I've been puzzling over how to remove these blinds for 15 minutes. 😂 Update: I still had trouble and waited for my husband to get home. I told him what I had found and he didn't believe me. Took the first down by unscrewing everything. Convinced him to try it this way and he said, "why didn't you tell me that before?" 😂
You're a lifesaver! I had a friend work with me with me on one one end my friend on the other. It worked! The blind that has been stuck for 2 years finally was removed! Thank you very much!!
I watched your video and used your trick of depressing where the hardware is and twisting downward to remove my blind. I had it down in 2 minutes. That’s the fastest and most accurate DIY video I’ve ever watched. Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! You are the only one who showed me how to remove my blinds after searching and trying for an hour! With your guidance, it took 5 seconds 😉
I was ready to rip these things off the wall!!! Thanks so much, saved me a couple hundred dollars here! They were still a bear to get off but your closeup of the bracket really helped!
Thanks so much! At first it was daunting, but then I watched the video a couple of times and tried it one step at a time and it worked like a charm! Thank you so much!
Thanks. Clearly explained. Even with this clear explanation I found it hard to actually remove the blinds. I didn't like this clipping system when I installed the blinds and I like like it even less now.
So Dr Levolor!!! That was incredible and you have no idea how long we have tried to figure these babies out! They are great braces but the engineering on them is not “user friendly.” It wasn’t until we were washing them (for the first time in nearly 10 years, that my wife noticed an iconic instruction...and the type of the blind Mark I that we were able to find you video. You have no idea how overjoyed we were to get this off of the track. We had 4 of them on one longer window treatment. So we had to press HARD backward ...in tandem...my wife on 2 and me on 2. But we had to do them TOGETHER! Those little springs were crafted by elves (I am sure). Well, all of that just to say thank you for the demonstration. Within minutes the blinds were down and on their way to the shower to get washed! LOL ...really
Hahaha, that is too funny as they are tricky. Most people probably believe there is some type of magic holding the blinds up since you nothing which stands out as where to push or pull to get the darn things off. Enjoy the dust free blinds and thanks for the comment. 👍
I have the old levolors that have the little "teeth" ... and that was an easy rotate and snap. I can't wait to get the new $220. Mark 1 that's 69" across and 58" long, and attempt to "just simply" push in the spring. :-) I guess I'll be changing out the brackets too.
Thank you for this video, I had no clue what to do, just as you said, there is nothing in sight to take it off, you just made my diy simple, thanks buddy.
Helped me out big time. I thought for sure I was gonna end up ripping down the whole assembly in a raging fit and I'm somewhat mechanically inclined. Lol. Thank you!!!
ugh thank u easiest 5 mins of my life, if u have a bigger window there might be three clips, mine had three and i was so confused why it wasnt coming down 😭
I LOVE TH-cam!! Thank you! This solved my problem! Thank you so very much! It was so easy, good thing I had not yet completely destroyed my shade with a screwdriver.
Thanks very much. This video really help me. I have been trying to remove my window blind for so long on till I found this video. It’s really helpful to me.
This is so funny to me how simple u made this look while also showing it's tricky and therefore realistic for a second but still took under like a minute and that's impressive. The one I have I got the first one off easily enough and couldn't for the life of me get the other side and just kind of had enough so I shook it back and forth and it slid out 😂 I was like oh what the hell that's how u do that?? So now I get to try this method (this vid) with the older ones 🤞🤞
uhhgggg this was really helpful but I always seem to only release 1 (did this 2 times but same each time) and it is an absolute nightmare to get the other off. (havent successfully done the 2nd) any troubleshooting ideas?
I had four brackets for my blinds, but one of them engaged wrong during installation. The instructions also had me install the brackets right up against the back of the window, giving much less leeway. Getting it sorted without three friends to press on all the brackets at once was a nightmare. Eventually got it in but I'm not sure if the blinds are ever coming out without also tearing the wall down haha.

I'm really hoping this is the same as the blinds set I have. My cat destroyed one of them and I need to replace it. The Levolor Mark 1 looks identical to mine. Will update when I find out. Thanks!

thanks for uploading this, just had to take the ones down in the kitchen and was pulling my hair out, similar blinds to these but was hoping a similar process which it was, would have ripped the bloody things off if I had not seen this, thankyou
I live on the coast in California, and all my attempts to remove two of my blinds with this method failed. Can these brackets corrode? I don't seem to be able to get one side to rotate.
I have old Kirsch venetian blinds that are now failing. I'm going to guess that they are mounted in the same way as are the Levolors. I emailed Kirsch from their website and they referred me to Levolor customer service which was a dead end. I'll try this method when it is earlier in the day so if it does not work and I break something, I'll have time to go to the hardware store and hopefully fix things.
Hi, I have these blinds but when I try to pull them up by using the strings on the right side, there's a lot of resistance. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks!
The blinds in my house don't seem to have these 'latches' to push against. They are about 30 years old, so is there an older method for removing the blinds?
Hmmm, yeah if the brackets weren’t installed correctly it might make it even harder to remove. I would focus on one side at a time and see if I could loosen up the bracket connection.

TY for the simplicity of your videos. I know how to take my blinds down to clean them.

😂no doubt these blinds are one of the more frustrating I have ran across.

Great video! I removed my old blinds according to your instructions! But what do you call the matching blinds of this type of mount? Thank you!
I had four brackets for my blinds, but one of them engaged wrong during installation. The instructions also had me install the brackets right up against the back of the window, giving much less leeway.
