- A lot happens your first year on testosterone. I decided to document some of my facial and vocal changes by filming myself reciting one word each day of an original 365 word poem for a year.

Three hundred sixty-five days. Three hundred sixty-five words.
The words are written. The days are not.
Three hundred forty words from now, What will you have witnessed
Who will be more transformed? In three hundred twenty-five days
Or three hundred words.
By the end, Who will I be?
Will I still be here? Will I make it to the end of this video?
I have been locked away my whole life. My body is a cage, laid in gold
Envied Adored
But I am the Minotaur My reflection, I see in the glittering bars of gold, is warped wrong.
In the darkness of the labyrinth, Grotesque animals swim in my head.
Creeping faces behind impossible veils.
Is this the face that fooled them with a glimpse And burnt the monstrous mask I hid behind?
Without my mask, The false costume is gone
But with it, the protection, a forcefield of comfortable conformity
Now I stand bare for the world - Asking the crows to peck at my skin.
Within the walls of the labyrinth, without my disguise, I am starving hysterical naked.
Drowning in the cavern measureless to man.
I made a pact and took the road less traveled by
Now it's time to cut free the chains and venture out of the woods
A wild trial lays before me, orchestrated by the fearful,
who close in like vultures - their beaks filled with posey.
But soon, I will soar like Daedalus with wax wings of my own construction, gleaming in supernatural ecstasy.
Mounting over and beyond my past, Upside down bright blinding bold endless orange.
The stone fortress blown to pieces By the firecracker boy who took his sadness with him.
So you say Carpe diem
I say Carpe noctum.
Because at night, we dream.
And I will seize my dreams. Hold them close to my chest,
So tight in my fists, They burst through the bone,
light up my veins, Crawl up to my brain
and become my new reality.
And here my exposition is laid before you
A new beginning
One year of
Growth
Change
Transition

I am both deeply satisfied yet deeply confused at that...poem? Especially hearing it with the changing voice. It's certainly art AND science, in a weird way...so many things.

the change is almost unnoticeable when it's gradual but then at the end it was so obvious how far you've come, physically but even more importantly, mentally. so proud of you jackson ❤️
