I agree. If they lost the games close you could MAYBE make an argument, but those losses were brutal blowouts. I just can’t see a world where they get in especially when the committee takes into account the “eye-test” which they will fail. The reason I bring up the eye test is because just solely looking at a team with two losses doesn’t seem too bad, but the margin of loss against Bama and TAMU is too much to overcome
This is a fantastic breakdown. It's apparent how much thought & effort went into making the video, especially in time for the games tomorrow. Keep up the good work, this put a couple extra games on my radar that I'll definitely have to tune into now :)
Great point about army. Teams that just miss out on the playoffs shouldn’t complain, it used to be 4 teams, and before that only 2. So be lucky u were in the running. The new playoff is for teams like undefeated army that beats a team like ND
On god like this breakdown is SO in depth, especially for a hobby channel like this, like bro is so passionate about CFB and I personally am totally here for it
13:24 Texas has played one good team all year and lost pretty handedly Now they have to play A&M on the road in one of the most hostile environments in college football Good luck
Meh, that loss can be chalked up to Ewers having played horribly the month after his injury. The only close game Texas has played was versus Arkansas, the Vanderbilt win wasn't really close at all if you actually watched the game
Oregon had to play 8 weeks in a row without a bye, including the Ohio State game, traveling back and forth between the Midwest and Autzen. Wisconsin was the last game of that slate, and was a textbook trap game
When CFB season comes back, if you do a weekly update I’m here and if you already was well… I’m here lol. You are the equivalent of Boogie for NBA and that’s a huge compliment . Love this stuff
It’s crazy how many of these scenarios have already played out or half played out after this weekend. Part of me now thinks the winner of Clemson-SC is getting an at-large bid, but we’ll know more based on how the Committee ranks them on Tuesday. I think there’s a good chance the winner of that game is in though.
@ bc i graduated from IU and when i was there they were awful at football. just because i don't watch it now doesn't mean i didn't support my team while i was there >< i grew up in indianapolis btw
Can we all agree 12 team playoff is everything we wanted since watching college football? 4 teams still left out some Dawgs, pun intended. Even if my Gamecocks don’t make it I can say we didn’t deserve it, although I think this team can play with the best
im not a South Carolina fan but it's a real shame the refs basically stole the LSU game from them. That would have them at 2 losses and in the mix with all these other teams.
Now I may be wrong, but if army would beat notre dame and win out they would pass up the big 12 and make the playoffs as the 12th seed since it’s the highest five champions. If the big twelve canibalizes itself pac 12 style, Tulane could get in if they win out. Very interesting year for college football
If Baylor won the Big XII only to be left out of the CFP in favor of B10, SEC, ACC, MW, and AAC, that would be absolutely brutal for the Big XII. I of course want at least 1 team from the Big XII to make it to the CFP and of course I would root for them to win it all, but that result I just described would be the ultimate chaos
if south carolina has a prayer of making the cfp, then clemson also has a shot even if they don't make the ACC championship game. Since they're ranked above sc right now, they would benefit from the exact same chaos as south carolina. Plus they would also have to win out, and would have to blow out south carolina in their last game. Even then I still think the committee puts a 3-loss sec team above them, but it's possible
As a Navy fan I am hoping beyond hope that Army wins out and steals the Big12's Conference championship spot. (Course I hope that Navy pulls off the upset but that game doesn't affect playoff placement)
The fact that we are like 12 or so weeks into the college football season, and there are still NINE (out of 16) teams who have a chance to win the Big XII championship is absolutely remarkable. Our conference is such a chaotic mess and I love it so much.
West Virginia has a chance to do the funniest thing ever, if it goes right, they'd basically force army/tulane into the CFP, and if both Colarado and UNLV lose, but Colorado then beats Boise, and heck, clemson and miami both lose, but clemson ends up narrowly winning the championship game. Heck lets just say memphis beats tulane while we're at it. They'd be left with the SEC and B10 champions, then a 3-loss ACC team, a 5 loss B12 team, a 5 loss MW team, and a 3 loss AAC team/ a service academy that got absolutely curb-stomped by the only decent team they've played. At that point, the commitee might just say, f*ck it, we're going back to a 4 team playoff, invite Oregon, Ohio st, Texas and ND and lets get it over with.😂
I honestly could see Syracuse beating Miami & Clemson losing to SC then winning the ACC vs SMU. I don’t see how you could keep 9-3 SEC South Carolina out after they just beat the ACC champ, over half(7) of the 12 teams that they played were ranked in the top25 & they haven’t lost a game in the second half of the season now riding on a 6 game win streak.
Great Video! Perhaps I'm failing to understand why Tennessee would be the last in: The Bama, Georgia, TN group evens out as each team has won a game and lost a game against each other, but Georgia has easily the best strength of schedule. TN and Bama have both had a loss to a mediocre SEC team and one loss to a top-tier, but TN beat Bama in a head-to-head. Both have beaten teams that were ranked but ultimately don't look very impressive anymore. Regardless of whether Bama bias comes into play and they somehow get in before TN, let's look at A&M and Ole Miss... Ole Miss' two losses come from a really bad UNRANKED Kentucky and UNRANKED LSU. They have 2 ranked wins against Georgia and South Carolina A&M's losses come from a solid Notre Dame team and a stomping from a solid Gamecocks team, but I expect them to lose to Texas, and I doubt they'll make the playoff with 3 losses, even to good teams. They have no wins against current ranked teams either. TN's two losses come from at Georgia and at Arkansas. They have 1 currently ranked win in Alabama, who is currently the highest-ranked win of these three teams. If Texas A&M wins, this gets a lot more complicated, but if they lose and TN and Ole Miss win out, Ole Miss has two bad losses with 1 solid win and 1 great wins TN has 1 bad loss with 1 great win. Ole Miss has one of the better offenses in the country, Tennessee has one of the best defenses in the country. Their outlook is virtually identical, but Ole Miss has the worst loss against Kentucky, and TN has the best win against Alabama. So there is an argument to be made that TN should be ranked over Ole Miss and Alabama. At the very least they should be considered over one of them, I think. However, this is my prediction for the SEC CFP standings, even though I think TN should be more highly considered if Bama wins the SEC Championship: 1. Bama (Wins SEC Champ) 2. Georgia 3. Ole Miss 4. Texas (Loses SEC Champ) 5. (in) Tennessee 6. (out) South Carolina 7. Texas A&M
Do you really think if BYU/Colorado winout AND Army wins out the Big12 will get the conference vhamp spot over Army? They gotta jump high in the unlikelyhood that they upset ND.
The Big 12 is just the SEC but bad. No one knows what’s happening and the goofy as conference championship game confusion is easily the best part of this year. It just means more
@@shockboomjj7070 Army would “take” notre dame’s spot. It would be Oregon, Ohio state, Texas, Penn, Indiana, Bama, Georgia, Ole Miss, Army, Boise, Miami, and BYU/Colorado if every team here takes care of business.
I don’t personally see the committee doing a 1 for 1 swap of Army with ND when they could just keep TN included (who the video author seems to think is currently projected to be the first team left out)
@@shockboomjj7070 I could see that as well; it’s a close call between Boise state, BYU/Colorado, and Tennessee as to who is being left out. I just don’t feel like the committee would put 5 sec teams in; so either Tennessee or the loser of the sec championship game would be out
If Colorado and BYU both drop a game and army and Boise win out they will be ranked higher and take the last 2 automatic playoff spots. The playoff spots are for highest ranked conference champions, power 4 conference champion not guaranteed
It would be amazing if the West Virginia thing happened. I don’t care about West Virginia at all but it would be hilarious if all that insanity actually happened and they made the playoffs.
SMU can still be dropped in the acc championship in favor of Clemson if 1. they lose to Virginia 2. Louisville loses on the road to Pitt 3. Virginia wins next week against Virginia Tech This would leave Virginia with a 5-3 and Louisville 4-4 ACC records thus Clemson has the better win against common opponents and pushing SMU out very unlikely so you are right but SMU can finish 7-1 in ACC play and be out of the title game This would leave
I personally don’t think your giving South Carolina the credit they deserve I’m positive if we destroy Clemson the committee would have absolutely no reason not to make us a top 12 team
I disagree with ole miss. They have already had their statement win and have been in the last two weeks. If they win out, they're not getting kicked out.
UGA fan here. I really worry that if UGA loses the SEC championship, they are simply out. Don’t get me wrong, I think that would be really unfair given our SOS and the fact it’s like a disincentive for any team to go to the conference championship. But from a selection standpoint, UGA would be a 3 loss team while others with easier schedules are only 1 loss.
nah they will be alright. I like to troll Georgia fans but they got 2 big wins (Texas and Tennessee) plus the "good" Clemson win and all their losses are "good". They also have the pedigree of their domination of the recent years which will help them for sure. Unless UGA got blown out in the CCG they are lock if they win out regular season. One of strongest SOS and one of strongest "reputations" due to recent success. Losing SEC championship game could hurt a team like Texas AM, Ole Miss or Tennessee. Most likely wont hurt Alabama. DEFINITELY wont hurt Georgia. Again assuming its a competitive game and not a blowout.
because Georgia has 2 really big wins, another good win, both their losses are "good" and they have the reputation of dominating the sport for the last three years which will lead to them getting benefit of the doubt. Georgia lost to Alabama and Ole Miss, two top 10 teams, SEC championship would be another top 10 team. Georgia would have a 2-3 record against the top 10 or 12 which would be seen as evidence they are clearly in the mix with the top teams. Alabama has the Vanderbilt loss. Alabama has a history of success like Georgia but it was with a different coach. If Saban was there they would be a lock like Georgia. They are still PROBABLY in even with a SEC title loss but thats like 80% chance where as Georgia is like a 99% chance that they would still make it either way.
If Iowa State wins out, ASU beats BYU, and Kansas beats Colorado then they're in. If ASU, ISU, BYU, and CU are all 7-2 in conference play Iowa State is in.
Alabama definitely deserves to be pushed up a tier in my opinion; I'm just not convinced at all that the committee will punish CCG losses, especially after TCU didn't drop after losing to KState in 2022 I think they view the P4 championships as essentially just being tiebreakers for who gets the byes, basically turning it into a double elimination tournament for them
@@notimportant4994 if Indiana keeps it close vs Ohio state, then they have shown they can beat Ohio state with a bit of luck. Ohio State is the favorite to win the cfp. Better than Tennessee who got rolled by Georgia.
@@Deerjason”rolled” they didn’t you didn’t watch the game it was a one score game until the last 3 minutes when Nico fumbled the ball Georgia scored with one min left! And it was at Georgia if Indiana can’t beat the one team that’s ranked on there schedule they should be out they don’t even have a top 100 hard schedule Tennessee has a top 25 schedule.
Let me ask since no one seems to be if oregon beats the Buckeye's again in Michigan r the buckeyes in??? 2 losses to Oregon what do the ducks have to do it 3 times? Or Oregon wins the big ten then loses to ohio state for the national championship??? But oregon would have won 2 out of 3??? Then whos really the better team r ohio state other two loses to oregon just forgotten? 🤔 And if Oregon beats them three times is this the greatest team of all time? gonna need an update lol
Background music name?
If Iowa State wins out, ASU beats BYU, and Kansas beats Colorado then they're in. If ASU, ISU, BYU, and CU are all 7-2 in conference play Iowa State is in.
🎯 in that case, both Colorado and BYU would find themselves out which would be nuts
Iowa State wins the head to head vs Colorado if CO lose to Kansas, right? So if BYU wins and Colorado loses they are in.
Alabama definitely deserves to be pushed up a tier in my opinion; I'm just not convinced at all that the committee will punish CCG losses, especially after TCU didn't drop after losing to KState in 2022
I think they view the P4 championships as essentially just being tiebreakers for who gets the byes, basically turning it into a double elimination tournament for them
Lowkey I could see Georgia dropping a game to GT and Sec Championship but that’s ain’t as likely
@@robbierushing7521 every game is a must win for each of the 2 win sec teams; one loss and it becomes clear who makes it to the cfp
Update it again and put ASU in controls their own destiny 🤣
forgot about south carolina for Alabama resume
Dude Tn beat Bama while Indiana doesnt have a top 25 win. Id pick Tn over a 1 loss Indiana
How you gonna put a Colorado team in the playoffs that lost to both Kansas teams
I made this video before Saturday
Let me ask since no one seems to be if oregon beats the Buckeye's again in Michigan r the buckeyes in???
2 losses to Oregon what do the ducks have to do it 3 times? Or Oregon wins the big ten then loses to ohio state for the national championship??? But oregon would have won 2 out of 3??? Then whos really the better team r ohio state other two loses to oregon just forgotten? 🤔 And if Oregon beats them three times is this the greatest team of all time? Clearly there the two best teams and its nor even close
NMSU is not an FCS school
Indiana controls there own destiny, if they lose to osu big then who have they beat?
@@WeAre044 as stated in the video, they would be out if they lose big to Ohio state. They need to keep it within one score.
im sorry but Ole Miss is a lock baring collapse or at least control their destiny. because if they win out how wouldn't they be in?
Politics
If Indiana loses no playoff if Ohio State loses no playoff
Weak schedules
Go rebels!!
so the vols are on the outside looking in. best case scenario Ohio state beats Indiana bad and army beats noter dame.
New mexico state is fbs not fcs
We want IU to beat the Suckeyes and Army to beat Touchdown Jesus
wheres montana state 😂
Tier higher than mortal locks
