A way to have fixed this would have been to to do all of the conferences connected like the English soccer pyramid. Instead of just having the teams swap back and forth, let teams fall down multiple leagues and make em crawl back up. Have the SEC be the “premier league”, Big10 be the “Championship league”, ACC be “league one”, Big12 be “league two” and so on and so forth. It’ll make it a lot harder for teams to just keep bouncing back and forth and playing the same people.
that would be a really good idea, i don’t watch soccer but now that i think of it that would be really fun to watch but more years and faster simming would give it more time to develop
@@ProjectEditzzz yea you’d need like 25 years to really see some crazy changes, and a thing with the leagues below the highest one, they do a playoff promotion. So only the team that wins the league gets an automatic promotion, 2nd-6th have to play in a promotion and the two finalists get a promotion. So three go up and down but you can barely make it into the playoffs but win and get a promotion still
Please Bordeaux. I am asking from the bottom of my heart as a fan of this wretched team. Please rebuild Umass 😢. We have not won a championship since we were in the fcs in 1998. We have never had a positive or even season since joining the fbs in 2012. Please rebuild my team to its former fcs glory.!!!!!!!!!
Another video idea would be not only to do promotion/relegation, but also to expand that to a full CFB relegation with every conference included and connected, with top teams SEC, followed by Big 10 being second tier, ACC 3rd tier, and so on down the list.
Bordeaux, please consider this: Divide college football into 4 divisions of 64 teams. The bottom 4 and top 4 promote and relegate each season. Each division is divided into 4 conferences of 16 teams. The first 8 games are played within your conference. A bracket of all 64 teams is created. The 4 quadrants of the bracket are seeded from each conference. Top seed has home field. The final 4 are the conference champions played at neutral sites. This format gives every team a chance. It rewards record with top seed/home field, and produces conference champions in the tourney.
@@dankcoyote1, theres alot of extra work that goes into creating a true Pro/Rel system in game and youre limited by how you can actually edit things like neutral site games 2, this more accurately portays real life soccer leagues. Those teams aren't doing themselves or the league any good. The bottom half of the FBS should be in the "Second Division" with the final four of that divisions playoffs eligible for promotion to the First Division the following year. This means that in theory, even a Freshman on the 256th team in the country, bottom of the Fouth Division... could conceivably promote themselves to the First Division by their senior year and win the Division I National Championship. This is better for the team, players, fans, school, recruiting, etc. You could totally sell recruits on "Well, you could go to Colorado, sit on the bench for 3 years, maybe play a little your senior year and win nothing. Other than the seeding process the part that would have folks the most upset would be the algorithm deciding who the bottom 4 teams are for relegation. We like drama, we like emotion, but letting a group of people decide the fate of the playoffs seems like a really dumb way to do it.
Hello Mr Bordeaux! Great vid as always. I have also run promo/relegations in a dynasty and I found that things were much more fun if I gave teams a one year "grace period". Basically, a team cannot be promoted the same year it was relegated and vice versa. Makes the stakes a little higher for a team who may have just had one bad/good year, and gives them a chance to get and keep a recruiting class in the conference they recruited it in for one season. Just food for thought should you ever do something like this again.
I’ve been doing this in my most recent dynasty I started with my hometown college, except I’ve brought divisions back and it’s the loser-winner of each division. I’ve also gotten rid of all independent teams. The teams that get promoted are the teams who make the conference championship and the teams that get relegated are the bottom team of each division. I’m also keeping track of promotion-relegation and national champions, but cause of this video I’ll keep track of Heisman winners. A rule I implemented is if you win the Natty, you get a 3-year immunity, and that if a Group of 5 team wins the Natty, they have lifetime immunity in the conference they go up to.
Crazy to see the change in enthusiasm in your videos man. If you been go back 2 or 3 months you sound so much more monotone. Not sure what caused the adjustment but you’re killing it.
I completely agree. Not saying I didn’t enjoy his videos before, but recently he has felt way more passionate and interesting to watch. I wonder if it has to do with the new college football game finally releasing
bordeaux’s is more like the premier league (English League) while not the expert is like the Bundesliga (German League) In the Bundesliga the 3rd worst team in the division plays the best team in the division below to decide relegation/promotion
bordeaux, i have an idea, it still includes promotion and relegations, but all the conference are connected, so the top conference is the one who will help most with recruits as for the last conference being the absolute worst, start off with the best rated teams at the top and the worst at the bottom, so like soccer theirs multiple divisions like how a bad school if do good can climb the conferences and make it to the top, sounds pretty epic to me
in German Soccer, only the bottom 2 teams go directly down, getting swapped with the top two in div2. The div2 3rd place will play the third last team of div1 in a relegation playoff for the last spot in the top flight. I think that system could be very interesting in a format like this as it creates crucial games to watch.
Bordeaux it makes me happy to see you make this video, I haven’t watched it yet but this is how I do my Dynasty as of late and it makes it fun. I have an entire breakdown, including a map of all of the FBS schools, to have every territory and conference aligned accordingly.
I'm in year 20ish in a dynasty where I do this based on stars. 3 stars and up go to power 5 and you end up independent if you are less than 2 stars. Sometimes when independent seems to get too full or the G5 is too light, I change the criteria to lowest caliber which could mean 1.5 star schools in a G5. It's fun and cool to see some schools rise from the ashes like north Texas runs the b12 right now
i like how realistic this concept is because if big teams in the premier league happen to be relegated the top players have a contract clause that would force the club to release them so it’s cool seeing top recruits leaving schools once they get relegated well done again bordeaux
I actually only use a relegation/promotion format in any dynasty setup. Except I do it with regional realignment, and only promoting once they hit at least 3.5 prestige level as a program. Same rules for relegating, only when they go below 3 star.
You should do a dynasty and create the most stacked conference ever and rebuild a team in the top 25 and move as many ranked teams to one conference as possible every year and do the same challenges that you always do
Oh and I just thought of this other way you could do it is you could go with a promotion and relegation where for example the SEC is the premier League and then the big 10 is the next league down and just work your way down all the way down to the lowest rated conference being the bottom league and then still do three promotions in three demotions every year, so for example the bottom three teams of the SEC would be demoted down to the Big 10 and then if the next year those teams were in the bottom three of the big 10 they beat demoted down to say the ACC and see how it develops from there what do you think Bordeaux?
i literally just set this up on my game the only difference is each conference is regional teams like texas and oklahoma back in the big 12 its pretty fun it seems to balance the game more being able to just pick up and start with any teams because most of change conferences and be sent down or up gives me a lil extra thing to play for if i cant make the playoffs and win a natty good vid bro
I do this in my College Football game (with the bottom teams in the Power Five conferences (ACC, SEC, B1G, Big 12, Pac-12) feed into the Group of Five (AAC, Sun Belt, MAC, C-USA, MWC) who sends it champion up with all the conferences geographically aligned) but in reality the fairest way would probably be best/worst record over four years
I’ve been doing this in my dynasty, but with last year’s conferences and only one team up and down. 10 years in and Mississippi St and Vanderbilt are stuck in the Sun Belt. Kansas has been in the C-USA for 9 years. Half the ACC and American have switched. But the National Championship is still always won by the usual teams.
Video idea : a dad recently hired as head coach from division 2 school brings his 2 way superstar son along with him in hopes to lead their new team to the championship then moving on to the NFL
I rebalanced the entire FBS as regionally based as possible with 10 teams per P5 conference and the 2 worst teams from each P5/G5 pairing were placed as independents. The independents then had to earn their way into a G5 and then P5. Charlotte was winning the ACC from and independent after 3 seasons. Also, I believe Boise was never recognized because there weren't enough teams in the conferences.
Fun idea! You should do an integrated version, instead of paired. Set the conferences in a tier order and and see how far schools climb or drop across multiple conferences.
I’ve done a 30 year pro/rel dynasty with regional conferences. Instead of 3 at a time I use group of 5 schools conference championship game to determine who goes up. Virginia went down in 2030 and never made it back to the acc lol. Kentucky went down for a season and won the CFP as a group of 5 school. I can’t remember what year it was, but I thought that was hilarious
If you start a new dynasty the pac 12 naturally doesnt have a championship game because of the 2 schools. However if you go to conference rules while in the custom conference menu you can turn on the option for a championship game.
I really enjoyed this video. If I had one thing to add it would be to make a part 2 and switch the conferences maybe like .. SEC- PAC 12 B10-MCW ACC- C-USA B12-Sunbelt American-Mac
Bro Bordeaux you are one of my favorite CFB content creators. But I have one request. Pls rebuild uva. I have been wanting a uva forever. So if you see this comment pls consider my request.
I'm trying something similar to what you did, but I'm ranking the conferences, SEC first, based on average school rankings, then at the end of the season the 3 worst teams go to the Big 10 who is second, and then so on down. But also the reverse too, all the way down to the worst conferences. So basically BIG 10 loses Michigan, Ohio St, Oregon (to the SEC), Indiana, Mich St, Nebraska (to the ACC), but gains Florida, Auburn, Miss St (worst SEC), Clemson, Georgia Tech and Pitt (best ACC).
I would do it with 10 Conferences of 13 teams each. The Big Ten has the MAC, the Pac-12 has the Mountain West, the SEC has the Sun Belt, the Big 12 will have Conference-USA, and the ACC will have the American Athletic Conference. The military academies and Notre Dame stay independent.
i think a very interesting video with this would be the same idea but every confrence leads into the one higher above it on the in game rank seeing who the best team is
I think i would do BIG10 as league 1 ACC league 2 Mac league 3 and Conference USA as league 4 AAC league 5. SEC as League 1, Big12 league 2, PAC league 3 Mountain West league 4 and Sunbelt as league 5. Have promotion and relegation among all of them on each side. Really watch teams rise and fall
you are unable to play 12 conference games with some teams because of required games. an example is like notre dame and navy are required to play eachother (although they are in the same conference in this sim)
A way to have fixed this would have been to to do all of the conferences connected like the English soccer pyramid. Great new idea Boreaux! Keep it up you are really creative
Toledo had a special run in the beginning
I think i would do BIG10 as league 1 ACC league 2 Mac league 3 and Conference USA as league 4 AAC league 5. SEC as League 1, Big12 league 2, PAC league 3 Mountain West league 4 and Sunbelt as league 5. Have promotion and relegation among all of them on each side. Really watch teams rise and fall
Uconn making the semi finals would be insane haha
you are unable to play 12 conference games with some teams because of required games. an example is like notre dame and navy are required to play eachother (although they are in the same conference in this sim)
Not jmu going up down up down half of It
Doesn’t anybody know not the expert already did this
