Thanks for this vid and the valuable advice it contained amigo. This content meant that I managed to save my glass in time. All the best to you and yours.
Thanks a lot for this. I had a tone of old glue from previous owner to get off and didn’t realise backing plate came off so easily. 3M VHB tape and it’s like s#it to a blanket now!! 😂
Thanks for the video. Mine started falling off, i notice d on time so i still have the mirror. Can you tell me, can i just use super glue and glue it back on.? So i dont have to use those double side adhesive tapes. Thank you
@@ajvw cheers - good to know; I'd been noticing it wobble for about half an hour, and then on the motorway-ish reckoned it was really about to fall - I think it would have done! phew, but still need to get it back on - it's not fun driving without it.
@@ajvw sympathy - you've reminded me of a small thing that has worked (so far) - I can't even remember how I did it now, but so glad that so far it's stayed stuck on - crossed fingers it continues.

Glad it was useful, just had to do this on my new Passat too
Thank you for the video...I was worried I'd have to spend alot of money to repair my wife's car mirror
Glad to help!
Cheers...simple video. And l just caught mine in time, Passat B7👍🇮🇪
Thanks mate. Really helped out on my Polo .
I love VAG cars but sometimes the way some things break on them. Guess I'm a glutton pain.
What kind of glue do you recommend ? I have same issue. I believe this is because I leave the heater on for several weeks and original glue melted.
Great video. I noticed my mirror waggling today so was able to save it. Does your mirror still heat up OK having the sticky tape holding it in Place?
Yes it does!
Thank you, your video really helped me out. I thought I was going to have to spend a lot of money but it was a simple fix.
Glad it was of use!
Thanks! Fixed the mirror on my up! In no time.
I have a very strong double sided tape which im thinking of using. Do you think its better to use glue rather than double sided tape?
Should I disconnect the battery before disconnecting and reconnecting wires?
Thanks a lot for this. I had a tone of old glue from previous owner to get off and didn’t realise backing plate came off so easily. 3M VHB tape and it’s like s#it to a blanket now!! 😂
Hi, did you use strong glue as well or just the sticky pads that came with it?
I used strong glue
Great video. It was a big help. Many thanks.
Glad it helped
Thank you! 🌻
Thank you, saved me a shit ton of money ❤️
Okay so if my glass is heated it's enough to sit down glass on holder with 3m tape? Or better with normal strong glue?
Glue is better I think
Thanks for the video. Mine started falling off, i notice d on time so i still have the mirror. Can you tell me, can i just use super glue and glue it back on.? So i dont have to use those double side adhesive tapes. Thank you
Yes you can use super glue or contact adhesive to attach it
@@ajvw thank you for such a quick reply and advice
I forgot to mention that mine are heated mirrors on Audi A4. Do you think that super glue is still good? Thanks again
I used super glue a few times and it keeps coming off... Recommend the double sided adhesive
Does the 3M tape pull off with the heated mirrors??
Thank you , very helpful for me...
I managed to catch mine yesterday, now need to stick back on...
it looked as if it had been taped on at some point ... mm, not sure what's best and easiest to do
Glad you got it in time. I just used contact adhesive for mine

@@DrCaits I know how awkward it can be, mine dropped off at the start of a 300 mile return journey so I couldn't sort it until I got home!

So simple compared to other videos lol
I cant remove my terminals because mine has some sort of glue and im afraid to pull it out and doing shit...
What if the mirror is heated?
You're not touching the heating element if you just stick the glass back on. If you need to replace then yes you'll need one with element built in
