My mirror came off. at VW they told me that they had to disassemble the entire mirror to replace the glass 😂😂 I refused. I said I would do it myself at home. thanks to a youtube video I did it in 2 minutes 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi - why take off the backplate to fit new glass? Why not just stick the new glass on the existing backplate whilst the backplate is attached to the whole wing mirror mechanism? Thanks for video though - super useful
what type of glue do we need for this? I have the original mirror with me and i didnt like the aftermarket. I looks like fish eye for some reason so i wanna glue the original back to its place.
Assume you did it already but I suppose any clear glue works as long as it's super adhesive and the working surface is clean, I just ripped mine off the rest of the glue, cleaned the plastic and back of the glass with near pure alcohol, used Bison kit and there we go.

If you leave your heated mirror on all the time then eventually the glue loses its strength, hence why the glass falls off but not the back plate. So don’t leave your heated mirror on if you don’t need it on

My mirror came apart from the plastic backing. With your video I changed it for a complete new mirror in under 5 mins. Thanks for the help.

In no case pull it full down and right, that way I damaged the upper gear (it wouldn't drive back up) and had to go to a garage.

Mine has fell off but it’s just the mirror that has fell off . The back plate is still on . Does the mirror come separately to be glued back on ?
