I have messed with a lot of hydraulic Rams and cylinders before but never nothing that look like that. Can someone explain to me the reasoning and how that thing even works
I don’t know what that part is that he’s pushing inside, but my nextdoor neighbor growing up used one as the base pole for his mailbox. Interesting seeing it again as I’ve never seen one else beside this reel.
Used smaller versions of these is siesmic water drilling up north. I remember some teflon packing needed to be changed and we just rebuilt the whole pump the field. We called them a myno pump?
Moyna a pump !! They are used in refining process especially in plants thattake stripped water and remove sulfer from it in a solution called " Stretford ". I bought 2 of them ( used) for 10 dollars and make excellent mailbox post !!! Very heavy and when the slurry , because ita very very fine abrassive , plishes them they are beautiful !!
ConRods do wear out and are considered a standard replacement item. Generally you'll replace them at the same time you do a Rotor/Stator swap if the attachment points are worn out and you get too much play in them. I'll go ask the mechanic next time I see him, but I've seen the wear on them bad enough to where you can grab the shaft and twist it back and forth and you get motion out of it rather than it being a solid connection. Do you have a pump you may need to do this on?
Oh these are a pig of a thing! Those stators are a nightmare. We have this set up on our bomb trucks for pumping emulsion bomb. Good fun doing it on the shot when you’re trying to get the shot finished!
Thats what I was wondering, probably tiny ball mill on a 5 axis or a multi axis grinder. its also possible that its rough machined in 3 axis and then hand finished
These guys must have milked the jokes dry in that shop 😂
Naw you’re just lame to be around. Corny jokes
@nextgamebud8342 Ok there bud.
I hear they have a guy called jokes there

My wife has one of those things. Idk what they're for but she loves it.
She'll be pleased to hear we have a variety of larger sizes for higher torque applications!

Amazing comment man.

Bout the same size aswell
Wild, I’ve actually rebuilt these for years. I do underground tunnel work and we use those pumps.
Stay safe and let us know if you ever need parts!
I usually comment on vids like this, but looking down the comments, I think everyone's got it covered..😂
Our commenters are thorough to say the least!
Very similar to a mud motor used in drilling horizontal wells. Just much smaller.
That’s because it is!!!! 😂😂

Cavity pump (for viscous fluids) rotor shaft replacement

Thanks a lot for explanation i wasn't sure what it was lol

That guys been stroking pipes since the 60s the long an slow technique at its finest great job😮😮😮😊😊
I rebuilt one of those pumps with three of those that had to mesh at the same time. Timing is everything.
Here comes the fun part good too see someone really enjoy their job😂
Way to go Joel!!
We've got these at work I replaced them often because the material we pump through them is super gritty BSR-50 is what we make
If you're looking for replacement parts, feel free to give us a call! We carry a full line of pumps and parts in stock, ready to ship same-day!

Much smaller version is used for a marina pump out system. I overhauled it 4 times in 35 years. They worked very well.
Damnit, Joel. You stole my moment.
That older gentleman is not happy. 😅 bro waited his whole life for that moment, and JOEL stole it.
I used to work for a company called NOV/tarby that made the stator and rotors just like these
We used those in a paper mill to move sludge, we had one you could spin by hand it was so worn out lol
He's just a friend!
We had pigs growing op but we never gave them Palmolive to procreate 😊 thanks man good tip !
Like to see someone use that in a engine
@JavierSolis-l5v7v if you ever been around pigs u would get it look up what pigs pecker looks like then u mite laugh!
Good old progressive cavity pumps. Looks much easier assembling new parts. Vs me pulling a "gently used" one apart with the force of God.
We're going to be showing longer-form videos in the future showing that and we can totally identify with your sentiments.

Moyno is an OEM manufacturer of these pumps.
Id like to watch the machining process on that.
the fork truck is a new one for me

Never heard of "Stretford". What kind of refining do you do?
I work in a wastewater plant we also use Moyno pumps just far bigger than what’s in this video by about 5x

Have you guys ever tried Murphys Tire Lubr
Are dog bones considered your wear items? How often do you have to rebuild these?
Are you referring to the Chrome Stator? If so, you rebuild when you notice a loss in pumping capability.
@@libertyprocessequipment9885 the connecting rod from the motor to the stator

@ just curious. I have worn almost 90 degrees in the pin bore out of the dog bone, call it a connecting rod because it kinda looks like one.
Very reliable pumps.
Always took a forklift and three lowland gorillas to get ours together. I hated rebuilding that thing.
We moved to Forklift assistance after an unfortunate "incident" with a few Silverbacks. We tried Rhesus Monkeys but the CDC sent a very stern letter.
That’ll keeper’ in the short strokes!!!
I should call her…
I have something that looks and works a lot like that
You should see a doctor 'bout that 😂😂
Moyno pump, incredible machines. They can pump just about anything from minnows to peanut butter.
If its a hydraulic part why use soap instead of hydraulic fluid for lube?
Soap easily rinses out during testing which then doesn't contaminate whatever the pump is pumping.
The machining that went into that damn
Where's the red headed feller that screams papi oohhhhhh during these moments lol😅

Moyno pump, they use then on highway striping thermoplastic longline trucks also...
Astro lube may work better. It's made specifically for tight dry spaces.

Jesus, my mind went sideways real fast.
Rebuilt plenty of 3l8 and 3l10 Mono pumps on CME drilling’s

Don't forget those few taps that you have to do with the rod before entering the cavity
What is it ?
I used to make the helical rotors in the 90s , and they can pump strawberries without damaging them 🫡
The versatility of PC pumps is pretty amazing.

We use high HP Electrical motors to get these babies spinning!
Sometimes it's an awakward position and won't fit. In that case try jamming it in from a different angle
And always use plenty of lube.
