    it would help if you did the sitting trot longer so we can see more of what to do and how it looks.

      Why is teacher mad? Isn’t it the nature of the job helping students overcome issues?

    How do you stay sat in the saddle tho? What part of the leg do you squeeze? If you don’t squeeze ur thighs then what do you squeeze?

      Ideally, with enough practice, you should be able to relax into the horses movements and not have to grip/squeeze the horse at all.

      @@flightlesssongbird4025 not necessarily because then all of your weight would be on top of his back and not dispersed

      Think of your legs like a backpack on top of the horse! Not squeezing too hard but your firm, if that makes snese

      Balance, the appropriate muscle tone, moving with and accepting the horse’s movements all work to help us stay in the saddle.

    The only horse that I bounce on has a big gait so even if I'm relaxed, I still bounce.

      With most horses....you need to shorten your reins a little....get them soft in the jaw and put together!!
      If you don't do that...some horses are impossible to sit!!

    HOW DID YOU GET YOUR HORSE TO JUST STAND!

    • @ArtOfTheHorseman
      @ArtOfTheHorseman  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sadie She stopped the feel and motion of walk and put the feel and motion of halt into her body. That would be the shortest way to explain it. Thanks for commenting!

    Can these techniques be used on Western saddles?

    Amazingly, you can find instructors whose advice is in conflict with all these suggestions. Talk about frustrating

      I know, let the horse tell you if things are working or not. Thanks for watching!
