    Made our $900 payment to our Durango and made a $5,100 principal payment against the loan. We have just over $10k on the loan left. Hoping to have it paid off by September. Last piece of consumer debt!

    Awesome progress, Katie and KOTH squad! Terry and I used to follow another Katie back in the day who is no longer making videos. We go way back!
    Hubby got a raise!!!! :-) We will be using most if not all of that money to fund the remainder of his 2024 Roth IRA a little early. Which is unexpected given our daughter's wedding. So excited about that!
    Have a great rest of the week. See you Thursday? I love your Thursday videos. They are my morning treat! :-)

      Yes, I hope that other Katie is faring well. Oh, and that she paid down that darned Walmart card with its perpetual, 85% functional interest rate! That was not the only card/ debt out there at the time with a low minimum and a functional interest rate that challenged unregulated payday loans. I get the low minimums but a functional 85% interest rate just got in my craw.

    This month was quite expensive, I had to pay a 400 euro medical bill & 400 euro towards car repairs. Fortunately, I have been budgeting for larger expenses like this, so I was able to pull it from savings. Unfortunately, these expenses meant that bottom line I ended up with less in savings than I started the month with, but it is also the mindset that counts so I am still happy to have put 150 towards my investments and 170 towards my tuition for the last year of grad school. Next month I will refund my emergency fund and the pick back up saving for a down payment!

      Such a good attitude to have! It really isn’t fun to see your savings drop, but it’s so good that you had it to begin with and were able to use it when you needed it! Great job making some transfer happen the the midst of all that as well 🙌🏼🎉

    @$900 plus @$200 makes it $1100+ towards Molea and it is a wonderful transfer amount on its own! But when looking at a large debt on a spread sheet it is enough to make a clearly visible difference. Seeing a visible balance reduction becomes a self-perpetuating reward whether the balance is $100, $1000, or a larger amount.

    Our good news "transfer" for the week relates to our vehicle gas fund for which we take a budget amount out in cash at the beginning of the month; gas is $.10 to $.20 per gallon cheaper with cash here. We do pay for some parking garage fees with gas cash rather than what will be bank based funds if things are going well; plus sometimes other incidentals. Although we drove a couple of gas cans of gas to someone, we've been more conscious of the the the gas cash usage as June wore on. Gas price decreases have helped, the cheapst gas in the area has gone from $3.79 a couple of days ago to $3.69 yesterday, there is enough left over gas cash to fill 5 gas cans plus have a few dollars for the 2024 Bigger Ticket Item Fund. By happen chance, its even going to be on a Tuesday.

    • @KatieoftheHouse
      @KatieoftheHouse  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s so nice that you get a cheaper price for

    Good morning ❤ I missed the last few TT but I'm back!!!
    for the month I had to withdraw my savings to finally get me a car. I made a total payment of $1170 towards my car note ( $435 of it was by accident 😂 so I put it towards the principal and I'm also a month ahead )
    $200 towards my Tsp (retirement fund)
    $850 towards debt😩😩
    Glad to say I've paid off 6 out of 11 of my CC/Loans

    By my rough estimations, Fed loan 5 is going to be on either side of what some call spitting distance of $18k by the end of June. And that is fantastic. Periodically on and off during the rest of 2024, glance at and spend enough time to look at the dollars of interest sent to Fed loan 5 in January 2024 (or December 2023) compared to the latest month's statement. Yada, yada, yada about the interest statements being accurrate ... Im guessing that there will be enough difference that it is quickly visible.

      Almost certainly the loan payment will be considered income on his w2. I know when my son’s employer paid off he tuition for his masters it was reported as income.
