Wow, they make it so simple. Just about 35 steps involving ip addresses. Seems like you could place an object in a scanner and then press a button to scan it. But no...
You guys are great! This made everything so simple. First time owning a Chromebook and I was starting to dislike it because I couldn't get it to do what my Acer did. Now I feel like I'm winning! Loving this!
I find it ridiculous that I can't scan from my own printer. I had to comb the internet and going through all this. On top of that, the page seem to only allow for one page of scanning. If I want to scan several things one after another, It'll just open all of them in separate browsers and then I have to find some way to combine all the pdf files. This is so stupid. However, I do appreciate that this tutorial was easy to understand so there's something, i guess.
I haven't even been able to connect the printer to my Chromebook yet and it's been 2 hours. So much for 2019... People want the future to contain flying cars? I just want the future to contain easier scanning steps from my HP printer to my Chromebook!

HELP!!! I've been trying to scan a contract with multiple pages to be saved as a DOCUMENT under a particular file on my chromebook, but it consistently saves each page as a separate FILE under that file. I then must email each page as a file instead of one document. Driving me nuts.
Hi, so this worked the first time I tried it, but the second time I put the IP address, it says that the site can't be reached. The printer is turned on, and connected to the same wifi, so I don't understand what's wrong.
I see "The printer is busy. Try again later" for webscan > start scan, even tho I can print fine. HP Officejet 4630 & HP Chromebook x360. Yes spending too much time on just a simple scan after watching all available vids is frustrating

+Its Khuncha Scanning multiple pages on a chromebook is not possible, it seems. You can use the webscan facility but that only allows you to save one page at a time, then use PDF Mergy to unite the files.
This video is getting a bit dated. The latest version of Chrome OS has scanning functionality built in so you don't have to do the scan from the printer EWS page. Press the search (magnifying glass) key above the left shift key and in the search box that comes up type Scan, there will be an icon labeled Scan that shows up in the results, click that and a scan window will come up. For this to work your printer has to be already setup in Chrome OS.
