This is one of the coolest builds I’ve seen. I love that it’s not super fancy and not something super expensive. You should take a lot of pride in all of your hard work and ingenuity.
I love how u don't give up. u finish what u start. it says a lot about u. love watching the vids man keep it up. ima bow tie till I die die hard Chevy man. love seeing a Chevy come back to life!!!
We all have projects to work on and thanks to you nothing is getting done because were all binge watching these episodes, lol. Rather than taking a chainsaw to my problem child 73 Bayliner Mutiny, new bow hook, transom, side step/inner side support and floor all getting replaced and floor for the second time, lol. It so cool to see you not abandon anything but continue forward, you did not buy it you built it!
It's great seeing someone give so much love to a Blazer that was once destined for a demolition derby. I guess I'm weird, I treat my WRX and Dakota as if they were a part of the family. My Dakota was a gift from my grandfather and the WRX is my toy. I plan on keeping my Dakota until some day I have kids, I've put an insane amount of work into it and I can never imagine getting rid of it. I was little when my grandfather took me for rides in it and I plan on being an old man when my grandchildren take me for a ride in it.
You should see my Blazer then lol, My Blazer was literally on it's way to the Scrap Yard or to be Parted Out when I bought it like 2 - 2.5 Years ago and started rebuilding it, It's a 1984 S10 Blazer, 2 Door, 4X4, 2.8L/Auto with an Original 44,000 Miles on it (43,000 when I got it)... It had a Bent Frame when I bought it and I took the body off it and bought another Frame and Rebuilt the new Frame for it and then set the body down onto it..... Now I'm getting ready to do a 4.3/5 speed swap on it
This series really brings me back to old lessons learned. I've installed many a junkyard engine and trans, and have been burned more times than not. Sometimes you get lucky with a used engine/trans, but most of the time it needs to be rebuilt. Still, the enticement of saving a few bucks to take that gamble is hard to pass up; or rather, *was* hard to pass up. These days, it's all new or rebuilt components, because I hate doing the same job over. Great job on the Blazer, it's coming together very well.
I get that, next time I'll rebuild the thing to begin with. It was really just sticker shock of spending all of that money on so many different parts upfront. SBC rebuild kits can be had for quite cheap and I'll have all of the tools ready to go for the next one. And next time I get a 700R4 vehicle with a lot of miles, I'll probably go ahead and clean out the valvebody when I do the first fluid change. Thanks!
You have me sitting on the edge of my seat wanting more and more. Keep those videos coming. Great narration and editing skills as well. Till your next videos thanks again.
I have to start by saying you are a genius! How do you not have like 1 milion subscribers? I don't know but you are extremely knowledgeable. Great build keep up the good job!!
Have to respect a guy rebuilding a car like this for the process of it alone. It’s not like these old blazers are sought after, high dollar vehicles. He certainly will never make his money back out of it. I appreciate people who rebuild instead of buying new.
I remember my dad rebuilding an auto trans, when I was a kid. He was a mechanic for many years, and a darn good one at that. He took a 6 foot table, and meticulously laid out the parts; as they came out. Then you can match the new parts, and have a very easy process for rebuilding.
Yep, good way to do it! I actually made an extension to my workbench for extra tool/parts space when I rebuilt this one. Can never have too much workspace!
I have a 1992 silverado pickup with 350 engine with 110,000 miles on it . It is the best engine. I have always maintained it and always used synthetic oil. Transmission is a 700 R4 and change oil every couple of years. I purchased the truck new. Good luck with your project.
I love your humility. My dad and brother are considered to be the best diesel and Chevrolet mechanics, respectively, in our area . My dad is now retired and my brother passed away six years ago (I always called him the Chevrolet encyclopedia). I spent a lot of my childhood handing them wrenches & sockets and probably asking too many questions, 😂 . A typical conversation with either of them involved them talking more about what they didn’t know than what they did. I’m sure you’ve earned the respect of anyyone who’s worked with you. I love the honesty of your videos, they’re very nostalgic for me.
for something I loath to see in a car... the automatic transmission is a marvel of human engineering. Yes.. please make another transmission rebuild video... Its a crying shame you had to rebuild that motor.. but at least we get to hear more of your sweet narration style.
Wait, did you watch the video? I'm pretty sure you meant to post that on a Neil deGrasse Tyson biography or something. This is just me spending too much time and money trying to fix my car.
I'm going through all of your videos now and great editing and narration dude. Quality work. On a side note, I'm so pleased with myself that I knew what the problem was with your high RPM stumble. Makes me feel good that I still have some knowledge stored from a while back.
Good job man. I attempted to rebuild the transmission on my 2005 BMW Z4. Half way through I got pissed off and threw it all in the trash and went over to the junk yard. Glad to see a DIY is capable of doing this successfully. Might try again someday.
A gentle giant of sorts - gets defeated by a needle. Kudos for this series of these videos. I break a sweat just by watching you buy "a 200$ POS" and go through all this trouble to make her run again. Original parts include perhaps the body and windscreen wiper fluid container? Man, I wish you were my mechanic. Really shows some serious passion towards cars. - A noobie owner of a 31" Suzuki Jimny 2006 (my first car ever - learned a h*** of a lot about cars since buying ...)
Oh my God, I just spend like an hour watching about the progress you have made on this vehicle. I can't believe you have to take the engine back out! You just don't give up! Thanks for the awesome content. Can't wait to see the next episode.
DUDE this is one of the best series I've watched on tv and youtube I cant stop watching I feel for you and root for you in every episode thank you for editing such a long and tedious process I cant compliment you enough so ....THANKS and EXCELLNT SERIES!!!
Bad ass video man. Thumbs up 👍 to you buddy. I also got a S-10 2wd pick up that is 30 years old and still runs. It's got over 200 000 miles. Watching this makes me feel good. Now I know why neighbors drive by and ask if I'm selling it. I have too much sentimental value in it to be selling that little truck I tell them.
I just found your series, you do a truly great job. Both technically, and with your film editing skills. I too have my son's old Blazer, and it has transmission issues. We used to work together on this, but now he is off and in the US Marines, got himself another truck in CA, and I'm in the Midwest, so I'm going to get it running and sell it. Your video motivates me to get it done. I have seen the other videos online on rebuilding these transmissions, considering that a shop charges $2K - $2.5K, and the rebuild kit is only $200, I should consider another income stream. LOL,...anyhow, you are doing a great job. Thank you.
I really like your work man. Mr PATIENCE in person. Nice videos, great skills n creativity, great creativity, great naration. Just wow. Salute from your brothers in Mauritius Island.!
that transmission jack looks awesome, and bro I love your commentary I am laughing so hard whilst appreciating your tenacity and superior craftsmanship, such a cool series I am loving these videos
Watched all of the Datsun series! Now onto this series. Really like the way you stay on topic and not jump between things like you see on most other car channels with kids and cameras! Damn I sound old! (31)
Actually, the head gasket didn't cause any performance issues that I noticed. The transmission didn't really need a full rebuild, a valvebody one should have sufficed, but replacing everything was a good idea anyway. It drove well for a while after the trans rebuild until I noticed bubbles in the coolant tank that pointed to a blown head gasket.
Nice! I have a mild BHG on my ford 5.4 that doesn't cause issues other then oil leakage! Might as well delve deep into the trans for the full rebuild! I"ve been hesitant to do the trans rebuild myself, many fiddly things to get wrong, good job tackling it like that!
I have a S 10 1994 model Engine v6 4.3 It is really a powerful and beautiful car But unfortunately my spare parts are considered rare and expensive and since a while ago I was looking for front wheels but I could not find them Maybe I will try to request it from outside our country, despite this difficulty But what you see doing with this S10 is a great job and a great effort. I wish you success Thank
Hey man, awesome series you have going here! I was also excited to see that you're also from Maryland! I have not yet seen any other TH-camr who is from Maryland. I also do some work on cars myself but I do not post anything on TH-cam about it. Your video series is pretty awesome and I am enjoying it a lot. Keep up the great work and I am sorry to see that this Chevy keeps giving you issues...but hey just one more reason to keep the series going! :D
all i have to say...well a few. your just like me. ...and straight dedication...your one amazing dude. i wish i knew you. lol i live in cumberland city Tennessee from California ...anyways thanks man i love my s-10's and your the reason why i keep going on them thankyou:)
I love the simplicity and narration of your videos. I watched your first vid of this series, got to this one and now I'm subscribed. As an amateur mechanic I love these and they get me hyped to work on something and get my hands dirty. I have a 2002 dodge ram that I've done significant amount of work to. I am hoping to rebuild the tranny at some point so I'm looking forward to your rebuild to give me an idea!
This. this is exactly the kind of videos of people working on their project cars i'm looking for. really good video, really good narration, not too detailed oriented but also not abra cadabra hand wavey either. thank you
dang i have an 87 tbi k10 chevy pick up im rebuilding and sometimes I just feel like giving up on it but you have put more work into yours than i have with mine keep up the good work and thanks for all the tips
I thought my afro engineering skills were top notch, but mine don't even begin to compare to yours! Great ingenuity on getting everything to fit up and work on the Blazer!
Sorry to disappoint, but that's just not happening on this truck. I would like all of that, sure, but it just isn't in the cards for this thing. I riveted sheet steel over the rusted holes around the rear wheel wells, remember.
FuzzyDicePimp don't know what kind of shape the inner fenders and firewall and front frame crossmember are and I understand this is a cheap truck and it's come a long way. But I would push it out in at least power wash the engine bay really good to make it a little nicer work on next time you got to turn wrench on it. Just my two cents. By the way new subscriber here I've really enjoyed you as 10 videos even though I'm a Ford guy.
Great video on awesome work on the S10 so glad to see other people bringing these old Vehicles back to life and keep them going instead of going in there like junkyard keep it up you have a new subscriber
I tell ya what man your really good at working on stuff I know your working on a lot of stuff on this blazer I work on everything there era of your blazer to 95 is my favorite. If that silver chevy is your when you start to have problems you'll realize that your blazer was engineered to be DIY friendly. Also I'm glad you did away with tbi carbs make engines sound so much better in my opinion. Good work I just started watching your channel an hour ago you ever thought of doing an early 90s silverado those are getting really cheap. But good job man
Thanks! It's one of those things that will never be finalized, I'll just fix it and drive it until something else breaks or I get fed up enough to fix/improve something else about it. And I'm completely okay with that!
FuzzyDicePimp I completely agree with that one man! Well. Mad props to you and your channel. Giving me a lot of tips as well as an entertaining series! Can’t wait to see what’s next !
If your blazer has the factory option list inside the glove box you can see what ratio the rearend is-4:11 is the most common I have seen and also if you see G80 you have the Eaton locker in the rear, my 1984 gmc s15 jimmy 4x4 had the 3.73 rear with Eaton locker
It has 3.08 gears and unfortunately nothing fancy in there. I'm pretty sure those lower gears are only on the four banger and maybe 2.8L trucks. I like looking up all the RPO codes when I buy a vehicle, good info and sometimes a fun surprise!
FuzzyDicePimp yeah the two 2.8 86 blazers I have owned had the 4:11s but the 84 gmc s15 jimmy 4x4 2.8 had 3:73s and it has the Z71 package which I haven't seen before, and the 86 I just did the 93 engine swap in I did away with the front diff and changed out the 4:11 rearend to the 3:73 rear
That specialty tool reminded me of the way I held my engine up without moving when I changed to a tubular front K member in my old fox platform mustang.
I'm really loving this series, and it's amazing what you've done with that Blazer. I'd love to see a transmission rebuild as well and I've subscribed to you thanks to this project :)
God, sounds a lot like what I went through with my explorer, lol. First had to rebuild the trans, then the head gaskets went. Then the trans went again, hope that doesn't happen to you tho. Great job on the series though, really enjoying it!
I'm not done watchung this series, however I believe you should name yhis Blazer "Until". Until the next thing to go wrong. At least you are sticking with it. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
Thanks for the vid. Having issues with my 700r4 cranks into drive only... Going to take it apart with my tranny guy... I am learning as I go... Amazing how it works.
Previous owner smashed it into his truck's trailer hitch getting it off of a trailer, a new grille and front bumper are on the list. But toward the bottom of the list and it's quite long...
Not sure if your aware, but you can get a thing called a remote oil filter kit. basically screws onto the old filter housing and you mount it in an easier place. My last few project cars ive used them, mount them in an easy spot and oil changes are easy.
4.3L 4x4 Blazers came with one from the factory, but it didn't fit the 350 block. Might try a universal kit eventually but space is really tight up against the exhaust.
Great work! I've never understood why float level makes any difference. I mean, if there's fuel in the bowl, it should be good but I know there's more to it.
It is a little more complicated than that, but you're not wrong. You want a high enough fuel level so that the bowls don't run empty if there is very high fuel demand, so the jets are covered even if the fuel is splashing around, and it also helps get the fuel moving since the weight of the fuel on top is helping push it through the fuel passages. You also want a low enough fuel level that it doesn't splash out/flow out of the vent tube and flood the engine or present a fire hazard. There is even more to it than that if you really dig into it, too.
Remote mounted oil filter bud. Easy fix. Also, speaking from experience, any engine swap should be torn down to the short block and checked. You will save soooo much time and headache.
Was thinking a lot of the places you drive looked familiar and they sure do! You live very close to me which is awesome! Would love for you to do a meetup with fans and bring your projects to meet you. TH-cam recommended your video on my main page and im glad i found someone else thats local. Keep it up!
Thanks for specifying how you found these videos, I've been wondering where all the new viewers were coming from! I never would have imagined so many people would be so close by! I need to take some time and figure out what to do with this newfound audience, but it would be incredible to just get some car people together to talk or even wrench on one of these things together!
Its nice to see a new car page from moco. There is a motorcycle page thats closeby that goes by joego101 who rides around the area. just so cool to see someone from my town blow up on youtube. If you see a black and tan Ford bronco rolling around thats me lolol.

I just binge watched the whole series! I can't wait to see the engine rebuild!
Haha, that's what I'm doing right now! He makes a very well laid out video even though it's just an old piece of shit Blazer. Lol!!
This series really brings me back to old lessons learned. I've installed many a junkyard engine and trans, and have been burned more times than not. i would like to see a transmission rebuild video
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
I would also. Subbed for that possible video and everything else you share with the community, TH-cam AND the DIY car guys.
I have to start by saying you are a genius! How do you not have like 1 milion subscribers? I don't know but you are extremely knowledgeable. Great build keep up the good job!!

I'm addicted to watching your shows, man this thing is gunna be a sleeper you're building it properly. So much work... Savage
Fuzzy Dice Projects this is true☝🏻
I have a 1992 silverado pickup with 350 engine with 110,000 miles on it . It is the best engine. I have always maintained it and always used synthetic oil. Transmission is a 700 R4 and change oil every couple of years. I purchased the truck new. Good luck with your project.
Man, you've got me missing my crappy old 87 S10 Blazer 4x4. Love your channel and style, keep up the good work.
This is feels like a documentary. I watched all the videos about a year ago and now I’m rewatching them
for something I loath to see in a car... the automatic transmission is a marvel of human engineering. Yes.. please make another transmission rebuild video... Its a crying shame you had to rebuild that motor.. but at least we get to hear more of your sweet narration style.
Am I the only one who noticed the boot zip-ties (1:21)? :D
Loving the videos. Keep up the good work!
These videos make me never want to work on a car again lol
Drive it break it fix it repeat. That's the best way
@@umad42 ah yes we both must own Chevys LOL
You are the smartest dude I've ever seen... ever.
Wait, did you watch the video? I'm pretty sure you meant to post that on a Neil deGrasse Tyson biography or something. This is just me spending too much time and money trying to fix my car.
lol!! Nah man, I would never be able to work on a vehicle the way you do, you have a lot of skill.
I'm going through all of your videos now and great editing and narration dude.
Quality work.
On a side note, I'm so pleased with myself that I knew what the problem was with your high RPM stumble. Makes me feel good that I still have some knowledge stored from a while back.
Have to say you are not afraid to dig into anything and pretty smart on anything you do. Great job
Your so knowledgeable on engines and repairs in general. It's amazing to see how you just do all this yourself.
Good job man. I attempted to rebuild the transmission on my 2005 BMW Z4. Half way through I got pissed off and threw it all in the trash and went over to the junk yard. Glad to see a DIY is capable of doing this successfully. Might try again someday.

Thought I would hate this... but I'm hooked... minus the goofy hair and sketchy welding, I think you are doing great work!
Haha, everybody makes questionable decisions sometimes!
Watching your videos it's so apparent how much you know about engines, and transmissions. Very entertaining, and informative. Thanks.
Man you're committed to this project. I give you props. Mad, mad props.
I'm hooked I can't stop watching you trying to get this junk box back in shape
My first stab at fixing cars was an '84 S10. You gotta have lots of patience in this line of work. Nice job
I know nothing about working on cars/trucks but I love your videos, they're soothing but I'm sure there's a lot of time and frustration involved.
Bad ass video man. Thumbs up 👍 to you buddy. I also got a S-10 2wd pick up that is 30 years old and still runs. It's got over 200 000 miles. Watching this makes me feel good. This is an amazing series. Props to you for your patience with the rebuild and your editing with full commentary. I could watch these vids all day!!!!
So much pain! rebuilt the entire trans to find out, your super hard to swap motor has a BHG! I have totalllllly been there! this series is superb!

This is the story of my life! I never had a car that just worked. Almost every month something was breaking or needing fixed....
for real... binge watching is awesome for this... this makes me happy to see a rebuild
cant wait to rebuild my jeep yj

A small suspension lift kit should drop the front diff down enough to allow you more space to easier remove your oil filter! Great videos
This. this is exactly the kind of videos of people working on their project cars i'm looking for. really good video, really good narration, not too detailed oriented but also not abra cadabra hand wavey either. thank you
Great editing on these videos. I've always loved these model S10's and Jimmys.
………..all I can say is you're freakin' amazing. I watched this video in total awe. You're a master of the internal combustion engine, sir. :)
I can't waiit to see the performance of the newly re-built V8!! That will be nice!
dang i have an 87 tbi k10 chevy pick up im rebuilding and sometimes I just feel like giving up on it but you have put more work into yours than i have with mine keep up the good work and thanks for all the tips
I thought my afro engineering skills were top notch, but mine don't even begin to compare to yours! Great ingenuity on getting everything to fit up and work on the Blazer!
I don't think anyone would have put this much time and effort into a little ole blazer ever
Yeah it's practically pathological
I just found your channel and I am totally digging it. I like the work you do, the way you shoot it and the music choices. Subscribed
Please do some clean up and paint while you have that motor out! Firewall, frame rails, undercoating....
Sorry to disappoint, but that's just not happening on this truck. I would like all of that, sure, but it just isn't in the cards for this thing. I riveted sheet steel over the rusted holes around the rear wheel wells, remember.

I'm not complaining, you might get some good views if you correctly repair those areas! I like your content
You basically replaced EVERYTHING in the 1988 chevy c10 4×4 great job loving it
In depth rebuild? Yes please!!!
Check out the 2007 Silverado series on this channel, it includes a very in-depth rebuild of a 4L60E, which is mostly the same as this 700r4.
Found your channel through the s10 build. Watched them all waiting for this one to come out. Love the videos. Keep up the great work
Well just found this channel I've been debating about the swap for years. I feel after seeing this its time to order parts.
Best of luck to ya! I hope yours goes a bit smoother than mine haha
Thanks Got My Fingers Crossed
@@hmmrlne Lol did you end up doing it?
Order parts? most of them you have to fabricate lol good luck man
Great video on awesome work on the S10 so glad to see other people bringing these old Vehicles back to life and keep them going instead of going in there like junkyard keep it up you have a new subscriber
But good job man
I’m addicted to your series lol
seconded.
Blazer brings back a lot of memories I’ve watched all the vids u made on it I can’t wait to the rest of the build
These videos are very awesome and well done. I bought a 1975 chevy c20 and these videos have me very excited to get it running
Holy cow I can appreciate all this hard work I watched all your videos on this truck
Damn ! If it ain’t 1 thing it’s another !
That’s crazy 😂 your videos are the absolute definition of that
Keep up the good work man
Loving these videos man! Props to the Blazer and the journey it’s given you! Can’t wait to see the finishing touches and a finalized project!
I don’t want to pay $15 a month for roadkill and I really like how you go into detail on all the mechanical things you do
I'm really loving this series, and it's amazing what you've done with that Blazer. I'd love to see a transmission rebuild as well and I've subscribed to you thanks to this project :)
I just started watching this series and I have to say bravo. Really good stuff!
God, sounds a lot like what I went through with my explorer, lol. First had to rebuild the trans, then the head gaskets went. Then the trans went again, hope that doesn't happen to you tho. Great job on the series though, really enjoying it!
Ive seen some poor young kids go through nightmares with v6 Explorer's.
Wow amazing journey! Wish part 5 were available, looking forward to seeing the engine rebuild!
awesome video...
you give us lots of info from start to finish on your projects. ..
now a big fan....
keep up the great video
you didnt give up on it you kept fixing it... good job
I'm not done watchung this series, however I believe you should name yhis Blazer "Until". Until the next thing to go wrong. At least you are sticking with it. Thank you for sharing. Take care.
I would definitely would watch you do a 4l60e rebuild. I have one myself that needs rebuilt.
Hats off to you for not giving up
This is my new crack... Saying that cannot WAIT for the next episode
Thanks for the vid.
Having issues with my 700r4 cranks into drive only...
Going to take it apart with my tranny guy...
I am learning as I go...
Amazing how it works.
Keep it going man, this the beginning of a great channel!! Good work on the truck!
( new sub) Definitely want to see the 4l60e rebuild great videos and good narration thanks for making them !!keep em coming and I'll keep watching !!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
That's a lot of damn work for a little s10. My hats off to you. Next time you should get a new grille so its not missing a tooth
Previous owner smashed it into his truck's trailer hitch getting it off of a trailer, a new grille and front bumper are on the list. But toward the bottom of the list and it's quite long...
Man I been looking for a channel like this my whole life . Thanks for the awesome videos! Looking forward to the engine rebuild.
I just watched all 4 of those videos and i want more. Definitley subbed and now waiting till you release the next video. Keep up the good work!
Such a cool project! great work man thanks for taking the time to make this videos. Glad to see you are having fun with the project!
This is my new favorite series on TH-cam! I’m hooked! Can’t wait for more
Remote mounted oil filter bud. Easy fix. Also, speaking from experience, any engine swap should be torn down to the short block and checked. You will save soooo much time and headache.
I love my trans jack. Installed my trans in my k5 blazer with 8" lift
I got to say, you did stick with it. reminds me of me, when i was younger.
What year Bronco? I'll look out for it!
FuzzyDicePimp its a 1990 with bullet hole satin black wheels and a small lift on it.
Great video would love to see a more inept video of a trans build as that's something I've always wanted to try can't wait for the next video!
I'm going to assume you meant "a more in-depth video of a trans build" but what you said is more likely!
Yes damn auto correct lol
This series of videos I enjoyed watching. This is something I would love to do
Can't wait till next episode ☺
