🧐WHO AM I 🧐
My name is Nafi, I am a second year medical student at the University of Leeds.
I come from a bangladeshi background (however never living in Bangladesh myself), born in Singapore and then moved to Norwich, England where I went to primary school, high school and sixth form!
I am currently creating vlogs about my time at medical school as it's something that I have wanted to do for along time. I also create other videos about stuff; generally medicine or health related (but not always)!

Yknow, as much as it seems understandable that the OSCE can ride on how nice you are, it’s crazy that they failed you on it aswell. To think that general likability would be a requirement to pass.
Well it is probably a little more complicated than that but the majority of my feedback was directed towards it so I have to take that as my main point of improvement

Hope you’re okay. Does seem a very subjective way of measuring performance. And apparently redundant as an assessment as we all THAT one doctor! When are results due?
Yeah I’m good! I can understand from the examiner end how difficult it can be to give feedback in a short amount of time. Not sure when my results are out but I probably won’t announce it until my last vlog of the year is out!

If that many people fail, surely they need to take a look at what they are doing? It sounds absolutely brutal.
Well from a student persepective, it does seem quite extreme and unusual however I don't fully know previous statistics related to this so I can't really say much more from the other side
If you fail the resit you get kicked out? I thought they just made you do the year again?
I believe they changed that rule this year
@@nafi.iftekhar that’s very harsh. When I was there I remember a few people resitting the year multiple times and still not getting kicked out! Anyway good luck, focus on your weak areas
I'm not sure of the official reason for this change. In my opinion, I think it may be a method to cut down on the total number of students that the medical school has atm.
@@nafi.iftekhar interesting…I would have thought more students would bring in more fees…and generating more docs which the nhs needs
True however if the capacity doesn’t proportionally rise with the influx of students, you run into potentially more expensive issues e.g. hiring more staff, finding more placement providers etc.
