🧐WHO AM I 🧐
My name is Nafi, I am a second year medical student at the University of Leeds.
I come from a bangladeshi background (however never living in Bangladesh myself), born in Singapore and then moved to Norwich, England where I went to primary school, high school and sixth form!
I am currently creating vlogs about my time at medical school as it's something that I have wanted to do for along time. I also create other videos about stuff; generally medicine or health related (but not always)!

I hope you do well in your resits. I know how tough it is. Failed an exam last semester and it still hunts me till this day. 😭

Can you repeat the subjects if you fail
So sorry to see you’ve had a tough time. How much do you think Covid has affected the exam performance of your cohort? You’ve got me worried now though. Due to start next September 2023 and I’ve never failed anything in my life. Medical school seems to swing a wrecking ball through people’s streaks. I’m even now trying to work out if I should be preloading on anatomy etc just to stay ahead!
For my cohort at the moment, covid hit when we were in our first year and pretty much decimated our pre-clinical years which has had a follow through effect into the clinical years. Alot of people who go into medical school tend to be people who never fail at anything so when they get in and they are scored against each other, it is sure to make people fail for the first time.
This may sound the literal worst thing to go through but in reality, it doesn't mean too much at all.
Medical school is a very broad subject and requires you to think a little bit differently than what most people have had to do in their lives before and as such can lead to people "failing". Just think of it as another step that you need to take and as long as you act properly, it'll be fine .
As for preperation beforehand, in my opinion, there is no need to. You'll figure out what you need to know when you get to medical school and as long as you have some discipline and planning, you can lead a perfectly normal student life

Are Leeds still doing “sequentials”? I remember having to do the year 4 summative again because my first attempt wasn’t good enough. Passed the sequential and got a C overall. To this day can’t work out if that counted as a fail or not!
As far as I'm aware, they've removed sequentials from the examination process and just have resits instead
@@nafi.iftekhar good because that system was awful! i probably got a D which is a bare pass but needed to do the extra paper...
