  • If you're struggling to make ends meet or aren't being compensated well, Go here: newsletter.nursestoriches.com and join over 2,000 other nurses who receive our newsletter, showing them how to 2-3x their nursing income while also working fewer than 36 hours per week.
Becoming a nurse is no easy task and the cost of going to school can add up. But, in this episode, I speak with a nurse who went from becoming an LPN (licensed practical nurse) to getting her MSN (Master's of Science in Nursing) in 2 years. And she did all of that for $3,837 out of pocket!

I need prayer. I'm an RN. Been one for 4 years. Been working medsurg. I have tried to get into case management but can not get even an interview. I have not found where I belong. I'm struggling. I just need prayers from nurses and viewers for God to open the door to where I belong.

This video was meant for me. I live in Georgia and I'm an LPN workingin at a hospital on a medsurg floor. I do the same task as the RNs. My coworkers who are all RNs keep telling me to go get my RN. One of them even mentioned Albany State bridge program with the one day a week. Thank you so much for this info ❤

I am from IL. I used the WIOA grant for training as a medical assistant. It’s now WIA if you all seek it out.
My BSN was paid by the HRSA Nursing Corp Scholarship. Applications open every March and closed April 30th. Sometimes they modify it by one week. It pays all tuition and related expenses + $1400 roughly in monthly living stipends

@@nonye1251 No pay is comparable or better, and critical shortage sounds more intimidating that is actually is. The hospitals are not underfunded either. I moved from Chicago to Phoenix, AZ in both places you can work and the top hospitals in the area and be in an underserved population. All of Chicagos top facilities are in what's called the medical district, they are also the top funded, and have the most advanced programs and training opportunities. Right now in Phoenix, I work in what is consider the Maricopa County hospital. And we are opening our new hospital built on the same grounds April 11.

As a life coach and mentor this could change going to college forever. She exposed how to get a masters degree in a fraction of the time for a fraction of the cost. This changes the game on going to college. There are nursing schools in Ca that charge 100k for a 2 year degree. Jason I would love to talk to this lady. She could easily do what Moe did and do a video series on this entire process. Then sell access like Moe did for $400 to access the course. Moe says he makes over 1 million dollars a month selling his video course on passing the RN test. This lady could easily do the same thing. Amazing interview! She could make 300 - 500k a year working in the Ca Bay Area. Plus pension! I hope you told her that. I hope you do a follow up interview with her soon.

      @@career5690 i still miss Boston.
But moving here in California is the best move i ever done.
To give you an idea how it made my life better, i will give you some numbers.
In Boston, i earn $45/hour. Here in CA, i earn $96/hour. It more than doubled.
In Boston, i pay $18/day for parking. Here in CA i only pay $35/month for parking. Imagine how big the difference. 2days of parking in Boston is way higher than the whole month of parking here in CA.
Also, part of my benefits is unlimited free ride of Caltrain. I am lucky that i found an apartment which is just walking distance from the Caltrain station. The schedule of the train work out with my schedule as well. So i take the Caltrain everyday on my regular working days. I save on gasoline and i exercise everyday by walking.
The list goes on and on. I am happy and thankful.

It's different pay in different states, and Georgia is one of the lowest paying states for Nurses..

I joined the US Army to get my initial ASN, which most plp would never do, because it is a sacrifice. Financial aid is only available to lower income & the rich have their loopholes, the middle class gets very little help. Paid for my BSN on my own, & started paying for my Masters in nursing, but too much time & money.

I know not everyone wants to work in the hospital. Her path has not prepared her for acute care. I didn't hear ICU care or Med Surg. Hospice and case management are more stable forms of nursing .
Sounds like she went to WGU or Cappella. These schools that are questionable in the nursing education that you receive. Realistically how much are you learning by receiving a Bachelors degree in 3 months. And Georgia isn't paying anyone a competitive salary no matter what the field is. As for me, I want to learn and be educated. Capella is a for profit school and not highly recommended. Good for her though, we all have to make it some way. 👏🏾 👏🏾

ICU or Med surg is not a specialty you get the training on the job.
No one cares where you get your nursing education.
Most of the traing to become a good nurse is not from the school ,but consistent practice at the hospital.

The knowledge you need to work as an RN is obtained in the ADN program which is how you're able to sit for the NCLEX and obtain an RN license after passing. Going back for your BSN is more about management/leadership. Even if you finish it in 3 months versus 2 years, the classes and amount of credit hours are the same. You should do research before having an opinion that is completely wrong.
