Great choice of bike Noraly - just ask Austin Vince or Ben King if the CRF 250L is a good bike for overland travel! You must know that Steph Jeavons has traveled over 50,000 miles on a CRF250L. I have one of them also. Change the seat to Seat Concepts. You may want to drop one tooth on the front sprocket, and definately make arrangements for carrying more petrol. Good selection, you will like it!
Noraly, Taking into account your previous training on different bikes and sports and your experience with the brand, the reliability of the engine, I think it was a good choice
Hey Noraly, you know that because of you I bought myself a motorbike? An adventure bike more precisely? Yeah. You did it. Your trips from Asia and South America convinced me. Now is Africa's turn. Let's see what is popping up!
hey Noraly. Welcome to my neck of the woods. I am glad you dealt with fire it up. Bought 3 of my bikes from Berto, he is the best in the country. He will look after you, like no one else.... Safe and enjoyable riding.
I was in Cape Town in 2019, and I rented a HD Electra Glide, and rode it to the Cape of Good Hope - (bucket list). Coming from the U.S.A., the right lane vs left lane made me think for a quick moment, but when I stopped thinking about it & just rode it was became natural. The ride to the Cape of Good Hope is an AMAZING ride👏...!
Congrats on your "new" Honda CRF250L. It's a great on/off road bike. And from experience, I feel they will never let you down. Nice to see you back on your adventure rides. Thanks.
Great choice Noraly. After 25 years away from motorcycles, I got back in, 2015 in my late 60s, and went with a 2014 CRF250L. Put about 25,000 kilometres in 2 years. Trouble free and reliable. Moved up to CB500X in 2016 so I guess we have similar choice in bikes eh.👍 So glad you are able to get back travelling. Be safe.
Similar story here; started riding at 22 thru 37. Parked it until I was 63; now 65....last two years has been on a '87 BMW K75C. Now I'm looking into something capable off road, but keep the 75 for "road work".
A young motorcyclist was killed in England when a woman from an American forces unit stationed there came out of the base and drove on the right instead of the left. She is refusing to come here and face justice at present. We can only hope.
Hi itchy boots New subscriber from Australia, you must travel here sometime. Good choice of motorcycle Honda's are generally bullet proof. Stay safe and I will keep watching your adventures with great interest. Cheers phil
I laughed at you riding on the wrong side of the road, Noraly. I am from the UK and often drive in the Netherlands. One time I did what you did, and pulled out onto the wrong side of the road. There was a car coming straight at me so I pulled over to the kerb to wait while it had passed. It was a police car and it stopped alongside me. The officer wound down his window, with a big smile on his face, and said, "I knew you must be British, would you like to reverse and try that again?" and then he drove away. Lovely policemen in the Netherlands :)
Being from the UK, I did exactly the same mistake when I got off the ferry at the Hook of Holland - the 1st time I went to the Netherlands - it was 1973 and a lot of the main roads were still cobbled roads.
i did the same in Gothenburg, also confused by traffic lights for trams. i ended up on the pavement with my fully loaded bmw. I used to dispatch ride in London you knew in tourist season . that people would look the wrong way before crossing the road. particularly near stations ,museums etc
Hi Nora. It's nice to have you back on your yuotube channel. I missed you a lot. I really like your new project. You look very good. That bike looks kind of light weight to me. I think I would have preferred a 400 or 500.
So great to see the GP registration plate. My hubby and I grew up on the East Rand, and have been in Cape Town for 26 years. So great to see Noraly in South Africa. I followed all her seasons and although I am way behind, I can't wait to travel South Africa with my favorite TH-camr, Itchy Boots.
This is going to be the best season yet Noraly... I can’t wait
A European female touring on her own in SA - Hmmm - brave lady. Love your spirit - and I genuinely wish you luck.
You must know that Steph Jeavons has traveled over 50,000 miles on a CRF250L. I have one of them also. Change the seat to Seat Concepts. You may want to drop one tooth on the front sprocket, and definately make arrangements for carrying more petrol. Good selection, you will like it!
The Seat Concepts seat is a good investment, but I still find mine to be quite uncomfortable for long rides.
@@zingzach me too, but much better than stock.
Great choice!!! I’m looking at a new 300rally when it or if it shows up at my dealer!! Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Congratulations, I can't wait to see where the little Honda takes you. Am so glad you are back.
hey Noraly. Welcome to my neck of the woods. I am glad you dealt with fire it up. Bought 3 of my bikes from Berto, he is the best in the country. He will look after you, like no one else.... Safe and enjoyable riding.
This spring will be perfect, watching you in Africa, Im so happy for you :)
It is so nice to see you picked a dual sport instead of an adventure bike this time! In my opinion dual sports are so underrated!
That is a dirt bike not a duel sport.
@@daymaker5460 learn the terminology. If it was strictly a dirt bike it would not have turn signals or a place to attach a license plate.
Rumour has it, sun shines wherever Noraly goes because of her positivity
I don't recommend you watch her Iceland trip then!
@@MianCowell I actually watched it, weather was nice enough
@@MianCowell Nordic gods tried to defy her and failed most of the time
I was in Cape Town in 2019, and I rented a HD Electra Glide, and rode it to the Cape of Good Hope - (bucket list). Coming from the U.S.A., the right lane vs left lane made me think for a quick moment, but when I stopped thinking about it & just rode it was became natural. The ride to the Cape of Good Hope is an AMAZING ride👏...!
Welcome to our Home! I hope you enjoy our beautiful country and our hospitality!
I am watching and thinking, "you are on the wrong side of the road" and started to worry, glad you corrected it.
most of the world travel on the left
@@GSXRI300 It's the contrary...
@@GSXRI300 No....
Too funny. I was just thinking that you go so many places and wondering how you remember which side to ride on. 😬
Congratulations and happy riding.
So glad you’re back, can’t wait to ride along on more adventures, safe travels 👍
Congrats on your "new" Honda CRF250L. It's a great on/off road bike. And from experience, I feel they will never let you down. Nice to see you back on your adventure rides. Thanks.
Nice to have you back Noraly. I missed your travels so much.
Impressively decisive and go-getting Noraly.
Great choice Noraly.
After 25 years away from motorcycles, I got back in, 2015 in my late 60s, and went with a 2014 CRF250L.
Put about 25,000 kilometres in 2 years. Trouble free and reliable.
Moved up to CB500X in 2016 so I guess we have similar choice in bikes eh.👍
So glad you are able to get back travelling.
Be safe.
Similar story here; started riding at 22 thru 37. Parked it until I was 63; now 65....last two years has been on a '87 BMW K75C. Now I'm looking into something capable off road, but keep the 75 for "road work".
Hi i am Gareth and I am from south Africa and i start watching your episode and I love all of dem
You look like you made a Good Choice.
Even though I'll miss the Himalayan.
Best Wishes from Montana! M.H.
I have one - love it. For 95 percent of the riding I do it's all I need. Wish it had a bigger tank from the factory, though.
So happy to hear “good morning internet”! I think you should name her Jolene. Take care!
Lefty is a good name
It is so hard to remember to stay left when you’re so used to driving on the right hand side of the road
the house have high walls because there is a big security problem there, take care and have a good road.
I was shouting at the screen when you started your test ride and went to the wrong side of the road. We've all done it 😁
Place a red arrow sticker on the centre of the handle bar pointing to the left. Too easy to make a mistake when departing from a quite area.
I never shouted at any screen.
A young motorcyclist was killed in England when a woman from an American forces unit stationed there came out of the base and drove on the right instead of the left. She is refusing to come here and face justice at present. We can only hope.
@@thetessellater9163 yes let's share some negative horror Stories. It's so much fun.
At last some left hand driving for us in the UK :o) Glad to see you are back out in the world to entertain us once again,
Hi itchy boots
New subscriber from Australia, you must travel here sometime. Good choice of motorcycle Honda's are generally bullet proof. Stay safe and I will keep watching your adventures with great interest. Cheers phil
👩🏼 two minute ride “I’m lost already “
This is going to be an awesome adventure.🏍
Be careful and stay safe hun.🍻🌲
I laughed at you riding on the wrong side of the road, Noraly. I am from the UK and often drive in the Netherlands. One time I did what you did, and pulled out onto the wrong side of the road. There was a car coming straight at me so I pulled over to the kerb to wait while it had passed. It was a police car and it stopped alongside me. The officer wound down his window, with a big smile on his face, and said, "I knew you must be British, would you like to reverse and try that again?" and then he drove away. Lovely policemen in the Netherlands :)
Had a very similar experience in Japan!
@Alice de Janze that is sad, I realise that I was very lucky
Being from the UK, I did exactly the same mistake when I got off the ferry at the Hook of Holland - the 1st time I went to the Netherlands - it was 1973 and a lot of the main roads were still cobbled roads.
i did the same in Gothenburg, also confused by traffic lights for trams. i ended up on the pavement with my fully loaded bmw.
I used to dispatch ride in London you knew in tourist season . that people would look the wrong way before crossing the road. particularly near stations ,museums etc
Put a big orange arrow pointing to the left on the handle bars. At least for the first few days.
Gosh Noraly, you've been in SA for all of 24 hours and you're saying "hey" just like a proper South African! :D
Hi Nora. It's nice to have you back on your yuotube channel. I missed you a lot. I really like your new project. You look very good. Africa is a very exciting place and you bought an excellent motorcycle to travel on dirt roads. I hope you come EU later. It would be another exciting country. Congratulations and I will follow you again by yuotube and Instagran !!
Gefeliciteerd met je niewe “alles”! Leuk dat je weer lekker bezig kan zijn.
I spent several years there, I hope you understand the dangers and take the needed precautions. It’s a beautiful place, but It can get ugly fast.
